I agree that today's pupils should be taught about the potable water and wastewater water recycling processes. I also think that everyone should be taught of the dangers of sewage and sewerage. When I was younger I never knew of the dangers of gases in sewage. It's very dangerous
I would imagine the rates would be pretty good. You want them around for years, not quit shortly before they complete the traineeship. It would be one of those jobs where you never stop learning.
If you want to be an Operator you don't need many requirements. A manual drivers license is required, all training is provided. To be a Mechanical Engineer or Electrician you can apply for an apprenticeship

I'm still amazed you all flush your fat down the sink. That's just crazy. I was taught as a little girl to never do at and I'm in the US. My Mother would have smacked me silly. We drain it and put it in the trash. Our grand parent's saved fat and used it for cooking. Bacon fat was their favorite. So odd to hear you put it down the drain. Worst thing for pipes.
It's not just the UK I've seen documentaries where people in the USA are doing it too especially the big cities luckily where i live is a small town so it doesn't tend to happen here and I'm in Wales UK.

@@H6NTY435D Rubbish mate, it does end up in the sea and lakes and rivers, this is well known now that they use outflow pipes in combined sewage setups which overflow diluted sewage into the rivers, no profit in it for them to fix it, and only cheap penalties too.
@@H6NTY435D CSO only exists because it was the cheap way to install sewers back in the day and nobody really thought about the problems it would cause, all new sewers are not combined in such a way and have separate drainage sewers for the road. They operate more than in heavy rainfall, it's well known and there's a site you can see all the outflow instances.

British accents in my opinion make them have absolutely horrible speaking English for example at about 25 minutes into the video they're reading off numbers and the guy says free but what he's trying to say is 3 but it to anyone else would absolutely sound 100% exactly like he's saying free.
