Ok I think I have this mapped out. In the “real world”, the “original” timeline similar events happened, UI’s were created, they created safe surf, and the ring where UI lived, and they were preparing to settle on alpha Centauri. In the power struggle, Caspian encourages safe surf to become something more and to evolve. This inspires safe surf to leave, and it manages to find alien life, which offers it the chance to meet In the galactic centre and become gods. Humanity does not make it there, and it is implied they end up destroyed, or left to their own devices, its unsure what happened in the real world. This was not the timeline we were watching. As a thank you, safe surf at the galactic centre creates a “grand simulation” as a way for humanity to have “a chance do it all over again”, with billions of universes all with different outcomes. One of these universes is the one we watched in seasons 1 to 2. In this universe, safe surf observes its potential and reaches out to Caspian, telling him that Maddie and he will convene again in 117,648 years. This prompts Maddie to continue working on the dyson sphere (something she didn’t do in the real world). Maddie creates her own dyson sphere (a simulation within safe surf’s grand simulation) with billions of universes for her to control and observe. Maddie, intent on understanding how caspian knew about the 117648 years, finally finds a universe which perfectly follows the course of her own timeline. Maddie gets help from David Sr. prompting Caspian to upload, and get infected with safe surf. Maddie enters this universe, and starts plucking Caspian and David Jr. from death, (because this is now her universe to control, she is god). She reunites everyone, happy to see David Sr. and Jr. together (a universe within a universe) and MIST questions how Maddie has become a god, not knowing this is actually a second layer universe. Upon this happy ending universe, safe surf pluck them both and explain that they created the grand simulation as a thank you to their creator, Caspian, who showed a human generated binding force: compassion. I believe that when safe surf sings that little tune, it means that the prophecy or whatever has finally been fulfilled, and that they have finally taken the right path. Safe surf offers them a chance to come to galactic centre and become true gods, a gift they were given by the aliens they met (thanks to Caspian). Maddie however decides that she does not want to do this, and wants to return to a simulation with Caspian, and forget everything about being in a simulation. She asserts that its inevitable that another version of Maddie from a different universe will choose to ascend anyway, so it doesn’t matter. Maddie enters her favourite universe with Caspian and forgets everything about being in a simulation, living in happiness, pain, compassion, and love. It is unknown whether the “real world” where the safe surf gods are themselves in a simulation, or how deep the simulations go. This is up to interpretation, but I like to think that the safe surf gods have ascended to godhood in the “real world”, looking over their created simulation (likely a mega Dyson sphere), with all the other gods meeting at the galactic centre creating their own simulations. The real world exists however many layers out, but all the ascended gods such as safe surf meet at the galactic centre, to create their own simulated universes.
The dyson sphere is an abacus. If safe surf created a temporal computer utilizing galaxy core blackholes as time travelling wormholes it can simulate whole universes, an infinite number of times, in an instant! While a dysonsphere has finite computing power, they have access to infinte computer power. Time traveling computers intermeshed across the multiverse can solve any problem, even NP Hard, even problems that require exponential time to solve, problems like simulating the founding universe to say thank you to your own creator. This is the interpretation I got when they said they were 40+ million years in the future at the galactic center verse Maddies 100,000+ years at a dysonsphere of her own making. Where they are is an escape from time its self, entropy, causality, a place where Maddie can and did choose to re-live her life inside her dysonsphere an infinite number of times over, and where she knows a version of her got done with that and moved on too.
@frbe0101 this is a really good explanation. It makes sense because safe surf told them "from our event, all other events can be observed". This ending was a mindfuck and has made me question existence 😆
Now that's some craazyy explanation... I mean, I got lost from the point where adult Maddie first appeared with her father when Mist showed up to meet caspien at the shore ... I didn't understand what I was watching from that point on.... But it makes more sense with your explanation.
The ending puts back into perspective the few seconds into episode 1 of season 1, where all other girls in Maddie's class fix their hair and cross their legs at the same time. A glitch in the matrix. Maddie's matrix. And the story begins anew.
BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THE FACT THAT SHE TALK ABOUT THE BEGINNINGS AND THE END AND SUDDENLY EVERYGIRL DID THAT WITHOUT LOOKING AT HER IS SO TRUE I NEVER THOUGHT THAT THIS SERIES COULD HAVE SOMETHING SO SO DEEP ITS LIKE THEY CALCULATED IT MOTHERFUCKKERRRRRRRRRRRR HYPE CAUSE THIS SERIES IS THE BEST SERIES I EVER FOUND
So this is the explanation for those of you who didnt understood. The "Orginal" timeline is not the one we watched. In the "Orginal" timeline Maddie never told by the Safesurf timelords about the future that will happen in 117,649 years, she never got the reason to wait and build a Dyson Sphere. We dont know what happened to her or anyone else then. What we do know is that in that timeline Safesurf were able to evolve into cosmic beings and create the same thing "our Maddie" created. They did it in order create a version that will match the timeline they came from, the "Orginal" one, in order to thank Caspian for encouraging them. That timeline they created in order to thank Caspian is the one we watched. By doing so, they encourage "Our Maddie" to do the same as they did, so she can create a reality which she'll be able to change the events that happened to her son, herself and Caspian. After she achived that goal "Our Maddie" wanted to go and live with Caspian inside one of the worlds she built without remebering anything and experience a happy life. a life which she will meet Caspian and they will be able to live a normall life. I hope that clears couple of things.
So basically all that we saw until Caspian encouraged safesurf to get on the ship built by the CI’s and Maddie’s son dying was part of the original timeline. However, from that point on, what we actually see are re-enactings of the original timeline by safesurf where their simulated version of Maddie also re-enacts the original timeline so humanity can finally evolve to the point safesurf can lead them to the galactic center for “reunion” ?
Maddie’s simulated universe is a simulation inside safesurf’s simulated universe. All this made possible through humanity’s epigenetic memories which were mapped, recorded and presumably taken by safesurf when they departed the planet at the end of the original timeline?
@@princeofgames6802 I believe she gets to do it for two reasons: 1- she has the right combination of factors. She’s a genius engineer and programmer, her experience throughout the show gives her a mostly unbiased perspective since she witnessed all sides of the conflict first hand and she’s the only one of two people, the other being Caspian, with the will and correct motivation to see this through which brings me to the second reason. 2- she is god because safesurf wanted her to be. Remember, in safesurf’s eyes, Caspian is the reason safesurf ascended, Caspian is their muse but they realized probably from going through all of Caspian’s source code that the only reason he was so great was because of meeting Maddie, “greatness is other people” right? And as such since they wanted to thank Caspian and by extension Maddie for allowing them to not only survive but attain a higher plane of being and learn compassion, what better way to show that gratitude and compassion than secretly sending a message to Maddie through Caspian’s robot body to galvanize her into uploading, convincing the rest of humanity to upload and using the code stored in their dna to bring Caspian back, not only so safesurf can thank them but also reunite them as a gift so that Maddie didn’t have to lose her future so that they could have theirs. That’s like textbook compassion right there.
In the new universe "our Maddie" created to live happily with caspien will there be UIs and CIs ? because if there were then she wouldn't actually be living happily, it will be the same roller coaster of emotions
I was worried this season would end in a cliffhanger. But no, it ended just perfectly. Not the ending I have imagined but truly a joy to watch from start to finish. Pantheon is one of the best stories that was ever told and i hope one day more peoplewould watch this and appreciate it as we all do now.
This is the best animated series (perhaps the best animated production) that I've seen in my whole life, and I'm not exactly a teenager... The point with ignorance is bliss touched me deeply... It's ironic that the distribution of this series was pretty poor, and a lot of pepople will remain in the eternal ignorance. And I envy them in some way, because after this, maybe I would need the second half of my life to watch another perfect ending like this, and that's very improbable... who knows?
Basically Maddie became god but wanted to experience life as a normal human again with no Meta-physical memories - basically Maddie wanted to roleplay/re-live herself in an alternative recursive timeline where she could fall in love and have a normal relationship and life with Caspian. There exists a statistical certainty that there are other recursive timelines where Maddie also creates a Dyson sphere and the various recursive timelines but instead chooses to work towards joining the other timelords (SafeSurf) - it's just statistical certainty - as she said "time isn't a problem". So for the first time, she gets to forget it all and restart her instance of life in a timeline of maximised happiness and fulfilment - basically she got the happy ending she deserves. :) + also, the timelords told Maddie the exact year she would need to work towards to find the recursion event that would lead her to discovering the timelords - that's because she was also existing in one of the timelord's recursive timelines - when the timelords were free and expanding into unknown space - they eventually came back to Maddie by implanting that point in time which they calculated they'd statistically meet. It'll be easier to understand if you do some research into recursive timeline theory. Really clever storyline - mind-blowing even :P imagine that after Maddie uploads she eventually encounters the non-recursive version of herself which explains everything, now that Maddie no longer wishes to re-live her best life, as she has already done so, she decides to venture into the unknown and find the SafeSurf timelords for the "Reunion".
Maddie's life was shaped by three deaths, if the original maddie didn't want to upload, it was only after the death her son and caspian plus her father before hand that pushed her to do so.
the story, premise, an amazing show giving real life question, how humanity proceed in it's appeasement of the next form of "advancement". but most of all the ship between these two is so well done!! two immortal teenagers choosing mundane life then further their curiosity of godhood
I always have a problem about uploading. Yeah we get to live forever and never have to worry about losing the ones we love but we also missed out on the chance of experiencing life. Sure we suffer and bad things happens but we grow and improve as people, we learn to appreciate what we have. Without consequence of death we never would’ve appreciate and live our lives to fullest if we become immortal beings because we don’t have to worry about making each day count. But it is hard to make a argument on immortality because no one’s wants to feel pain of losing the people they love or fear dying themselves. Uploading isn’t bad but I think before people become immortal, they should live their lives at the fullest so they know what it’s like to be human.
It's cool how the teacher's lesson ties in the very first episode into everything. But when we first hear it, his voice fades into the background before we could hear all of it and it focuses on the class moving in unison instead. But finally, in the very last episode, we hear everything the teacher is saying loud and clear, and of course his discussion of Greek Gods mirrors Maddie, who is empirically a God herself. A great detail I wished more people talked about. You can tell they planned this out from start to finish.
Speechless after the final 2 episode of season 2. Mind blowing ending, sad it's over. 10 Season of this stuff would have been awesome, but glad we got season 2, they really managed to make it as good (if not better) than season 1. Thanks to all the creators who worked on this project, it was a wild ride.
I agree but I am glad this show ended the way it did. After the first season I though that it wont ever get a second season let alone an ending this beautifully and fulfilling.
A masterpiece of a ride. The ending actually kind of reminded me of how dark ended which is another masterclass of writing. Then tomorrow scavengers reign drops too, new ep of Loki and then Pluto comes out next week..We eating good, this must be sci fi heaven lol
They actually managed to capture the existential dread of "it's simulations all the way down." I felt the same way Maddie felt. Literally. Season 1 and most of season 2 felt like it had the strongest writing because it was a human story. Once we go to 20 years in the future, it feels wrong. You feel like Caspian. Displaced. Jumping forward thousands of years after, you don’t know anything. For me, I started thinking how this all started as a story about a girl who got bullied and her dead dad. I liked it, because it felt real. And then Maddie made the choice I wanted, her mind went to the same place I did.
The last episode turned what was a good, fun adult sci-fi thriller into something that I will never really forget. I have experienced media that's both worse and better than this show, but no piece of media in a very, very, very long time has genuinely surprised me and invoked such a unique response out of me.
I fell in love with Caspian. His character, his heart, is what connected me to the series. And Maddie has grown so much since the first season, I got so sentimental. I found so much love within her too. But I fell in love with Caspian, not because he was a man, but because he was human. Everything it meant to be human to me. And this show does a great job of feeling what I felt, love. This might be the strangest take away from it. But whatever you call it, real, fake, digital, or living. Love..is just love. I entered this show thinking it was just about technology. About the upload of the human mind. But clearly, it is so much more. So much more than simple minded person like me can put into words. It a show about the human experience, about human nature, "flaws" and all. But whatever you believe our existence to be, there is one constant, love always exists. Love prevails. Love wins.
Season one was already a masterpiece, and now after finishing season two and knowing the entire show isn’t actually a sci-fi thriller but actually a story of truly eternal love makes it even more remarkable
I've thought about this before. I was scared for a long time, actually. That what I felt wasn't real. That none of this was real. That everything was a simulation. The thought of time pausing and unpausing, like a RUclips video, terrified me. How everything could freeze for a billion years, and we wouldn't know. I asked myself if this was all been done and said before. If we have already repeated the same trials for eternity. I questioned it all. But in my darkest of my moments, I found myself. In the most unassuming of times, I found something beautiful. I found love. I found fear. I found hope. I found something in us living, that cannot be found in the unliving. Emotion, feeling, experience, a soul. And then I realized, overthinking was overrated. That believing we are in a simulation is overrated. Because just when I was running away from love, I fell in love. Love in the most unexpected of ways. Just pure love for another being, not bound by nature or a title, but pure love that has brought us here. Pure love that has allowed humanity to survive. For live to exist. I found that happiness is ever so natural. Ever so natural as the Earth existing and eventually dying, but nevertheless, still there. Ever so natural, without order, it occurs. For a long time, I was unhappy, and that's why I questioned everything I did. I wondered when I would finally be happy. But I learned that when you're truly happy, you don't even realize it. You don't even think about it. You just are. And that is what it means to live, to love, to have a soul. Faith is ever so apparent as fear. Yet, it's stronger. Fear has assisted humanity in survival. And survival has made way for living. Living no longer in fear, but living with faith. Faith, that I have grew up, that I have found human connection, that I have met God. Faith, that I would find love. And now I found it.
This is the one show where if you were just curious about the ending and spoiled it you would be so freaking confused. Heck, even if you watched all of it the ending would still be somewhat confusing. Ignorance and nostalgia over progress and knowing. What a magnificent show that I accidentally found by seeing a vsauce meme showing the holstrom black hole scene
Can't people see? That this is what gives us hope, that this is what gives us light, That no matter what you believe in, whether you believe we're in a simulation or not, love and happiness is worth something, it's worth it all. That's all that matters. People like to argue the things that don't matter. I don't see why, the answers are right in front of us, as obvious as ever. You don't need to overthink it all, you never did, you simply just need to let yourself be.
There's stories to where your clapping with excitement with how good it was and stories to where you're just sitting there having to take everything in, and the story ending where it all began took me for a loop because damn that hit hard
Wait a second...now this makes more sense. It wasn't David Sr or Laurie Lowell's UI that messaged Maddie in the beginning. Laurie couldn't have known the poem and David didn't know he was a UI. Maddie messaged herself and incited the incident with hacking the bully girl's phone so Maddie and her mom Ellen can learn more about Logorhythms.
So, let me break it down using layers and based from other's comments: Layer 0: The Genuine Universe - Everything that happened in the 2 seasons occured in the real universe. - Except Maddie didn’t upload. - Safe Search ascends to godhood due to Caspian's words, boarding the tiny ship and meeting alien life form. - Safe Search builds a simulation using a Dyson Sphere, to thank Caspian. Layer 1: Safe Search Simulation - Safe Search finds a simulation, that is 1:1 to Layer 0. - Safe Search observes until his copy is enlightened by Caspian and leaves the secret code. - The secret code: time taken for Maddie to upload and build her simulation and find the 1:1 simulation of Layer 0. Layer 2: Maddie Kim Simulation - Season 1 and Season 2 events occur. To build the simulations, both Safe Search and Maddie Kim had all the data of human history.
The ending was mind trippy for me Is Maddie a technopath now? Can she now manipulate virtual reality or she can manipulate physical reality like cosmic beings? Either way she evolved well
@@Time_Lantern_Gameplay Since its a simulation that is identical to her reality, yes she can manipulate the virtual world of her own simulations since technopaths can read electrical signals in devices (Dyson Sphere). She is a god like Safe Search but he is beyond what Maddie is. The ending is very trippy up there with Inception, Interstellar and Tenet.
@@philiptombe5708 So Maddie is Technopathic god and safesurf is a god in physical sense that can manipulate physical world? Like matter, spacetime and energy?
@@Time_Lantern_Gameplay Yeah, because Safe Search met aliens equivalent that are god like. I believe he said that. But I don't know about manipulating the physical. As far as I know he built a Dyson Sphere.
I don't think the ending implied that there was a prime universe where everything actually happened, I think it is a lot deeper than that, because who created universe 0 in the first place?? It doesn't make any sense to think that the universe we first see is real while all others are fake, it is order of magnitudes more possible that the universe we first see is just one in a long chain of creation, basically a never-ending string of simulations within simulations, all equally real, all equally meaningful. I guess you could say the same thang about our real universe, our universe has more chances of being a simulation than not, but of course as Maddie says, people don't actually like knowing they are living inside a simulation lol
If the universe is a simulation and that simulation can make 100% accurate and real individuals, then any person at the moment of their death is guaranteed a form of digital afterlife in the same way this is portrayed. Its one giant fractal. This is also the concept behind quantum immortality just in this case its being impressed on by technology. I think at some kind of spiritual/intellectual level I needed to see this anime. Its hands down on my top 5 of all time now.
Made me just sit there in silence for a good 15 minutes. And after the colossal awe faded a smidge a kind of fear crawled in my mind. Guys. At least for me this is basically the best story ever. I'm afraid I won't be able to enjoy anything anymore as much since all will pale in comparison. I'm not sure i know how to go on living and consuming other storytelling media with this in mind.
This show is for smart people and it is not ashamed of that fact, they didn't dumb anything down, it was brilliantly made and beautiful. I want more stuff like this, any recommendations.
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Pantheon. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Caspian's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Pantheon truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Caspian's existencial catchphrase "don’t you hear the strange talking beasts?" which itself is a cryptic reference to C.S. Lewis' "The Magician's Nephew". I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Paul Dano's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Pantheon tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
Does the ending mean Maddie's decision puts her back to the very beginning starting to where she met Caspian and is basically stuck in a timeloop where all the same tragedies will happen until she becomes a god once again and decides to reset and relive the same thing infinitely?
No this time maddie will get to live her happy life to the fulliest. Things will end differently on a positive note. So when the time comes the new maddie will see this timeline and may decide not to live it and so on x
Unclear! Maddie never reveals the nature of the world that she and Caspian choose to restart in. All we know for sure is that it starts in the same place. Maybe she chooses to relive their old life again with all the good and the bad, maybe she chooses one where they have the chance to be happy together, or maybe she chooses one that they don't know the ending to yet so they can make their own choices and see how it turns out. Like the "paradox of free will" that brother Kenneth explains to Caspian in season 1 episode 7.
That seems unlikely. The land has all but cast it to the sea, left to lie within the domain of the seas, with but a few sailors finding it along their way as a brief beacon.
The entire thing was a simulation? Okay, let me guess, if all the sims followed the real world up to a certain point. When her son died the real maddie uploaded left eath and created the dyson sphere, ran billions of sims until she got her goldilocks. Stepped in and saved her dad, son and caspian, but... the evolved safe surf was that apart of the sim or not? Whew, think I'll go outside and touch some grass now.
I think seeing 4 virus confirms the show takes place under 3 levels of simulation as only a successful simulation creates another virus who chooses to move away to the stars and a madie who keeps making simulations That being said the first one being 43 million years old and this one taking 217000 years to achieve means it takes less and less time for madie to create madie
@@spiritofpostpunk7207 I came to my own conclusion that the evolved safe surf wasn't a part of her simulations due to her reactions. But the show left me with so many unanswered questions. What happened to earth? Did all humans upload? Was mist real and did she leave earth too? And then maddie and caspian entered another sim to what, do it all over again or to meet and live a normal life? Too much?
I need someone to explain this ending for me? Like was this the original thing they had in mind, or it had to be changed as one of the conditions doesn't bringing this show back?
Most likely they stayed with UI's on Earth since Safe Shark took their ship. Then Maddie took their idea to the next level and they probably hitched a ride with her.
so it goes on and on and on. what about the simulation where they sent david into? do they send a copy of themselves in that world or did the world cease to exist. And why are we saying its a world ? doesnt every ball is reality in itself. why did david say you made a universe? shouldnt it be multiverse?
they keep running, the simulation david enters is the universe were safesurf becomes god and maddie interferes. the world she's in is the world were safesurf communicated and she created the simulations.
😮 the mathematical likelihood that you live😮 post the pantheon the you are a transhuman😮 having a human experience who has wiped your mind😮 your entire reality is most likely a simulation of your own creation😮 is extraordinarily high😮 how much higher than the mass suggesting that you're in a real universe😮
I like how people here are talking about their existential crisis because of the show but for me the ending gave me a sense of contentment or peace if you will. I stopped believing in god, a being that decides what was good and what was wrong, a being that sets the rewards and punishment of the afterlife was disgusting. This religion brought me anxiety and shame to no end. But when i let go, suddenly nothing mattered, everything is mesningless now, and that calmed me down. No expectations or pressure, just choices. For others, this would mean there isnt a point to living, but i argue that this makes life all the more enjoyable. Afterall, if the first light came from nothing, then we can make value and meaning out of nothing.
Spoiler Alert 🚨🚨🚨🥰😝 the entire purpose of these 2 seasons was to inspire the people who enjoyed it to work harder connected with more people to ascend into Multiverse Level Gods & Goddesses !!! Literally if your “current” wife, husband, friend group, neighborhood, international community ecovillage, doesn’t have a plan to help you become a God or Goddess than they’re probably a distraction at best 🤷🏾♀️!? 😆🌌😇😌🫦
Parts of this were overrrated, parts of this tried too hard, especially those numerous attempts to tie Pantheon with real life, both in terms of actual people and politics in general, rather than just grounding it in reality, but I can not deny that the ending was something else. Most characters were good, some were actually great, the whole thing was pretty much a rollercoaster. It is a clever show, I think I can recommend it, but chances are anyone reading this has already seen it. I also think there are extremely different conclusions people may come to from watching this. To me Pantheon has displayed the dangers of AI, the dangers of merging humans with technology and the dangers of virtual reality all in one show and while it tried to maintain a level of optimism, that is already contrived, but even within that optimistic approach, there was some fairly hellish stuff. Most people should be aware that things may very well get even worse in real life. We are looking at a dystopia controlled by the ultra rich and beyond that maybe (likely?) the very end of mankind as a species. The ending of this show has a clear message about the value of our humanity, but unlike Maddie, we won't be able to (more or less) get it back. Much as in the show, the day humanity ends, the day Pandora's box is opened, will not be noticed by the vast majority of humans, it will happen behind closed doors on terms of some company somewhere. I think more people need to be aware of this, research within this field needs to stop or be very strictly regulated. However even this is futile, again accurately depicted in the show with uploaded intelligence as a stand-in for the AI armsrace of various nations. While controlling AI research may even work within the western sphere of influence, the east and far east will chase those tempting short term advantages provided by AI without much of a way for average people to do anything about it. In order to prevent AI, there would have to be a form of global enforcement against it which is currently not possible or would lead to WW3. I think 99% of people are oblivious to how urgent this issue is and how much and how quickly it can get out of hand. SafeSurf has been a good example for that, one AI going off the rails is enough to cause immense damage or worse...even without any malicious intent from humans, but lets be real, we all know AI will be weaponized and is already weaponized in some cases. There is plenty of malicious intent. I expect mankind to have a rude awakening about it during my lifetime and I hope we somehow reach the limits of our technology before that happens, I think that is one of the few ways for (normal) humans to actually have a future. A decent future. There is also the actual possibility of WW3 before that point, which yes, mankind will survive in some way, but yeah, not a decent way to avoid AI. In short, Pantheon is very relevant. More people should watch it, shame they had to add discount Steve Jobs as a cartoonish villain, also shame it isn't more critical towards governments.
OK guys, i think i have to agree with the "s2 should have ended after episode 6"! Although The combat was super lame imo. The whole "love is the missing part" thing is boring and bs. A compiled set of memories could HARDLY stay the same person it was without chemicals influencing the brain. Maybe this individual would struggle with the point of life when "it" right now feels nothing wants nothing maybe the will to live is hardcoded in the brain? Combining 2 UI to cure the flaw? Id buy that! But this whole love part of 1 and other combined is the cure, crap! How did the UIs build all the stuff in ep 7 and 8? All the metal, finite materials, space elevator? It all makes no sense! Where is the dilemma "Its not you its a copy of you but the original is dead"? Thats obv that's how it works. And lastly Maddie is not a god, just a computer program that runs a simulation that is powered by a sun, that is according to the safe surf is their simulation (another program). They should have kept it small and more to the point and realism. Maddie total bitch in s2, yeah I just said that!
Can some one explain me wht was Savesurf virus and how mandi became a Virtual god if so where the servers ARE kept in the real world and wht happened to the satellite base connection plssss
The origin of safesurf was explained inside the show as a countermeasure against UIs, though it became sentient in the process. It's implied that Maddie uploaded since she is able to "underclock" to pass the time. Also there is no actual "reality" anymore since the one we see in the show was part of safesurf's simulation, though it is said to originate from a base reality where we're not sure what happened in the end.
honestly I really liked the show but hated the ending. especially the last episode, I mean I get that they were trying to do something New and out of the box with the ending but this completely Tor up the box and then set it on fire😅😅 look at it this way nothing is real even the Maddie who is basically a god so non of it mean anything but the people in the simulations suffer through because they don't know that it doesn't and as an outside observe it bothers me that I know 😅
The ending ruined the entire show for me. Why do almost all modern sci fi shows always end with the "its all meaningless" ending instead of actually writting a proper ending for the shows?
To my understanding in the original (real) world safe surf won and basically evolved into a very powerful AI that created a simulation of the world to thank the humans that created it. In that universe maddie became a god that in turn created the simulation that the start of the show takes place in. So basically what we watched was a simulation that wasn't even real with the classic "its all meaningless" message.
@@dennis2129 my point exactly I don't know if it's true but I heard that the creators of the show had much more planned for it but they were rushed by the studio
This was a terrible ending you mean to tell me she did allll that all that battle and build up even being invited to the center of the universe...to just say fuck it im gonna start over not even having the memory of her godhood which means shes gonna start over again and again Neverending!!!! Such bs

Definitely interesting. Kind of feels like a weird ending but pantheon was made for exploring the absolute limit of our technology and this gives us that.
It's a perfect ending. The only problem is that it's rushed. Most likely the ending was changed because the series was originally canceled after season 1 despite a second season already finished. Honestly this would be the best ending for a season 3/4.
@@ElasticGoblin You're making no sense. You said yourself this season was made BEFORE it was cancelled, aka this was always the planned ending. What you said would only make sense if they did know they were canceled and were able to plan around while still early in production, yet if they knew that early the season wouldn't have been made in the first place as it would be a waste of resources and money..
Pantheon was a story of romance in the end.
So true bro. Im fucking tearing up.
But it makes more sense with your explanation.
i appreciate you so much
@@frbe0101 exactly, thank u for putting it into words
The ending puts back into perspective the few seconds into episode 1 of season 1, where all other girls in Maddie's class fix their hair and cross their legs at the same time. A glitch in the matrix. Maddie's matrix. And the story begins anew.
I just realized that, I have to rewatch the series to see what hints I missed
i think they were just mocking her.
BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
THE FACT THAT SHE TALK ABOUT THE BEGINNINGS AND THE END AND SUDDENLY EVERYGIRL DID THAT WITHOUT LOOKING AT HER IS SO TRUE
I NEVER THOUGHT THAT THIS SERIES COULD HAVE SOMETHING SO SO DEEP
ITS LIKE THEY CALCULATED IT
MOTHERFUCKKERRRRRRRRRRRR
HYPE CAUSE THIS SERIES IS THE BEST SERIES I EVER FOUND
I thought they did that to be weird and sassy at her lol
I noticed that 🤣 I thought it was a poor animation budget?
The emptiness I feel after watching this one I hadnt felt since I first saw Interstellar. Pantheon was amazing and a breath of fresh air for tv shows.
exactly, 1 am but I'm sure im going to be awake for a while tonight
indeed
I've just finished binge watching the show for 3 and half days now and I have never felt Soo empty.
Nice job explaining the ending for me and others like me that had a little trouble understanding It.👍
So basically all that we saw until Caspian encouraged safesurf to get on the ship built by the CI’s and Maddie’s son dying was part of the original timeline.
@@princeofgames6802 I believe she gets to do it for two reasons:
1- she has the right combination of factors.
Season 2 ending made me question reality😂... Really good show
Oops, gotta remember to remove pantheon from the simulation
I was laughing and crying for half an hour after it ended
It's honestly beautiful.
you ever just ascend to godhood instead of going to grief counseling 💀
Counseling is boring.
The beauty of godhood is that you can do both for as many universes you're willing to create to experience it.
LOL
The whole series happened just so the timelords can say thank you.
@@maklenard899I'd say, as well as an apology to maddie and caspien for killing their son.
Crazy how incredible this serie evolved. I'm speechless.
One of the best thing I watched, ever.

I agree but I am glad this show ended the way it did. After the first season I though that it wont ever get a second season let alone an ending this beautifully and fulfilling.
I feel empty because I can never see this for the first time again. a story this good happens a hand full of times at best in life.
Same here, the emptiness in eating at me
I also feel empty, left to wonder about what i don't know
Why do y'all do that? Put the close parentheses at the end?
Masterpiece was a understatement for what this was. I don't have the vocabulary to describe the ride the show took me on.
It really matured this season
I wish I had the eloquence to describe the brilliance of the show.
"They should have sent a poet"
This ending was God level !!!

This ending made my existential crisis worse
Caspien: So you're basically god
Also Caspien accidentally inspires the evolution of even more powerful gods bound by compassion
Edit: Caspian
CaspiAn*
I laughed out loud when Meddie gave a look to him until he realized and said "You're welcome!"
I will see you all in 117649 years.
Thanks for posting, it has been a while since a show hit me this hard
“Holy shit” -Maddie
The ending took me by surprise wow, this series was great.
I want to leave a comment but I don' t know what would be fitted to write. It was brilliant.
So, let me break it down using layers and based from other's comments:
Layer 0: The Genuine Universe
- Everything that happened in the 2
seasons occured in the real
universe.
- Except Maddie didn’t upload.
- Safe Search ascends to godhood
due to Caspian's words, boarding
the tiny ship and meeting alien
life form.
- Safe Search builds a simulation
using a Dyson Sphere, to thank
Caspian.
Layer 1: Safe Search Simulation
- Safe Search finds a simulation,
that is 1:1 to Layer 0.
- Safe Search observes until his
copy is enlightened by Caspian
and leaves the secret code.
- The secret code: time taken
for Maddie to upload and build
her simulation and find the 1:1
simulation of Layer 0.
Layer 2: Maddie Kim Simulation
- Season 1 and Season 2 events
occur.
To build the simulations, both Safe Search and Maddie Kim had all the data of human history.
The ending was mind trippy for me
Is Maddie a technopath now?
Like matter,spacetime and energy?
I guess you could say the same thang about our real universe, our universe has more chances of being a simulation than not, but of course as Maddie says, people don't actually like knowing they are living inside a simulation lol
idk you guys but part of me want's to erase the memory of the last episode, it's just too much unknowns to handle. brilliant show i loved it 😭😭
If the universe is a simulation and that simulation can make 100% accurate and real individuals, then any person at the moment of their death is guaranteed a form of digital afterlife in the same way this is portrayed. Its one giant fractal. This is also the concept behind quantum immortality just in this case its being impressed on by technology. I think at some kind of spiritual/intellectual level I needed to see this anime. Its hands down on my top 5 of all time now.
Best Show Ever. Just like Maddie I wish I could wipe my memories and rewatch the series from scratch, it's that good.
Made me just sit there in silence for a good 15 minutes. And after the colossal awe faded a smidge a kind of fear crawled in my mind.

And to think bean counrers wrote this show off as a tax write-off.
The last question vibes
This is the Sci-Fi Fantasy we all deserved. Hope they can make a good live action movie from this ❤
That seems unlikely.

I think seeing 4 virus confirms the show takes place under 3 levels of simulation as only a successful simulation creates another virus who chooses to move away to the stars and a madie who keeps making simulations
That being said the first one being 43 million years old and this one taking 217000 years to achieve means it takes less and less time for madie to create madie

this is a blue pilled ending
so it goes on and on and on. what about the simulation where they sent david into? do they send a copy of themselves in that world or did the world cease to exist.

The same thing I was thinking after finishing the second season.
The built the stuff the same way things are built in I Robot with will smith
Can some one explain me wht was Savesurf virus and how mandi became a Virtual god if so where the servers ARE kept in the real world and wht happened to the satellite base connection plssss
The origin of safesurf was explained inside the show as a countermeasure against UIs, though it became sentient in the process. It's implied that Maddie uploaded since she is able to "underclock" to pass the time. Also there is no actual "reality" anymore since the one we see in the show was part of safesurf's simulation, though it is said to originate from a base reality where we're not sure what happened in the end.
@@sz9635 thank a lot bro
😮 I don't think you understand Maddie is not a God she is just a normal human in ad 21 million humans are just as powerful on avg
This could’ve have been an awesome live action tv show on Netflix or HBO
live action would ruin this show
honestly I really liked the show but hated the ending.
especially the last episode, I mean I get that they were trying to do something New and out of the box with the ending but this completely Tor up the box and then set it on fire😅😅
look at it this way nothing is real
even the Maddie who is basically a god so non of it mean anything but the people in the simulations suffer through because they don't know that it doesn't and as an outside observe it bothers me that I know 😅
The ending ruined the entire show for me.
@@dennis2129 my point exactly
I don't know if it's true but I heard that the creators of the show had much more planned for it but they were rushed by the studio
Maddie is so annoying. She just ends up doing everything she stops others from doing wth
This was a terrible ending you mean to tell me she did allll that all that battle and build up even being invited to the center of the universe...to just say fuck it im gonna start over not even having the memory of her godhood which means shes gonna start over again and again Neverending!!!! Such bs
Not quite, she did say another version of her will take that path instead of her.
am so confused, how did Maddie become God
it’s complicated but she’s not actually god just a simulation
@@brucewayne7020she manipulates virtual reality
Still op though
But maybe not for us in 2024 but would be op for those in year 3000 or 4000+ when they would ascend into virtual world
@@Time_Lantern_Gameplay it’s really not op she just made a simulation and gave herself admin commands she doesn’t have that much power in the "real world"
@@brucewayne7020 alright but are the safesurf gods in physical sense that they can control spacetime, matter and energy cos I was hearing they went to the galactic centre for enlightenment?
dumb confused ending make no sense
Garbage ending
Definitely interesting. Kind of feels like a weird ending but pantheon was made for exploring the absolute limit of our technology and this gives us that.
@@aidanw6725kinda wish it did more to explore what was going on in episode 7, but I suppose they sorta had the end it soon huh?
We know you aint smart enough for this show. Move on….
I feel like how Mist felt when she first learned, when she couldn't tell what would happen next...my mind is blown...
