in 2023 ....I still dearly love my IER-Z1R !!!!!.....the single DD award goes to the IKKO OH7..... the sound that comes out of that 90 ohm Impedance DD is simply amazing .......
halimj7 at the current time, I have to abide into the life changing situations where I need to take music on the go. While the IER-Z1R is different than hd800S, it can actually be satisfying on the go and portability. Whenever times permit it, the hd800S is always preferable
whitigir Bismillah Thank you for your response. Do you prefer any of the sound qualities of the IER-Z1R over the HD800? Bass, treble, mids, imaging, dynamics, etc.? Thanks
Actually, I prefer many things from HD800S. Hence I had to modify the IER-Z1R. I had to remove the stock acoustic Foams inside the nozzles, and replaces with much thinner foams to do the dirt safe guard purposes. I love the soundstage from HD800S and resolutions, clarity, details. The IER-Z1R once with acoustic foams upgrade, it can have a very airy, detailed resolutions too, and upgraded cables with Goldplated OCC silver from Neotech can so also add more performances. Once done right, the IER-Z1R can easily be a legendary performer. It is not easy to sway me this way since I have always been using full-sizes including Stax system. To be fair, out of the box, the IER-Z1R only impressed me with the bass and sub-bass quality, quantities.
Malang Sufi great! The bass becomes faster and the DMP Z1 squeeze more details out of it. The Z1R is pretty hard to drive to the last 10% and DMP Z1 got it handled
For me i own both z1r and m7, overall z1r sounding and soundstage is so much better than m7 M7 is warmer than z1r. But z1r can be fatigue from them sound for long listening, but m7 is more relax and more comfortable for long listening. I have no wearing issue for both headphone.
Pieter Soetaert it does look huge, but once you got it on, it will be just fine. I do have small ears, and I typically use S or XS tips. The best way to have it on is to hang/clip the wires first so it does not weight down the buds, then you use both hand, 1 to support the wire, and the other one to insert the bud.
@@whitigir do you have any other IEM's to compare to in terms of size? I for one have andromeda and the size is the max that fits me. I can't demo so trying to understand if it will fit me.
I have heard complaints from lots of people that they cannot get a good seal because their ears are too small to fit it, not the tip but the housing itself. The shape of your ears matters too, by far the best test is a demo ofc, but you can try to estimate the diameter with a dime.
I bought the Sony z1rs a couple weeks ago. I’ve never heard sound like this. I’m sure there is a better set of IEMs out there, but I haven’t found them yet. I’ve had no problem with the fit, though some people say the z1r is bulky and uncomfortable, but not for me.
He actually is very well spoken , and I've heard people who had English as a first language pronounce bass as bah-ss , he just doesn't know yet it's pronounced bay-s. No one compares these headphones so I'm impressed he even made this video lol.
Sound quality comparison starts at 6:50

Great video. Thanks. Why would you listen to the IER-Z1R over a high quality full size headphone like HD800? Thank you.

Also does it come with a case that allows you to transport with the cables attached?
How does it pair with dmp-z1?

Would you say that Sony IER-Z1R is a massive upgrade over the Sony IER-M7?

Hello, can I ask what you think about fit issue of Z1R-IER? I wanna buy it but I am scared if it doesnt fit my ear? Thank you
The Z1R looks huge? Would it be remotely comfortable for someone with very small ears?
