Delta Work, already a Grade 1 winner, Santini and Topofthegame. This is or was probably Paul Nicholls's best festival since his prime with Kauto Star, Denman, Big Bucks, etc. Frodon was probably his biggest chance, a Cheltenham specialist.

2 great horses... I backed topofthegame, went all in..but was impressed by santini... I'm sure we've seen next years gold cup winner here, but I will stick to my horse topofthegame until he gets beat by santini
What a race and what a round of jumping from the winner. Be interesting to see which one of the top 3 progress to the gold cup next season. Winner is still pretty raw and could still improve and the runner up had a troubled prep but still run a career best. Delta Work may drop back in trip I feel.

Am glad someone else has mentioned this because I stick me neck out enough ...a bad ride indeed .
Got to the front way too soon for me, average jump at the last and getting squeezed between the other two ended any chance he had

that first fence in the straight should be put back in it original postion before the home straight the fence makes no sense being where it is you didn't hear anyone complaining about the fence in the 60s to the late 1990s so why change it
Tpofthegame doesn't jump fences, he just makes room for them. Is he bigger than Party Politics (1992 Grand National)?
Not sure about that. That year's RSA (formerly Sun Alliance) Chase was won by Minnehoma who would win the Aintree showpiece two years later. That featured Fiddlers Pike with Rosemary Henderson. Eighteen years later, Katie Walsh would better it with Seabass, third behind Sunnyhillboy and eventual winner, Neptune Collonges.
