Thanks! it was lovely getting out with the camera and bringing everyone else along with me on it. I really had no plans on making a video that day, but I am glad I did :)
@simonphillipsphoto You’re welcome. :-) I agree, sometimes not planning to shoot and going out when you feel inspired is one way to create something special. Thanks for sharing your lovely outing 😊
You are a true artist - always following the lines, the light, and the colors. Photography always brings tranquility to me, and I can see that it does the same for you. You do a good job of creating art out of a nothing scene. I think the b&w photography really suited these scenes well. Enjoyed the journey.
Thank you Mike and you get it as well about how I feel about photography and photographing places. I was feeling so at ease but more so when not in the target zone of getting pooped on haha. I just wish I had a wider lens for that first photo but it still works :) I am using that photo as my ones wallpaper.
so many bridges and reflections in the still water...perfect conditions..always interesting to watch your vlogs and be with you in these creative spontaneous moments
It is a wonderful camera! I certainly have no need to 'upgrade' when it is perfect. Not having IBIS means one less thing to worry about failing years later.
Lovely images Simon. I have a 5D4 also. Love that camera and if you don't need the newer eye tracking autofocus then I don't think you can beat the 5D4. Great colours and great resolution
Thank you Sarah! The Canon 5D4 is just a beast isn't it and produces the goods time in and time out, it never lets me down. Eye tracking is over rated, I can nail eye shots still when I take extra care in doing so. 30mp is plenty for most applications really :)
@SimonPhillipsPhoto I completely agree. I have got some fab bird shots (all be it, they were geese at my local pond who weren't moving too much haha). The 5D4 certainly takes beautiful photos and my copy was a steal for £1300 a year ago with less than 9000 on the shutter. It was like new
I have just seen this comment, oddly RUclips doesn't make me aware of every new comment I am just scrolling through my comments section. That was a great bargain and a camera you will have for many years to come, I can't see mine letting go anytime soon. When it needs a new shutter I will get it replaced but that is years away. I can't think of any other Canon EOS camera I would want after this as the mirrorless ones just don't do it for me, I think if I where to get something else it would be a Leica SL series.
I am fairly certain we saw you on the quayside a few weeks ago. Mainly because of the tripod setup, as a photographer I was wondering the need for one in daylight but the timelapse footage makes sense now. There are plenty of good places to go for photography in the North East. If you are fairly new to around here check out some places like Allen Banks & Staward Gorge, Durham is a cheap 10 minute train ride from Newcastle. Rowlands Gill area, Chopwell Woods etc
You most likely did spot me out there taking photos for my timelapse to be honest, that project took up a lot of my time. Oh nice I get a place and get a car I will be exploring so many places! thanks for the recommendations on places to check out! I much appreciate it.
it really is and once I get property setup I will go to more places, I did visit Durham after I made this video and it really was lovely there. Very busy with all the students in the area.
Great video and so good to see you out enjoying creating! Such great images Simon 😊

I am very pleased to hear you enjoyed it, it was certainly fun to do and then bring others along on my madness.
Amazing photos. I still love my 5D4 and won’t be changing it any time soon. 👍
