I live in Florida and DeSantis has been one of the best things to have happened to this state. Its mind boggling how many people here do not like him. When the "you know what" hit, he kept us open and I got the big C. Lots of my friends/family did too...but we didn't die. I did lose friends and family members however..within a year of receiving the "solution" to the big C. That was something that opened my eyes. The world is upside down folks. Buckle up. It's gonna be a bumpy ride.
I think that fake meat is already here. We bought some 'ribeyes' about 6 weeks ago and it was so bizarre. They were incredibly spongy & no amount of cooking would make the inside anything other than an unnatural red. It didn't even have a grayish ring. It was temped up to 175 & still looked like that. The texture was the weirdest part. Even though it got extremely overcooked, it never got tough. It was spongy af. We didn't do anything to it like marinade, tenderize or sous vide. It was beyond weird.

I also bought a ribeye from the food Coop that was supposedly grass fed. It had a strange texture. I told my husband I was suspicious of how it was really grown.
My family and I stop buying from Walmart and other big box stores. We have farmers markets in the area and a Amish community close and we been networking with local resources.

Oregon and Washington need to ban fake meat as well. Lab grown meat.. I had the great experience when my son was in school and part of ffa, he raised a pig. I used to purchase a side of beef from a local that would allow you to raise your steer on his property he was a friend of the family but still got me compared to store-bought meet there's no comparison. I work in the Texas beef industry and you would be shocked at how many beef, dairy, pork, chicken operations there actually are in America. The numbers of infection could be high and we'd still have enough food with food to spare.
