Thumbs up if you think richie stole the show.
one ain't better than the other. they perfect together💕
You know you're here to listen to Richie hit those crazy angelic harmonies
I confess
@@anniemcg611damn right ❤
Same here
Guilty
I always liked his voice better
Richie Sambora just outstaged JBJ
he understood the assignment
I don't care what anybody says, Richie stole the performance. Definitely badass.
I am so agree...best perforance.
Jon, you are the best backup singer in this video.
That moment when Richie comes in is godly.
omg f yes!!
Absolutely amazing
Yes
Even bon jovi smiles that says a thousand words
"That's what she said"
Hahahaha joking, he'll yeah man! It's awesome
Bon Jovi will never be the same without Richie. We miss you Richie.
Amen to that.
Yes Richie has a amazing voice came here to see him and hear him..
I always thought Richie's voice were better and yeah they will never be the same without him
@@hagit33 totally agree
and he very well knows it
Richie has got an amazing voice
Wow Richie steals this performance, he freakin killed it, I knew his playing is always amazing but his voice is amazing too!
Richie shocked me with that vocal. Class
Have you seen the version they do on the 1989 MTV music awards? I assume you have, if not its a must see. Its by far the best live version of the song they have done. As good as this is, that version is much, much better in my opinion.
I bought 'Slippery When Wet' as a teen in the 80s and listened to it quite a few times. But it wasn't until years later that I found out whose voice gave me goosebumps and caused my heart to beat faster. It wasn't Jon's...
not to mention Richie's incredible guitar work and world class solo!
The guy is great
OMG! Where in the hell have I been all these years, I never had a clue that he sings so amazing! ♥️
@@fifi5672 hahaha at least you have now. I've been a massive RS fan since my first BJ concert in 1996. I think I ordered Richie's solo album the next week day after being blown away quite dramatically when he sang Wanted 2nd verse :))
Put the debate on who is the best vocalist aside and just appreciate a timeless classic performed by two of the coolest cats of their day .
Hot damn Richie has an amazing voice
Freeekin amazing, steals the show
Bon Jovi + Sambora=AWESOME! Can't have one without the other!
Jon & Ritchie's old performances are pure magic
When Richie showed us what a great singer and player he truly is. Amazing preformance. He just kills it here. Great band. Greatest guys ever.
Richie's voice has everything, a million layers you just want to uncover, then totally wrap yourself up in it.
that is such a glorious way of saying it💕
Jon ain't Jon and Richie ain't Richie without each other. Together these guys are amazing. There's a reason they've been friends and bandmates for 30 years...cause' THEY know how good they are together.
yes Jon has admitted that. he knows
Love them or hate them. These guys are masters of their craft.
The BEST duo out there. Legendary.
Sambora carried that performance. Bon jovis great but sambora gave me the feels. Felt that voice in my fucking soul.
Hello dear fan
How are you doing?
It's nice meeting you here!
OMG!!! They both sound amazing and Richie really shines in this performance! One of the best performances I've seen of my favorite Bon Jovi song!
Bon Jovi without Sambora is like Guns 'n Roses without Slash.
that's why they need to call themselves just JOVI
Indeed, but:
Sambora without Bon Jovi is also like Slash without Guns 'n Roses.
Yeah, say that to deluded CEO, JBJ
@@SH1974 yasssss. Sambora is nothing without Bon jovi.
SH1974 slash is great without guns and roses
Amazing performance. Jon had an off night, didn't sound as good as he can, but Richie carried his ass through this song. Excellent vocal performance from Richie.
bs Richie carried his ass every night
RICHIE STOLE THE SHOW ....
Sambora 4 ever. Man, amazing voice, Unmatched.
Richie's voice is so good
richie conjuring up spirits with that voice
THEM BOYS COULD SING !
What did you expect?? Put a world class song writer/singer on stage with a kick ass
guitar player with an outstanding voice in his own rights.....Legends.
that's right. sad but true. I mean Jon, even if he doesn't sing as good as Sambora and doesn't play the guitar like him, he's the FACE, he's the one that makes them all famous and successful. He has charisma and this thing that you can't explain - the thing that makes people love him, not only as a musician, but also as a man too.
I call Jon 萬人迷,means very charismatic,Jon is 萬人迷。
Richie's music touch me deeply, especially his solo albums❤
Both are great and unique musicians.there is no comparison
Sambora better guitarist - hence he was the lead guitarist. Not better voice than Jon. Sambora was good here, the song fits his voice. Search the net... even when they were young, Sambora's voice breaks man. And wobbles. Hence, Bon Jovi. Not Sambora's band.
@@oldstuff4379 It's Jon's band because he's the one that drives it all and is the most characteristic, not because of his voice. There are thousands of incredible singers out there, better singers than him, but it's not much if you're not the front man type like he is.
When it comes to voices it all comes down to preference at the end of the day. If you wanna talk their technic they're both not the best tbh hence both of their voices break on multiple occasions with so many concerts they had and Jon can barely sing any higher notes for years now. But they're not Celine Dion or Whitney Houston, they didn't need to have the perfect technic. Talent, charisma and great voices are usually enough for this genre, on top of fantastic music of course.
Awesome totally awesome! Who else gets chills hearing Ritchie sing solo, amazing voice, best version!
Vocals just roll our of Richie....I never really gave him that but Jon was the front man so. But man. Richie is one talented dude and now 2021 still can hit the notes, which is likely a result of not having to scream them for so many years. One of the best duos ever.
Approximately 1983 I saw RATT at Starlight Theater in Kansas City. At that time no one ever paid attention to opening artists and often didn't even find their seats until they had finished. The band that opened for RATT that night had the entire venue's attention. They were hands down the best opening band I've ever heard in my 40+ plus years of attending concerts. I was 16 and told my then boyfriend that the next time we saw the opening band they would be the headliners. The name of that band was Bon Jovi.
Hello Laura
How are you doing?
It's nice meeting you here!
Richie has an amazing voice!!! I prefer his sound over Jon's any day
You 2 did awesome. Richie sounded great❣️❣️❣️
Hello great fan
How are you doing?
It's nice meeting you here!
richie's second voices are amazing!! great singer and great guitarist! Bon jovi wouldn't be so great if it werent for richie
Jon is a refined and silky Richie and ..Richie is a wild brutal and unleashed Jon
Shit man that's heavy.
That's true Jon has rich & warm tone but SamBo is harsh singing (feel like Beyonze with pennis)
Richie sambora has also the voice ..they both nailed it
Richie's smile at 2:00 is something of wonderful, it make me happy everytime I watch this video. A real musician, a real man. I wish I was him.
He’s like “watch this, guys”
Then sings like a god
Bon Jovi what a legend...an who would of thought Richie Sambora could sing like that...blows me away
Wish People would stop comparing them. They both bring equal talent to their Music. Bon Jovi wouldn't exist without either of them. Just enjoy the Music and the Talent.
Jodie Ratcliffe Sing it brother1
Jodie Ratcliffe
Exactly!
Yep!
So true, tired of people bashing either one of them, both are great but together they are magic. Ty god they are immortal on records and RUclips.
I have to agree with others who've noticed Sambora's vocals, are much more power powerful. Not complaining at all. Bottom line is,that it's nice to have two powerful lead vocalists who both sound great. Having spent some time listening more to RITCHIE lately, I love, his original music.
OMG ! Jon is just beautiful .
They complement each other. Both great in their own ways.
Sambora is a great singer... Along with Bon Jovi as well... Marvellous Duo.. For this Song and many others
Their voices complement each other like no others
Had the album on cassette and wore it out rewinding this song in my '78 Camaro.
The two of them - magic. I love this acoustic version from my hometown.
Hello amazing fan
How are you doing?
It's nice meeting you here!
Bon Jovi have been my favourite band for years and Richie should be like this more often. They work so well singing together without Richie being restricted to backing.
this is one of the songs you can hear a thousand times and it never gets boring.. so awesome!
RICHIE IS BON JOVIE , WITHOUT RICHIE BON JOVIE IS NOTHING , NOTHING AT ALL !!!!!!!!!! AND JUST LISTEN , RICHIES SINGING COMPLETELY BLOWS JOVIE OFF THE STAGE !!!!!!!!!
The guitars are just something else .... oh my soul
Hello amazing fan!
How are you doing?
It's nice meeting you here!
Richie's voice on this great song is amazing and Awesome ever😀👍👍👍👌
I love the guitars ovations sounds
Richie is the strongest singer by far. Jon even breaks a smile as Richie comes in strong and you can hear the crowd noise rise in intensity and anticipation . They both smile In reaction to the crowd and Richie’s better vocals. Still true Ito this day.
that’s like saying Roger Taylor is better than Freddie Mercury. guess what he’s not. and Jon clears Sambora
BEAUTY SOMETIMES TRUMPS TALENT
@@destroyerofkooda123 Keep dreaming. Mr Bon Jovi sings with a very nasal tone. Not a patch on Mr Sambora who sings with real feeling and passion. Hate to tell you this but he blows Jon away....
@@stephennoble2647 Jon has the better range and the more notable and memorable voice. put both in their primes and Jon clears. this show was in 1996, so Jon has already 10+ years of touring and 6 studio albums singing lead vocals, so no wonder Richie will sound better here. but overall Jon clears. cope harder bozo
@@destroyerofkooda123 It's so weird how some here now just seem to be 'tuning out' Jon's high 'rock' voice, without which there would have been none of this! If you don't have a singer who can belt like that, you're not going to make it as a rock band, however good the rest of you are. As with Plant and Led Zep, or Rodgers and Free.
Richie was locked in on this performance. You could tell he was really feeling it
Jon sang his voice out years ago. He can't be blamed. He say a million faces back then, and he rocked them all!!
Richie has such a great voice, considering hes not the singer.and being able to play guitar like he does.his harmonies are just great.and his pitching is fantastic.
Wow wow wow, ritchie is amazing, vocally stunning, my god his voice is just stunning, i got carried away singing my heart out, thats what richie does, he sucks you in, man he is sooooo good. This is talent at its best.
Richie kills it, this is probably my favorite version of the song
Moscow 1989 is better
Very true!
Richie have a amazing voice
Richies voice never fails to send shivers down my spine.
they sound absolutely amazing together
Wow.. richie, you nailed it...
Love bon jovi
bon jovi is not without Richie.
Grande Sambora!!!
Graham Donald, perfectly stated. Richie is so great at all he does and he and Jon together, well, doesn't get much or any better.
I remember this, this two literally stole the show with this acoustic set they did. Everyone was talking about it for days
Those two were unbeatable back in the day …… some duo 👍
jon got them all together....jons the only one whos signed to the label....tbh i dont think it would be bon jovi without jon
WOW!! I didn't know Richie could sing as good or better than Jon? wow!
welcome
bon jovie's voice is what makes the band and richie backing him up thear the best legends forever
these guys make a killer duo with their voices, richies really powerful while jons is really smooth and softer
Yes so true❤️♥️🥰
LOVE Richie's voice on this song........wowww!! He is also a very underrated guitarist!
Damn! I never knew Sambora could sing like that! Wow!
He has three solo albums. Jon has two. Gotta check 'em out.
I can't stop watching this masterpiece, absolutely brilliant, there is no solo but still you don't miss it, one of the best versions i have seen of Dead or Alive
I didnt know Mr Sambora was such a good singer!!! He could have his own band as main vocalist!
He has ... Ands he is the singer! He has 3 awesome solo albuns !!! Just a complete artist...
Wow! I had no idea! i'll check it ou!
Jose Solano Do it, you will fall in love with his solo work!!! Amazing!!!
If you pay close attention to songs like Living on a Prayer, or Someday I'll be Saturday Night, you hear Richie does the powerful, higher harmonics behind Jon. His voice is everywhere in Bon Jovi. Arguably, its what makes their tracks.
World class talent all round, brilliant acoustic version!
jon and richie, perfect combination they have different voice quality they both sounds amazing
Agree!
People saying Richie is so much better than Jon, are forgetting what Bon Jovi was about. Jon's voice was the driving energetic force behind the heavy cowboy rock band they once were. This acoustic version suites Richie s silky smooth voice much better, but in a full mix, Jon's style is what cuts right through it all. That said, Richie is what made me love music since a child from the 80s till now. His solos might not be the most technical, but in my opinion the most beautiful. Stranger in this town is still one of the best albums ever! His style's holding up much better these days as well. But also listen to Young Guns II 's Blaze of Glory, it's without Richie but with late Jeff Beck and tell me that album doesn't rock AF
Great - I'm loving the acoustic version. They've both got great voices, both different, but that's what makes it work, it's how they get those lovely harmonies. So, don't compare, just enjoy!
Senorita Steffy agreed
Best comment
I have been a fan since Slippery When Wet when I was 13. My first concert was at MSG Slippery When Wet tour. I still like the new music but Bon Jovi for me will always be Jon, Richie, David, Tico and Alec. Everybody should check out Richie’s solo albums as well.
These fellas where born to entertain, so good looking, brilliant talent, Fab song writers with one of the best songs ever
In this video you can appreciate the great voice of Richie, the soul and the passion he puts when singing❤️❤️. How do you tell the difference with Jon's singing!!!
Born in the very early 70's and teenage years was fantastic music of the 80's. Now a days every 3rd song on the radio is Taylor Swift and I can hardly wait to get home to hear this!!!!!!!
Richie Rambora
Richie shocked me with that vocal. Class
Hot damn Richie has an amazing voice
who is here 2019?
jon would't exist without richie and richie wouldn't exist without jon...they know that...that's why they are best freinds:)
no
These two were incredibly great together ☺️
Wow Richie made this song and Bon Jovi knows it. Amazing voice !!
Richie should have sang more in bon Jovi he's got a damn good voice. Looks good too.
love these guys forever, reminds me of Lennon and McCartney, but with a much purer love. Jon's face when Richie unleashes that magnificent voice, which back in 96 had been a little hidden ♥ beautiful people, beautiful chemistry and friendship ♥
Sambora monstro!
I'm here in 2020!!
Me too!
Me too
Me too bud
Me too 😙
I keep coming back to this video since 2012. 🤓❤️
Well done, Jon.
Also: Richie, Richie, RICHIE!!!!
Never die.
Richie sambora sings more than jon in this version !!! really cool stuff !!
He’s always been a MUCH better singer
If it weren't for John essentially destroying his vocal chords day in and day out back in the day when he was CONSTANTLY touring and making albums for us, he'd still be able to sing just as well as he used to. Richie's a great singer in his own right, but John's the one who sacrificed his voice for us during those hectic years throughout the late 80's and 90's. John was the better singer, not by a lot though.
Abraham DeLeon I agree. I like them both but Richie just doesn’t have the star power that Jon has even now. Shame about Jon’s vocal cords, he’s only 57. Steven Tyler’s vocal cords are still okay and he’s 70 years old.
@@cashk100 so true about Steven Tyler. Only a few rock star have their voice
@@melanielazare9 I feel so sad about Jon because he is not ageing very well yet he’s one of the youngest ones. He’s not even 60 yet. He should have slowed down a bit when he started noticing the changes in his voice.
Grande Sambora!!!
I mean - all I can say is that I LOVE this clip. Jon ist good but Richie is AMAZING!!!! That voice...he makes it look sooo easy. And together they sound great. Love ´em. Still. Ever I ´ve been 15 or so...which is a good while ago. Quality endures. :)
A fantastic, acoustic version. I think the vocals are both excellent!
OMG Richie baby you rock! ♥
Richie soooo rules. Amazing voice....he´s the man!!!!
Beautiful acoustic beautiful vocals from the dynamic duo absolutely amazing 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
