When they mentioned the inevitable break at 34:52 they were talking about military service. Bts' break will take about 2 years. Seventeen having a lot more members will probably take 4-5 years if not longer. Like bts, Hoshi too worked really hard barely taking a break. And the thought of not working scares him. So glad they talked about it in this episode.

Although only BTS got a 2 year delay from the legislature. That's why Jin got to wait until he was 30, not 28. I thought Suga would have to start his term by his birthday, but maybe he has until the end of the year? I wish someone in South Korea would explain the rules.

    • @carasss7775
      @carasss7775 Год назад +2

@@nconner Men have to enlist by their 28th or 30th (Only in BTS case) year. So for BTS members- can enlist anytime during their 30th year, but you break the law if you still don't enlist after turning 31 (or 29 for all others). It is the confusing loophole that none of the media understood when reporting on Jin's looming enlistment before his Dec. bday. [In Korea the age counting system is already really confusing] He technically could've enlisted anytime in 2022. We know he originally was thinking after MOTS world tour 2020 or 2021, but then Covid and the Dynamite train happened. And then he wanted to go in summer 2022. But he pushed out to Dec 2022. So yes, Suga has all of 2023 before he legally has to enlist. and generally most men enlist during college or shortly after, so avg. recruits are young 20s. KPop males are unique that they build the momentum of their careers in 20s, so they push out as long as possible because they're affecting their entire team, different than male actors. But some Idols do enter early, especially on larger teams where ages are so spread out anyway and guys go in and out of military without necessarily stopping the whole team.

The respect between both is heartwarming to watch and Yoongi is right, Seventeen are indeed very talented and a well-rounded group and as a dancer myself, they always get me so hyped because of their high level of synchronized performances. A youtuber did a computer analysis a while back on the synchronization of all the major kpop boy groups and Seventeen with the most members (13 in total) came on top, which always impresses me

Everyone is recommending "Spider" by Hoshi (which I 1000% cosign) but I also want to suggest checking out the Studio Choom for his song "Tiger" with Tiger JK. That was the dance where you asked "why is he clawing himself?" and the answer is, well, he believes he's a reincarnated tiger and has written like 3 songs of varying seriousness about it so far. But the way he expresses this through the choreography for "Tiger" is truly incredible, you won't believe it's the same person you watched here. As dancers you will never get tired of watching him, he's one of the best dancers in the industry and so humble about it. As a Hobi-biased ARMY, falling for Hoshi was inevitable. Yoongi wasn't wrong to compare them.
I also saw a lot of people recommending The8/Minghao's solo stuff and YES he's an incredible b-boy dancer and has recently been doing more contemporary and lyrical pieces that he choreographed himself. Unbelievably talented. But don't sleep on their maknae, Dino, either. He has a dance series called Danceology where he choreographs pieces for songs that he enjoys, and you will be blown away. Hoshi says he saw Dino perform at a talent show when they were kids, long before they knew each other or were trainees, and said he could tell right then that this kid was going to be a star.
I want to recommend solo dance pieces for their 4th member of Performance Unit, Jun, as well but he's a bit of an odd duck and doesn't do a lot of dance content on his own. He did release an incredible song called Limbo last year that has a stunning music video and an amazing dance practice, so do check that out. He's ethereal and I hope we see more dancer Jun in the future. If you really want to see him (and all of their dancers) shine, look up the Moonwalker/Wave performances from last year's Be The Sun tour. Seeing them live took my breath away.

Concerning what was discussed at the end, I don't think people realize that they never know what someone's going through. Tough love can be an amazing wake up call, but if you don't know the person or where their head space is at, it's extremely disrespectful to assume that you have the place to tell someone they're a waste in any capacity.
I'm so glad you could reflect on that and have accumulated the tools to help yourself now, which is most important. As someone who also experienced some years of severe depression and "falling behind," I understand in my own way how we wish so much that we could've been the comfort that was needed for our past self. Always remember though that you are comforting yourself and you are doing so much for present you in ways that you couldn't before. Keep on keeping on💜

This is going to be a long comment cause i have so many things let you guys know about this precious bond and about Seventeen....
Fam I as waiting for your reaction to this cause you know this was huge for me cause i love both of them so much. This was like my two worlds are colliding. The only interaction of them we had on ISAC. About Hoshi, he almost choreographed every single song for seventeen. He is so strict as a leader and so chaotic outside the practise and all. He is the most extroverted introvert i've ever seen. JK is so close with the 97line of svt and he even went to their recent concert too. Exo, BTS and Seventeen were the extremely popular 3rd gen kpop group in Korea and they were known as EBS
And fun fact: Tae and Joshua (lead vocalist of svt) shares same birthday like 30th dec 1995. They are also close with each other.
About seventeen, they are self producing group debuted in 2015 with 13 members and 3 sub units, Vocal, Hiphop and Performace which makes 1 team. So 13+3+1=17 that's how their group name came. SVT has 3 leaders for each team and one of them is the common leader for the whole svt. WOOZI is the main producer and vocal unit leader (he kinda looks like Yoongi for real) while Hoshi is the choreographer and Performance team leader. SCOUPS is the hiphop team leader as well as SVT leader. There are 2 special subunit too SVT Leaders and BSS stands for BooSeokSoon, consist of 3 members and the name of the group came from the members names. BSS is actually known as gag trio cause when these 3 are together it will be so chaotic.
Yoongi isn't a type who let others rather than than the members enter his studio but he let Hoshi in and he went to their countdown live set and even did their dance challenge together. He also bought meals to him too. He even let hoshi listen his new music too. Yoongi never does this with anyone but hoshi. That much he liked his brother😭😭😭
2:03 It's one of their popular song called Don't Wanna Cry.
2:48 He mentioned it because hoshi says his eyes are like the clock needle when it hits 10.10 time😂
18:01 I highly recommend SVT songs, they got some amazing music with crazy music videos
Recommendations: Left and Right, Home Run, Very Nice, Clap, Hit, Hot, Don Quixote, Falling flower, Kidult, Imperfect love, Darling, Pretty U, Adore you, Rock With You, Ready To Love, Getting Closer, Mansae, Cheers (by SVT Leaders), Spider (Hoshi solo), Oh My
    Svt songs played here:
    2:15 & 28:13 Spider (His solo track)
    5:25 Heaven's Cloud
    8:16 (BGM) World
    11:13 Hot
12:05 Just Do It (First track of BSS)
    15:29 Tiger ( Solo track)
    15:32 Left and Right
    17:42 & 25:46 Don Quixote
    19:25 Hit
    19:52 2 Minus 1

y'all would loose your minds if you watched Hoshi's solo song "Spider!" the choreo is INSANE. Hoshi is just such a great dancer, but also a genius choreographer. He makes a ton of choreo for SVT which is already impressive, but even more so for a 13 member group.
personally, for me PERSONALLY, I think they are the best dance group in Kpop. and thier choreo has a pretty unique style. due in part to Hoshi and the other performance members really being able to put their own personal flair in

I just adore this man and obviously so does Hoshi. Please check out Hoshi's "Spider" DP and also check out THE8 - both of these SEVENTEEN Members would make Hobi proud.

I am loving the way Yoongi is inviting other idols and entertainers in for conversations and mutual appreciation and respect. It's so much fun to see, and I'm definitely taking life lessons away from every episode. I started listening to SVT shortly before PLEDIS joined HYBE, and I was super excited about that move. I am so impressed with their talent and catalog of music. Really can't wait to see who else Yoongi has a chance to drink with before he gets too busy with his tour!

This man COMPLETELY changes. He's only adorably cute onstage when they are doing a Fresh (cute) concept. All other times it's like they released a starved Tiger from his cage because when this man gets on stage HE EATS EVERYTHING.

If you're looking for Seventeen recommendations: Hoshi's dance practice that you admired was from his solo "Spider". Group songs: "Hit" is upbeat, "Don't Wanna Cry" shows their synchronization/fluidity, "Fear" is one of their dark/sexy concepts that highlight their rap/vocals, "Hot" is a recent hit, great MV that won awards in 2022. As with BTS, their dance practices are the gems, and finally, don't be put off by the number of members in the group, it's only 13 [haha]

Armycarats are winning everyday in 2023! I got into BTS 4 years ago and I’ve seen many groups but no other group has had the similar impact on me until I got into Seventeen 2 years ago. I was afraid to love another group but Seventeen are were irresistible to me. They have always been so respectful to BTS and Jungkook is actually quite close with them especially the 3 members of the 97 line, Mingyu, The8 (bboy) and DK. Honestly, they are the group worth checking out with quality of music, choreo choreo choreo, and synchronized choreo at that, insane personality and chemistry, humble and friendly (they probably have the most friends in the industry). I’ve watched this interview so many times and keep crying at how beautiful and fulfilling it feels. I think this is the start of a wonderful friendship that will continue to grow and they will be showing it to us. Yoongi even did his first dance challenge collab and Jimin even talked about Hoshi and posted on Weverse. If anyone can relate to BTS the most, it’s Seventeen.

You guys should definitely react to Seventeen. You will not be disappointed. The write and produce mostly all of their music. And Hoshi is the leader of the performance team (the dance line) so he used to make all of their choreography with their in house choreographer. They are so busy now that he can't do that anymore but the performance team as a whole comes up with their own choreography for their unit. But Hoshi's hand is still in the choreography when it needs to be tweaked to suit seventeen. And he's a drill seargent (he told them once they were off by like 3 degrees or some shit, and he was serious). I personally think he's a huge reason why Seventeen is known as the most synchronized group in kpop. Hoshi is also an all rounder, so he sings, dances and can rap. Seventeen has a leader for each unit (Vocal unit, Hip Hop unit and Performance team) so there are 3 leaders. The leader of the hip hop unit is also the leader of the whole group. The leader of the vocal unit writes and produces all of their music. And the leader of the performance team is in charge of the choreography. Seventeen also has Going Seventeen which is there own version of Run BTS but on steroids because there's 13 crackheads. These are some facts about Seventeen. If I were to suggest a starting point to for seeing what they can do and have to offer, I would probably start with the dingo killing voice performance, "Hot" (the whole group) and "Cheers" (the SVT leaders Hoshi, Woozi and S. Coups) music videos and dance practices. I would also choose throwbacks like Getting closer and Hit music videos and dance practices. I would always suggest you do the dance practices because they are unbelievably good.

I love how Suga is the example of humble here, at first denying and then just marginally allowing that BTS success was the door-opener it was for K-pop l, but also highlighting that Seventeen worked hard to get where they are.
In the same vein, I love how Hoshi is like “no, you need to know - you need to own it, it was you!”
And I love it simply because two things can be true at once:
BTS paved the way into the global market, but Seventeen also had to work to get there - K-pop (or rather BTS) popularity doesn’t automatically grant any other group any status in the western market unless you can back it up with talent, of which SVT has a lot too.
As an avid listener of both these groups, I am so glad for this interaction between them.
Side note: Yoongi apologising for what BTS has done to k-pop , and especially the award ceremonies, is low-key the funniest thing ever.

Seventeen are younger than BTS like their oldest members are vmin's age and there are also many of them so it's probably hard for them all to become super close with BTS. Especially Hoshi and Yoongi since not only is Hoshi younger, but they focus on completely different fields with Hoshi being a choreographer and Yoongi being a producer. It would make sense that Yoongi would be more familiar with Woozi who's a producer and works on SVT's entire discography along with Bumzu (who used to be SVT's vocal teacher as trainees and then also became their producer and composer along with Woozi). But also personality wise they're very different too so I wasn't surprised that this was the first time the two of them sat down and talked.
I know for sure though that Jungkook is best friends with Seventeen's 97line (DK, Mingyu, and The8) and attended Seventeen's concert last year to support them. Seventeen and BTS members are definitely all friendly and familiar with each other because they've interacted every single year for the past 8 years and have spent a lot of time together, but I think it was just hard to become close one-on-one because they're both very busy groups and people; especially since they're also self-producing which means less time to get close to people.

This Suchwita was so heartwarming and special for me 🥺, I've been an Army for years now, and I have listened songs from other Kpop groups, but I wasn't a fan of any, the dedication, charisma, and honesty at making music was hard to find, basically BTS set high expectations for me, but a few months ago I discovered Seventeen and wow! I never thought I would fall for another group like this, they're such talent people, compose and write their own music, a VERY chaotic and funny group, passionate, and their bond is so special too. Their choreographies are mindblowing🤯, I don't know how 13 people can be SO synchronized. I thought they were just another group that had debuted in Hybe, but I was completely wrong, I looked them up and saw their beginnings, how difficult it was for them to start in a small company, they definitely won my heart. Also idk why but CARAT are the most chill/positive fandom I have ever seen on social media. I hope someday you can look them up, even if it is outside the reaction channel, I feel their vibe is going to match yours perfectly, the Killing Voice video is a great way to get introduce, my fav SVT songs are Kidult and To You.
