If they do the King Gimmick, he should take it a step further and go with the title of Emperor instead. More regal, historically more impactful title, and more serious on average. If they don't, he should take the Bret Hart approach and get the Crown, Robe, Sceptre, and Throne, and after that don't do the gimmick.
I think with them announcing that the winner gets a title match at SummerSlam, that it's definitely going to be Orton and Nia that win. For Orton, I think it will give Cody an extremely strong opponent to go against. They also have the history of their mentor relationship. The reason I think Orton over Gunther winning it is that on RAW, they're pushing the Drew v Punk storyline. I think it's almost a guarantee that Drew is winning in front of his hometown crowd at Clash. Punk's expected return to in ring is this summer. What's during this Summer? That's right, SummerSlam. Drew v Punk is just going to be such a bigger draw that Drew v Gunther or Priest v Gunther would be and having the title in that picture is going to make the draw even bigger. For Nia, I think she's clearly going to be the winner. I could see them potentially having Bianca win it all, but the fact they've been focusing so much on her "knee injury" for this entire run just makes me not believe it. Again, RAW story telling is already full, so there is no room for Lyra to win it. Liv is going to beat Becky. Rhea's injury update said her timeline for being out was 3 months. She was injured early April, so what massive WWE PLE takes place right after the time Rhea will be back? That's right, SummerSlam. The Liv v Rhea match has to have the belt, because Rhea said her goal was to come back and immediately take back everything that was hers. That means the belt has to be in the picture. She won't win it back immediately because Judgement Day will turn on her. The reason I think Nia over Bianca though, is because of how much they're playing up the Bianca injury. So Bianca would go on to fight two more matches with a busted knee and then what? She goes on to fight Bayley face v face at SummerSlam? I don't think so. I think her heel turn is coming, and then we will see her in the title picture again. In the short term, I see Nia being the winner because it gives Bayley someone strong to defend against, while also having the face v heel dynamic that the big PLEs demand. The Jey Uso thing, I 100% agree with you guys. I definitely don’t get the criticism. He was facing one of the best in ring wrestlers in the entire world so of course he’s going to be “not as good” as Gunther. But in-ring is only like 75% of what makes a great wrestler. He’s has charisma in spades and he’s really over with the crowd.
I think my prediction is that Lyra wins the tournament, Liv beats Becky (maybe not at this PPV but before SummerSlam) and injures her in kayfabe to win the title unfairly, Lyra then challenges Liv at SummerSlam to avenge her friend
I'm not a Yeet fan but I'm not a Jey lover or hater either. He's in the position he is in because the world title sharks are injured. Punk, Rollins and McIntyre all out. So they needed to push someone. I don't know if it detracts from the World title or not and WWE can't help people getting injured so they're making lemonade. For Jey to be this over there will be a temptation to give Jey a World title and I think that would be a mistake. When Roman is back I think he and Jimmy will join back up for original bloodline. They don't need a title for that and with the long title reigns it seems like they are doing I don't think Jey having the title for a month or two really serves a storyline in any sort of meaningful way.
