The bigger shame is.. the film (i personally think) he acted best in, Under The Silver Lake, was so buried by a24 that it didnt get any recognition for andrews acting and the film itself. The man deserves an Oscar now
Yeah, as much as I loved him being apart of a comic book movie playing such an iconic character, it wouldn't even compare to being on a set with the likes of Scorsese, Fincher and Gibson.
I really appreciated the raw, honest answer Andrew gave: a feeling so profound it's nearly impossible to articulate--but he does, with eloquence. He gave a beautiful description of art and the artist.
Cinematic Top 10 Idk maybe smart isn't the right word... wise maybe? He just seems very educated and candid. I may be wrong but that's kinda the vibe I'm getting👐
hes definitely a very intelligent and articulate person. and if you actually watch enough of his interviews its clear that hes also incredibly wise, and understands acting and human psychology at a pretty high level. not many actors are as honest as him in interviews.
Silence is one of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen and Andrew's performance in it was out of the world, he is an amazing actor and I know he is in the process of becoming someone very prominent, he has already got one BAFTA, one Tony award, has been nominated for Golden globe awards and Oscar...I heard his next movie is directed by Sofia Coppola, so yeah I'm waiting for another great performance from him...
Andrew Garfield. Dude is a cool dude. Woulda loved to see him as Spider-Man in Civil War and TASM 3. But now, at least, he gets to join the audience again and enjoy Tom Holland's take
Cherry Yeah, truuue...but I haven't seen too many Scorsese films. Enough to know he's a great director, I guess, but for me, his stuff is usually too fulla depravities in his unflinching capacity for realism.
Bimfirestarter fair enough- I feel it's much more satisfying for him to be challenged as an actor and pushed to the limit, I don't think he was ever very comfortable playing a superhero for a commercial audience
Well, he sure seemed thrilled to be playing Spidey; problem was that now infamous studio-interference. What I and I think most other people liked about him in the webs was that he wasn't so much playing himself but actually acting, and managed to steal the show, something actors playing the heros were usually outshined in by the villains till lately. But you're right; as much as I'm a fan of the Spider-Man films more than any others, they aren't quite on The Dark Knight level of greatness. -But TASM 1 IS one of my all time favourite films.
Bimfirestarter I don't usually like blockbusters and superhero films but I loved TASM series so I'm 100% with you- I think he really added to those films and I was surprised by my enjoyment of them- so much better than some other superhero offerings of late
i like how honest and thoughtful he is... but honestly sometimes it feels like he tries a bit too hard to search for over-the-top answers to simple questions and flaunt his intelligence. its kinda pretentious imo. i like him, but sometimes he gets gets way too serious with these questions
(ಠ_ಠ) I think it's because when he answers these kinds of questions he simultaneously tries to make sense of his thoughts to himself and to others, so it comes out just like a train of thought. I don't think it's pretentious, he might just be corncerned with getting his point across properly, like he's careful to avoid being misunderstood. Also, I notice he gets quite nervous when put on the spotlight when explaining.

When he said learn to be a carpenter and make a rocking chair it's a gift for emme wattson and she says in one interview that the handmade rocking chair is the best gift someone ever give her
Really appreciate Garfield for the TASM films, he didn't let them down but the writing & Sony did, would've loved a rounding out 3rd movie, love how raw, honest & human he comes across in this, for real tho can I sit on Andrew's left? How can you leave that much space next to such a man?!
He's a tortured soul. I sense depression in him. I've noticed the same thing in other actors that take on these type of roles. He's also wildly intelligent and articulate. I don't even really know what to make of him. He seems kind of a mess imo.
People who are highly intelligent tend to be more depressed because they’re more in tune with the world and what’s really going on. Ignorance really IS bliss.
Andrew Garfield: "I Know I'm Never Going to Be Able to Quit" and as a white male actor you won't need to, it is a reality for women actors, whose work demands dwindles significantly after the age of 40.
youtube123456. You never heard of Meryl Streep or Amy Adams? There’s plenty of female actresses over 40 doing fantastic jobs. In fact, a lot of actresses who LOOK like they are in their 20s or 30s are actually in their 40s.
I still cant believe andrew did not get oscar for either his roles in hacksaw and silence. Those two would have won if released in different years.
The bigger shame is.. the film (i personally think) he acted best in, Under The Silver Lake, was so buried by a24 that it didnt get any recognition for andrews acting and the film itself. The man deserves an Oscar now
@@ztancomfort187 under the silver lake deserves to be a classic

Don't forget social network
Or 99 Homes for that matter
So glad he is no longer Spider-man. Now he can play the characters his talent truly deserves.
Yeah, as much as I loved him being apart of a comic book movie playing such an iconic character, it wouldn't even compare to being on a set with the likes of Scorsese, Fincher and Gibson.
He was great as Spiderman, but sony on the other hand...
SpiderMan (the franchise and the character) are great! But TASM isn't..
*he wasn't forced to play him. So..*
He is a great Spider-Man
I really appreciated the raw, honest answer Andrew gave: a feeling so profound it's nearly impossible to articulate--but he does, with eloquence. He gave a beautiful description of art and the artist.
I remember when he had a small role in a Doctor Who episode years ago and now he's in a Scorsese film.
Darnell Jackson
daleks in Manhattan if anyone is wondering
Darnell Jackson Yeah, that was the first time I saw him!
As what character!?
Facts
Andrew does such a great job of explaining acting. I so identify with being unable to quit and that need to know as much info as possible.
I always forget that he's British, it freaks me out hearing his natural accent
Mariano Felan he was born in Los Angeles but moved to Britain young and went to school there. Moved back here to act.
Manny Debarge He trained in London and started acting there actually.
Same
he's so smart and honest
Cinematic Top 10 Idk maybe smart isn't the right word... wise maybe? He just seems very educated and candid. I may be wrong but that's kinda the vibe I'm getting👐

What an inner intelligence! Truly polite, gentle and simple

Thank you, I came here for that when I saw Emma had it in her house 😂

Andrew is underrated as an actor. His talent is immense.
He's so passionate and talented GIVE HIM HIS OSCAR
one of my favorite actors; brilliant and raw with his honesty and painfully talented... and at other times an utter goofball, i really like him!!
kate l. He's so lovely

I want him in the MCU so bad. I don't care who he plays, we just need him to have a key part in the MCU.

Stone. Not Watson, an easy mistake tho :)
That’s Stone.
this table is lowkey stacked..
I think I just got pregnant by watching Andrew Garfield
Give us a clip with Ali speaking! Let the man share his wisdom
Don't you dare quitting young man. One of the best actors of this generation, alongside Eddie Redmayne!

Some guy named Mike he gave Peter so much emotion and character range in those films
He sounds so British in real life! Amazing American accent he pulls off in films!
ruddysmiles because he is also American

same. and what's up with him playing christians in films as of late? ..I think his soul is reaching out, in some sort of way...to some degree...maybe
he's just highly introverted, but... yeah, maybe a bit depressed.
I feel EXACTLY the same about him. Weird, huh?
People who are highly intelligent tend to be more depressed because they’re more in tune with the world and what’s really going on. Ignorance really IS bliss.
I felt exactly the same. Love the way he seems to think about things.
He deserves an Oscar. He lost at the Golden Globes but GOD DON'T LET BEN AFLECK'S BROTHER TAKE ANDREW'S AWARD AGAIN.
maya. Give him that Oscar!
Never forget the war it took to make this happen. The wars: Avi Arad
The sacrifices: Andrew Garfield
It is fascinating that he never pretends to seem whom he is not)
Love you Andrew Garfield
I do really just can not feel more related to this almost perfect and talented man
truly a table of legends

Damn Andrew, ❤
I went to the screening of this film and it knocked me out. I couldn't make it past the first hour.
I noticed that the two English actors are set apart together from the American actors around the table next to the English journalist.
I loved him in RED RIDING 1974
He looks like David tenant in the thumbnail.
2:08 hahah messing with the microphone
Replace JGL with Ryan Gosling, here.
He looks exhausted, bored but also irritated. Maybe he is just nervous.

how does THR choose an oscars roundtable before nominations are announced? do they just base it on the buzz and predictions?
He actually reminds me of Daniel Faraday from lost... They look like twins 😱
