I’m thinking of moving to an intergas boiler and will run it as open therm but it will be a heat only boiler. Wondering if the opentherm is smart enough to distinguish if it needs heating (

Thanks for the demo. Maybe helpfull to show as well that if there was a previous binding how to clear this. I had to use clr before it would bind again to a zone. The manual is not so easy to follow. But there are some QR codes to find extra info

I have checked with Resideo and this is a production issue where they are testing the thermostats in the factory but not clearing them, so they are effectively coming out 'bound' and you are having to clear them using 'CLr' first. The procedure we have shown is correct and once Resideo have rectified the issues will work fine.

    Thanks for the video.
I have a zoned Evohome system connected to a combi boiler via an R8810A opentherm relay. Evotouch is running as the temperature sensor in the living room, a Y87RF as a temperature sensor in the master bedroom and elsewhere it's HR92s.
I would like to replace the Evotouch as the sensor in the living room with a standalone temperature sensor for better accuracy/comfort and I wanted to confirm if the DT4R linked above is the correct sensor for my requirements? Many thanks.

      Yes it would work fine.

Is it possible to add the DT4R to an existing zone without having to rebind the TRVs? If a rebind is necessary can it be done without deleting the device/zone?

Yes you can do this. Give tech support a call and they can help you with this - 0300 130 1299 option 3.

@@MWPHS thanks. My order turned up yesterday and I managed to work it out despite the Ikea-style manual 🤣 Thanks for the super quick delivery. May order a couple more shortly.

I have an issue with this setup. Because both radiators are quite enclosed the demanded temperature is reached much earlier close to the radiator instead of the sensor in the room, and the controllers on the radiators are being closed automatically when they reach the requested temp. How can this be fixed?

    • @MWPHS

Just setup an external sensor using a DT4R and evohome would use this as a temp sensor instead of the sensor on the HR91/HR92.

@@MWPHS well, I now use the round wireless sensor from honeywell (T87RF2025). But it seems the sensor in the HR91 is overruling the round wireless sensor

Hi, do the TRVs monitor the temperature of the room or the water passing through the radiator?

    • @theheatingconsultant

When the HR91 or HR92 is bound as an actuator, it simply controls the flow of water into the radiator. They can be bound as the sensor and then they control the flow of water and act as a room sensor.

The smart TRV's detect air temperature.

Is it possible to set up a room with two radiators with only 1 hr92 as actutor and sensor, and 1 hr91 as actuator for the other radiator? Thanks for your answer

Thanks for the review, is it possible to mix a different model valve control with the evohome, eg. A nest valve control with honeywell evohome?

No not possible to do this.

Can the room stat be locked in the same way that the trv head can?

    • @MWPHS
      @MWPHS  9 месяцев назад +1

You can temperature limit the range of the temperature sensor (DT4R) bound to an evohome zone, but you cannot lock it from adjustment like you can with HR91's or HR92's.
