I started going to rock and metal concerts in the mid 70s and have seen many of the greats but absolutely nothing compares to Rammstein live!!! It is something you need to experience to understand how good it actually is.

Deutschland which means Germany in german has an insane music video you can watch it over and over and always find new details. It's like a short movie and is basically 2000 years of germanic history in a musicvideo.
and they are only one of a few bands who have never had a line-up change.
I have been a Rammstein fan since 1995. Allways happy to see new people discovering their greatness. Once your hooked it is a love that lasts for a lifetime.
If I remember correctly Ich tu dir weh was the third song. Flake, the keyboarder changed his outfit from black to gold and started to walk on the treadmill until the end of the concert, which was the song Engel.
After the incident in one concert Till and the rest of the band got some kind of qualification in pyrotechnics. While they are involved in the design and setup the most is done by some of the best companies in the business. But due to their qualifications the communication is much more advanced and they are able to perform and to operate some devices on an other level than laymen. To be able to set up such a show almost everywhere in the world speaks for it self in terms of security standards and professionalism. Safety standards in the US (and Germany) are some of the highest in the world and Madison Square Garden is a huge closed room full of people. Normally the setup where people with flatulence are not allowed to stand near an electrical outlet. Here they allowed indoor fireworks.
A few cool things about Rammstein, according to vocalist Till Lindemann the band are 6 guys that all have equal say, they treat the band as an ensemble, so the studio albums take years until they all agree it's ready and they craft their albums and songs around the live performances...and the fire, Rammstein are masters of the craft and art of pyrotechnics, their tours are massive and epic.
Their official videos are fantastic. Try Angst, Deutschland, or Diche Titten.
By the way fun fact, they're from East Germany before the wall fell.

man i was living in new york when they did this concert in 2010, tried to get tickets when i found out it was going to be at MSG but it sold out in 20 minutes. That's when you know a band is good. I wish I could have been there.
I've been at MSG. Was in NY for work and a colleague got two tickets. The concert was like a rock opera - unsurpassable.
This August marks my 40th year going to shows.
Last September’s show @ Gillette was the best concert I’ve ever experienced!

....in 1996 as the in flammes Rammstein's sign fell from above the stage to the audience. There were no major injuries but from this on, they hired a pro pyrotechnician team just as the light guy or the sound guy. In 1997 they went really successfull with ''engel'' ,the Sehnsucht album and the Lost Highway film and the shows got bigger and bigger.
As you noticed '' ich tu dir veh'' ( veh like in venue) is the ninth song on the Madison square garden show ( onto 18). It was one of the new songs out of the sixth album: Liebe is für alle da (2009) (Love is here for everyone) and actually talks about sado-masochism and how pain can sometimes do you good. The keyboarder gets out renewd after being tortured/ burned in the bathtub.
''Engel'' was the final song of the show as one of their major hits ( 2020 175 M on spotify).
If you want to go deeper on Rammstein you can either watch Rammstein in Amerika ( MSG-2010- pbd 2015) or Rammstein: Paris (live paris 2012, pd 2017). These 2 whole live shows are insane. For other reactions you really should check on videos with translation as Rammstein's songs meaningsfull.You can find it on YT Bucksttabu or YT educatedmarine. They both do an amazing work!
What blows my mind about Rammstein is they are German and release their songs in German.
So everyone learns German to sing along.
No other band I know of gets that respect.

Their live performances are great but you need to see them live. It's the best show on Earth. Their music videos are also phenomenal they are like movies. Deutschland, Keine Lust, Sonne, Adieu, all good videos to start with

This band exists official since 1994 and they have the same line up ever since. Their names are:
Till Lindemann (vocalist, lyricist and licensed pyrotecnition, that is why they can do what they do at life performances. There is an old interview with him from 1998 were he explains a little bit of it: ruclips.net/video/uUkjov1tbAY/видео.html He als has his side projects called "Lindemann" with Peter Tägtgren from Hypocrisy and Pain and in his youth he was a swimmer and almost at the Olympic Games in 1980, but due to an injury he had to give it up. Since 4th of January 2023 he is 60. This was 2010 and he was 47.
Richard Z. Yes they're the kings of live performance. Everybody will tell you so. Till Lindemann , formerly drummer, was getting bored on stage while just '' singing'' and especially in the parts of a song where there's no singing. And as he's actually quite shy he didn't what to do with his body. So he began to throw fire crackers an play with fire. He ( Till) organized all that and licenced as a pyrotechnician. And at a lower level all the others group members. They had an accident in 1996
They all are certified, because all, one or other day, deal with fire.. Videos YES, they are the BAR as well! Deutschland, Sonne, Zeit, Dicke Titten, Adieu, Radio,Amerika, Mein Herz Brennt, are great examples of it.. ..Live still like Benzin, Wolt Ihr Das Bet in Flamen Sehen, Mein Teil, Pussy, Feuer Frei, ..
Tu as dit une chose très importante à un moment ce groupe a dit " ok il faut faire mieux pour faire vivre notre musique" et c'est un message très important pour les jeunes qui regarde ta vidéo, c'est nous qui nous limitons dans la vie alors que si ont prend un minimum de risque tout est possible, pour mémoire ce groupe à commencer en 1993 dans une fête locale il devait y avoir 50 personnes max et regarde ce qu'ils ont fait..
You said one very important thing at one point that band said, "ok we have to do better to make our music live" and that’s a very important message for young people who watch your video, it’s us who limit ourselves in life while if we take a minimum risk everything is possible, for the record this group to start in 1993 at a local party there had to be 50 people max and look what they did..

You really have to watch the Video Deutschland, Zeit,Dicke Titten or Adieu and of course live videos from the 2019 and 2022 Stadium Tour. These are much more impressive and great. It’s one of the best live bands in the world. And of course the music and the videos are masterpieces..especially Deutschland

hints that the person he’s singing about is actually himself. I believe that the song is instead about self-harm and the pain and pleasure associated with it.

Yes there were just one incident/accident (no one was harmed) in the 90s when the lead singer decided to became a certified pyrotechnican and all the band members have to get a license for using pyrotechnics too to held up the show properly with the official allowance of Germany. About the balance thing: Till ist trapped like in a Snowboard shoe on his right foot to hold it. And Till has massive stage fright there for all the fire. To lead the focus away from him. If you look proper you can see everytime he sings in high or middle notes he closes his eyes and don`t look to the audience. It is not just a Metal concert. It`s a modern opera. Synced to a second. Like your reaction and would love to see more Rammstein at your channel. Oh and Flake (the Keyboard player) always walks on his beloved treadmil `cause otherwise he get bored on stage and will leave the Band. Some Monty Phyton Humour in here. ;)

This is the video of the accident on stage and one of the reasons why Till trained as a professional pyrotechnician.
One of the choppyest songs I can recommend is 'Vacuity' live at Vieilles Charrues. Not from this fantastic German band but from Gojira.The last part of this song is such a big crunchy blast not only because of the heavy guitarsound but the drummer is pushing it so over the edge of super heavyness that even Rammstein can learn from it. Rammsteins heavy straight forward riffs are very effective at the least. But the French do it a bit better. Great reaction to this sublime piece of total theater. Rammstein ist gesammt art.
