Love how he first says the feel is "unremarkable", then later in the video he says the feel is "excellent", it's his daily driver now, AND he bought a 2nd one :D
Just received mine today. This video helped me make the decision. It's an awesome keyboard. If you are looking for a membrane keyboard (I was after not wanting to fall into the abyss of mechanical keyboard customization and not liking the early actuation of standard mechanical switches) and love the keyboards most 90s PCs (e.g., HP, IBM, Compaq) came with, just get this. It's so good.
I'm having mine delivered in the next few days. Excited. Looking forward to getting to typing on it. I dug out a pristine Trust rubber dome keyboard I'd safely stored away in the early 00s, and although the typing sound and feel are perfect, it's a mid-sized keyboard meaning the arrows keys are located in a weird position, and there are redundant media shortcut keys that no longer work fully.
@@CODMWXsorry about late reply. The keyboard itself is great. Looks-wise it's perfect to my untrained eye. To use, it's excellent although I'd suggest a wrist pad for greater comfort.
I bought mine in 2018 for my work machine. It’s hooked up to a Mac mini. My issue with the small little keyboards is that I have giant honking hands. I need something with some size to it. I also need a num pad, as I use it constantly, and I want my F keys too, because the mac uses them for various functions. Also, it’s for work. I can’t justify a hueg budget for it. When I bought it on Amazon in May of 2018, it cost me $20 in black. I’m a little shocked that it’s become so much more expensive in such a short time. I’ve used it every day for all these years. The right shift key has the writing almost gone. All the other keycaps look fine. It was a good buy.
Thank you for this very nice video. Thanks to it, I've just bought mine on Amazon (their stock was very low) so I did not wait one minute more. Cannot wait to receive and try it. I still have and use my beige model Wyze KU-8933 from back in the days, but it becomes old, I found that this Perixx is a good candidate to replace my old beleved keyboard. ども ありがとう. いってらっし
I bought this keyboard on Ebay Im waiting for it to arrive, I wanna use it with my main PC. I had a very similar keyboard new in 2000/2001 people say the keyboard looks 90s but the same design was still a thing in 2000/2001.
I'm totally considering this for my retro computer project (actually a modern computer but looks old and will have old virtual machines running on it). Watched this video to help my buying decision!
The insert key on the numpad may be odd looking, but thank god the left shift key isn't miniscule like on most modern ones. The old ones used to yellow due to the bromine fire retardant they put in them without knowing back then it reacts with UV light so unless a model M has been kept in the dark since 1985 it won't be pristine. Don't think these will yellow the same way.
Are the key caps replaceable on this? What do you even call this kind of keyboard? What would I need to know basically if I was to search for pieces to customize this? Sorry I’m a complete n00b
The only thing I don't like about this keyboard is the sound the spacebar makes. I think I'll get a keyboard from Unicomp instead (although they seem to be completely out of stock at the moment).
A classic-looking keyboard with the modern 2012-present Windows logo! That's something you don't usually see often nowadays. Nice find!

I loved to watch the evolution of your love for this keyboard. I bought one.
I love the way your desk is similar to my desk - covered in "stuff" 🙂 Thanks for the review!!

Also, yes. It does wear shiny for sure.

ahhh the cla-cla so characteristic of the keys of the good old IBM keyboards I will order it on Amazon.❤
Very cool video! I've placed an order on mine. Was cool getting your comparison to other similarly styled rubber dome keyboards
great review. really helped me understand the capabilities of this nice keyboard.
Sound really nice for rubberdome
very thorough review. well done.

Model Ms do not yellow because their case and keycaps are made of PBT plastic.

Please help lol I want to modify this keyboard if i can
I would like to know too :-)
It's a membrane keyboard which means it is essentially, non-modifiable.

I like the sound of the spacebar, because it reminds me of the keyboard in the metro games.
For me it’s too rough but I really
mash that thing
I bought a Unicomp. Biggest waste of money I've experienced for a computer peripheral.
@@CrankCase08 What don't you like about it?
@@MnemonicCarrier Keys sticking and unreliable contacts.
Ive bought this to use specifically with the A500 mini, would love to replace the Windows keys with Amiga keys
Any update on the board?
Hi, how does it compare in feeling to Realforce keyboard?
Ik this question is a bit arbitrary, but do you still have that gigaware cassette adapter from 9 years ago?
Nice review. Thanks for showcasing it on Linux.
what about ergonomics? is it okay for touch- typing?
Yeah, it has the proper curve, the notch in the caps lock key, the home row tabs, I had no issue touch typing on it
is it for gamers? like, can you press 3 keys at the same time and it'll register?
Not made for but it works for them you can do that yes
@@SKIBIDITOILETKILLEDMYHUSBAND didnt need this anymore cause i got a new keyboard, but thanks

Where is the retro ajazz?
That's on my gaming and editing setup
Dark grey lettering on mid-grey keys is really dumb.
What kind of switched does it have?
