I use a larger old game token and a pair of pliers in the side cover/plug slots just to brake the covers loose. The token fits the dished out curve/slot perfectly! A larger coin would work just as well! Once the cover is loose I use a larger screwdriver to remove the cover/plug the rest of the way. Hope this helps.
@@bolanbuilt5903 I get my 190 Monday so I'll have to check it and my other bike. What carb are you using or would you suggest? My new bike comes with a 28mm nibbi on the zs190 and my old bike (125) is none adjustable.
For sure check the valves. Mine only 212 where extremely tight. I run the 28mm on my 212 and so far it's the better performer out of 30-34mm as far as feel and 1/4 miles times/speed.

Are the valves out of spec from new?
On every new engine I've gotten yes. Very very badly out of spec
