a brilliant piece! everybody's going to want one! 0:00 is a little unconventional, but the user would easily grow accustomed to it. for the more conventional approach, the piece would have to be designed so that the bottom-most ball of the hour column remains stationary; at 12:59, only eleven balls would drain from the hour column, and the twelfth, bottom-most ball would remain, leaving a reading of 1:00. I don't have AM/PM clock because we use 24h in france, but I made research at the begining and it show after 11h59, there are 0:00 according the wikipedia. But it will be difficult to remains one ball after 11 balls falls on the device.
Nico71's Lego Technic Creations just my insignificant point on the conventional. in fact, any design which is simpler, but is equal in function, is the superior design. KEvron
Nico71's Lego Technic Creations We Americans use a really weird system. We don't use 0, we only go from 1 to 12. But really, we don't start from 1, we start from 12, and then count up from 1 to 11. 00h00 = 12:00 midnight (it is not 0:00. There is no such thing as 0:00) 00h01 = 12:01 a.m. 00h59 = 12:59 a.m. 01h00 = 1:00 a.m. 02h00 = 2:00 a.m. 03h47 = 3:47 a.m. 10h25 = 10:25 a.m. 11h59 = 11:59 a.m. 12h00 = 12:00 noon 12h01 = 12:01 p.m. 12h34 = 12:34 p.m. 12h59 = 12:59 p.m. 13h00 = 1:00 p.m. 14h00 = 2:00 p.m. 16h56 = 4:56 p.m. 22h00 = 10:00 p.m. 23h00 = 11:00 p.m. 23h59 = 11:59 p.m.
I use a www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=32056 parts attached to the chain link : www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3873 In fact this part have a hole slighy differente from classic lego crossed hole which allow to be attached to the chain link. Then, a 2L axe (red) is placed at the back to inclined the fork in order to not lose the ball chen lifted. :)
Nice, thank you. I will try to make something similar in my lego bowling pinsetter. It will be a pin elevator that pushes the pins off at the top, just like your balls here. :) Feel free to check it out. :)
Hello desert ! thank you for your comment, I am happy that you comment on it, I discover and follow you not a long time ago, that I want to say is that you make good creation and good video :) The next creation will be certainly a vehicle powered with a exotic function :)
You say that the clock is all mechanical, but I see an electric cord. Is there a motor? Anyway, I really like this clock. Although, of course, if it were my clock, I would extend it by putting in a calendar.

A really great implementation of a ball clock. You have so many great techniques for moving the balls around. I love it!
Wow. Once again, next-level LEGO.
This is my favourite ball clock!
un mecanisme complexe donc beaucoup de travail c'est incroyable
Toujours de bonne idées et des techniques de construction et des mécanismes impressionnant!
Merci à toi !
Thank you for using https links in the description!
Juste... Épatant ! Continue ainsi !
Merci à toi :)
Je ne fais que mon boulot de viewer ! XD
That's cool. It does only show half the time of the day though, so that clock is not 'compatible' to the 24h-format that is used here in Germany.
cool ball pump
Conveyer and pump lifting mechanism is used for GBCs
Phantastic!!!!
It's awesome.
Wtf freaking awesome
Fantastic!!!!
Holy crap this is amazing!
Magnifique!
my brains hurt, although very cool moc. and quick question "look down
HOW DO YOU DO THAT

***** I understand Kevron :) But which convention is used on AP /PM clock ? the 11h29 -> 00h00 or 11h59 ->12h00 -> 01h00

here, in the u.s., we use 12:59 - 1:00.

Nice! Did you check how accurate it is?
Arround some minute each hours. But I can adjust by removing or adding a chain element thanks to the spring I use on the topc of the lift.
awesome
Cool!
How did you attach the shovel on the chain links? (that picks up the balls). I can't really see from those angles.

Great, original and inventive. Where do you go for your inspiration?!
I don't know, I learn lot of stuff, make some research and have plenty of creations and idée in the queue. I think I am just curious :)
Awesome ! How do you make these stuff !
Man, I'd love to build this, Do you Have instructions?
Awesome!
Love how it works. Have you thought about building one that goes on a 24 hour clock, vs 12 hour?
I have tried but no succed ! check the whole story to understand the choice I have make : www.nico71.fr/lego-vertical-ball-clock/

Anyway, I really like this clock. Although, of course, if it were my clock, I would extend it by putting in a calendar.
The clock is powred by a motor, but all sequential motion and keeping time is made by purely mechanical system.
please make a manual on how to build it. I want do make it as well Its super AWESOME!!!
sorry there will not, it is not a creation for building instructions :)
Nico71's Lego Technic Creations :(
This is great, but on 0:43, it is actually Four Minutes to Six (5:56), not Three Minutes to Six (5:57).
Is the time correct ?
Amazing :)
