The first time I heard about this Movie was when I saw Diner in the 1980's and a Man named Methan was so obsessed with this Movie, he spouted quotes from The Movie. I feel that This Movie, Down With Love and even Far From Heaven could have been The Inspiration for Mad Men as well as The Best Of Everything.
I looked for a clip about the similarities between this film and Mad Men in particular, the scene showing the impact upon the protagonist after seeing a plane flying over the skyline.
