Little known fact...I was one of the Senior Engineers on the first bit of the A14 to be built from Cranford to Thrapston. At the Cranford end, we had to build the dual carriageway, cover it with a protective layer of stone, then build a roundabout on top as the 'end' of the A14. It was at about 22:30 in the vid by the black information sign. Traffic used a spur to connect to the old A605, which is just left of the buildings on the left. When the next section was built, bypassing Kettering, they took the roundabout out and connected on to the carriageways below!
sslaxx The Catthorpe interchange (M6/M1 junction) has had traffic lights on for several years - the main reason being that A14->M1 traffic needs to cross M6->A14 traffic. The whole junction is currently being remodelled to remove the traffic lights and roundabouts and build free-flowing sliproads which should be a major improvement - due to open late 2016. You'll be able to go A14->M6 and A14->M1(N) and vice versa without slowing down.

I don't have the car anymore, but it was a VW Jetta - but I think the position of the camera probably made it sound a bit different.
