I wouldn't call myself a metal head either, I listen to pretty much everything under the sun. I hate it when ignorant people decide that because they don't like a metal sub genre (same applies with a lot of genres) that it isn't real metal. They then make it a personal crusade spamming every video they can find calling the band "fags", "posers" and whatever else they can pull out of their simple grey matter. Glad to see someone with a level head on here.

First band is Mercenary and the song is "Lost Reality". Probably my favorite song from them.
But you have to remember that the bands we have today wouldn't be here without the bands that came before them. Just like everything else, your success is built upon the platform of the success of your predecessors.
Its a finnish band called Insomnium and the song their playing is Daughter of the moon.
Sonic Syndicate have emo influences even though critics have called them a mixture of In flames, soilwork And Children Of Bodom. But They are still melodic Death.
@FlamoAralias best band on earth. I stood 6 hours in the freezing philadelphia air to get Alexi to sign my original Jackson RR. FTR and Hatebreeder, although I've listened to each 1000 times, still pump me up beyond belief.

Eden Fire, the first album, really had a Melodeath sound to it, the next ones I agree with you.
They're a danish band called Mercenary. 3 of their members just left though, so their new stuff is likely to be heavier in the future.
Good call. I kind of dig Lunar Strain just as much. Nice to have something as raw as that album.

When asked to comment on the band's genre, vocalist Johan Hegg remarked:
We play death metal. We write about vikings so, therefore, some refer us to viking metal, but I have no idea what that is. I can't imagine the vikings veer into metal at all except on the swords and stuff. And musically, I guess they only played these strange lip instruments and some bongos or whatever.„

Not sure about Mnemic but Disarmonia Mundi's from Italy. Although their current vocalist, Björn Strid (Soilwork), is from sweden.

And If you check out maiden for example and then listen to this, this just makes me think about a radio song with metal drums and the singer suddenly starts trying to growl, and besides every metal band is melodic and if they doesn't know that it just makes the whole genre so special since they don't understand metal, which by all means point out that they in fact are posers trying to understand something they don't and even try to change it into something else
CoB does have some power metal in their sound, but overall I agree with you

I imported Fragments of D-Generation from Russia. The band is Italian, but the record company is russian if I remember. Just buy it online.

I wore my Vintage hoodie to their concert. Rope had a cracked calis and shit, yet he still fucking played like a mad man. They threw out picks but I never cought one. =/
Regardless, I got to shake their hands. No weak shakes either. Rope's finger was bleeding too. lol
They loved my hoodie. I'd love to go see them again when I get money.

Well, I agree with you on most of the part, like pushing them into sludge death metal or swamp death metal, but I have to say that Sonic Syndicate is not even supposed to be considered as mainstream Death metal, since they don't incorporate any death growls at all into their music. Death metal is categorized via death metal vocals, which is the aforementioned growling. Sonic Syndicate uses screams like in most hardcore bands, yet they metal riffs, hence they are metalcore and not melo-death.
Yeah, this isn't real death metal, but it's real music, not just noise, like cannibal corpse, nile etc.
This is the best effin' metal in the world.

Actually, Mercenary is still considered melodeath... Sure, they have that power metal vibe due to the singer's clean vocals being power metal-ish, but the guitars behind that still fit the melodeath genre.

Well, I think In Flames stopped to be Melodeath with Soundtrack to your escape...
Where is Imperanon, Wintersun, Norther ETC i could have chosen many difrent melo death bands, but this what was i chose to come up with, ill prolly make a new one at some point where i would include bands like Kalmah,Norther,Wintersun,Imperanon,Copos Mentis, stuff like that.

God i love Insomnium, i haven't heard of Mercenary but they sound pretty good. In Flames (brilliant), Bodom (brilliant musicians, not fussed on the vocals). Sonic Syndicate are a bit of a metalcore rip off of In Flams but thats purely my opinion. I'm just glad so many love this genre!
