    I like it, but why not stitch further so the bottom doesn’t have a hole like that?

      Hi, good question! There are a couple of reasons. First, veg tan leather doesn't love being creased flat. If you try to stitch that hole closed, there will be increased tension on the thread the closer you get to the fold. That could mean a failure point for the thread later on. Second, if the leather is being creased so tightly that that hole is closed, there is a greater chance of surface cracking unless its wet-formed. You can see other examples of this idea with Craft and Lore's "Port" wallet. I hope that helps!
