I love how you can tell that the zookeepers are actually caring and treating the animals with respect. So many other zoos just treat animals poorly so this is very sweet and I’m glad that they take care of the animals so well

EVERY Damien moment was my favorite
Damien was soo funny in one of the podcasts saying he really wanna meet a Cassowary. I really hoped someone will tell him in Australia that they're the most dangerous birds. I used to work in a Zoo and was always scared to hell by the Cassowaries and by the emus bc they kept following me and the bite is actually very strong and hurts like hell XD
Animal facts are weird, they more potential threat assessment than actual, a lot of it came from WWII stories where there were more warnings about Cassowaries given to the troops, than warnings about the Japanese war effort in the southh pacific region. Don't get me wrong they are a dangerous flightless raptor that could totally kill you, overprotective mothers and go crazy for food that if you get between them and a meal... Two confirmed human fatalities in over 100 years.
From what I remember ostrich bites don't hurt that much, I know from experience, I'm not a zoo keeper or anything I was just a little kid in a zoo who wanted to pet an ostrich
