This song isnt intended to be "sexual". Its about the objectification of women and women being treated like sexual items in the entertainment industry. Soyean said the term "NUDE" in this isn't about being naked, its about exposing your trueself.. like Marilyn Monroe was seen as a ditzy blonde, but in reality she was extremely smart. But couldn't show that side coz it would of "ruined" her ditzy sexy image..

i’m like a year late but here’s the whole “lore”
1) So basically Soyeon wrote this song herself, a reason was because the way you pronounce the group name is similar to ‘child’ in korean. So when someone searches up ‘child nxde’ their music video comes up and it’s saying “Why do you wanna see that, it’s not right, i’m born this way stop you’re a pervert”
2) The word ‘Nude’ can be expressed many ways, 2/2.5 are expressed in this video, one of them is beauty. When that word is associated with beauty it means my natural self is beautiful because a way of saying you’re “nude” is i’m just me, no plastic surgery, no nothing i’m just my true self. This is found in the parts where they says stuff like “Baby how do I look”(it’s talking about people feeling the need for reassurance) “Even if i’m not loved anymore, shh yes i’m nude” it means no matter what, at the end of the day, i’m me.
3) Being yourself. Another “meaning” of nude is being yourself, like if you have a ‘nude’ personality you don’t change anything about yourself to fit in etc. this is heavily seen through the marylin things because marylin was a blonde girl who was stereotyped to be a dumb blonde but that’s not who she was so she made sure people knew that so marylin never changed anything about herself to ‘fit in’. This is found in the mv and when they say, “Even if i’m not loved anymore, ahh yes im nude,” “hello my name’s yeppi yeppi yo slightly dumb the way a talk but i’ve got a sexy sexy figure.” (the 2nd one is abt stereotypes)
4) Soojin was a big part in this, Soojin really liked marylin and soyeon knew this. She also had blonde hair and in the mv, they all have blonde hair. AND the little animated girl, thats believed to be soojin.
5) Encouragement was also a small part of this. It’s basically saying “I’d rather be hated for being me than be loved for changing myself.” if you read the other reasons it’s obvious how this ties into the song.
Summary:
Nxde is about addressing perverted behavior, being your true self, and soojin appreciation.
Themes:
Being your true self and never changing for someone.
Perverts are bad, it’s an unhealthy way to think.
Nobody can change that they were born a certain way, the only thing you can do is embrace it.

Gotta say. Just gotta say. I love that you know Marilyn Monroe costumes / movies, and burlesque, and other movies like Chicago. Yeah, well done, that's exactly what I-dle is drawing from here, and having that context makes this whole M/V just so much better!
Omgggg shuhua and yuqi...my biases ko'ed me in this era
So, the group's name is pronounced like 'idol'. The reason the (G) is in front is that in Korean the name translates to 'girl idol' and (as I understand it) the 'g' supposed to be silent in english. If you do say it, then "Gee Idol" is probably the closest.
One of the things about this particular release that they said is when perverts try to search for 'girl nude' in search engines, they'll get this music video instead because of the group name and the song name.
The "i-dle" portion of (G)I-dle translates to "children" or "kids" in Korean. So the translation of (G)I-dle is technically "(girl) children" But they only say the (G) when doing their introduction in English. In their Korean introduction they just say I-dle and the (G) is silent.
South Korea is a conservative country, gidle just don't give a f. Like what they said in the chorus hahaha
OH MY GOODNESS YES YES YES!!! First of all sorry that I'm late, second THIS WAS A STATEMENT HOLY COW! The first time I watched this my jaw was just dropped I was legit SPEECHLESS, THEY ALL ARE SO STUNNING- the only thing missing is Soojin (she would've ate, hatred CUBE- and now learning that she loves Marilyn Monroe so much makes it even worse, but I did hear that the cartoon was supposed to be her?!) I legit don't know who looked best they all killed it and when I saw our Maknae Shuhua my heart stopped I needed CPR because WOW she looked PHENOMENAL and her Vocals have improved so much just stunning, Soyeon always just WOW she can step on me and when she started taking off her shirt I was just even more stunned, Minnie ATE her vocals holy cow and just her whole look I just love everything about it and her bangs just UGH, Miyeon is so underrated HOLY COW her Vocals always hit me like a truck and her Visuals- (WHY DO THEY ALL LOOK SO GOOD IN BLONDE) just everything, and Yuqi with the blonde and her DEEP voice AND HER GROWL she can step on me and I'd say Thank You! Anyways I can't wait for you to react to more (G) I-DLE such as more Music Videos, B - Sides, Live Performances, Covers, Dance Practices, Moments, and of course Ships! It's dissapointing you can't truly understand the mv.
In shuhua's part (cuz it's not minnie) the "I see you" is so disrespectful. Why are you sexualizing them? This song is mostly sarcastic. "I'm a nude" refers to being one self with nothing covering us or acting like someone else, aka being with nothing to cover ourselves, the way we truly are. And it's also calling out people who only think dirty like the title "Nude". And she taking off her shirt refers to answering the comments by not caring and just being herself like she is, with no filter.
Next time you should think outside the box and stop having a dirty mind.

Kiana. Listen. For once in your reacting career, let the video end on its own. You missed a small but important part in this video because you keep pausing the videos before they end. This one had a dedication that you missed. WHY do reactors do that?
You see that little slider at the bottom-right of RUclips's video player? It's the button to the left of the CC button? If you slide that little thing to the left, it stops the video from flipping to the next video in the queue, it stops Auto-Play. If you do that on the first video you open for the day, all the videos you open after it will also stop on their own instead of switching to the next video.
