      Ha thanks! You have a cart? We just got it last summer. Still working on upgrading it. It would be very easy to spend cash and make it go 35mph ha

      @@SpicerDesignsLLC I think we need more acreage before I could justify a side by side. The electric carts are nice because they are silent.

    6:27 - Can you please make a video as to how you converted/installed this internal set up? (And perhaps make it for a complete noob?)
    I just got my first golf cart and would LOVE to make this change.

    What about the damage for fires on your new battery?

  • @10AF22

    Strange comparison. With lead acid you can onboard a charger that’s virtually silent. Also, can use an AGM to get rid of any maintenance. They work better in the cold. They have less of a memory. They can be killed over and over and they don’t mind. Lead acid will not burn out of control if punctured or a manufacturing defect. I work on electric industrial machines. Lithium is rarely a good idea. But you seem happy so that’s all that matters. The video is heavily tilted.

      Oh ok I see, you're a noob to lithium and are thinking of lithium polymer instead of these batteries which are lifepo4. Lifepo4 much safer.

      A link to what I bought is below. It's actually a bit cheaper now. Eco battery is considered one of the best out there. It was definitely worth it.

    Lithium iron phosphate batteries last anywhere from 3000 to 10000 cycles. So assuming you cycle the pack fully once a day every day... they should last between 8.21 years and 27.39 years. If you DON'T cycle them every day.... well... then my question is which will die first? Me of old age, or the battery?

    • @IndyFarmLife
      @IndyFarmLife  Год назад

      I'm glad you specified it being of 'old age.' If you are like me, you are going to take this new power plant and start swapping out the controller/motor to make it do 35 mph. In that case, we all know how we go out! ha

    I switched to lithium two years ago. The weight savings was nice and so was the fast charging time, but they're dead as of this spring despite following manufacturers rules to the hilt. So it's basically $2,600 down the drain. I'm not impressed. Two and a half times the cost of lead batteries and maybe third to a quarter of the life.
    If you go lithium, avoid Allied like the plague. They sell a sh*t product and don't stand behind it.

    • @IndyFarmLife
      @IndyFarmLife  Год назад

      Dang, sorry to hear about your luck. I will say that there are a lot of companies out there just jumping on the lithium bandwagon and putting put sub par products. That's the main reason I went with Eco Battery. A great reputation for reliability and customer service.

    blah..blah..blah...you didn't do research .most. engineers picked lead acid for cost and safety..DISCHARGE AND WEIGHT ON LITHIUM ADV....BUT IF YOU ARE IN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS COST IS IMPORTANT ..SO CHEAPER COST WINS. ...NASA ENGINEER HERE....

    • @IndyFarmLife

      Well, I'm not in international business, and I much prefer the discharge and weight advantages of lithium. I'll pay for those benefits.
