    Much improved! However, NOW, the "GONG" at the entrance to tunnels is borderline annoying -- at least it is to me. There are just as many gongs as before but now they are much closer together and even more so when viewing at 2x speed.. IMHO, they are superfluous anyway, or at least could be a much smaller sound. Otherwise, keep up the great work! Thanks.

  • @nirgunapa56

    For such a beautiful video it's a shame that the editing on the tunnels has been done so crudely. We don't get to find out the names of some tunnels and in some instances we have only just got to the entrance before we skip to the exit.

    The part above Myrdal is gold, I am amazed how high the train goes up to Finse. Its above the treeline and looks magical. What time of year is it. My guess is October?

    Fantastic sceneries, the icy plateu that cosses your train is amazingly impressive, but why every time your train enters in the tunnels can not see anything? In Norway do not use lights or are not powerful? Or is it a matter of setting the video camera?

    • @ViktorAdriaansens
      @ViktorAdriaansens 10 лет назад

      The tunnels are not lit, which means no light from anywere.
      You'd be suprised how many lights are used when a movie is supposedly filmed at night.

    I've watched 1/6 and 2/6 and I like this one because of amazing change in scenery...from autumn leaves to above the tree line. Just beautiful. Question, though, and my apologies if this is really stupid, what are the man-made tunnels for? At first I thought they were to keep boulders off the tracks, but then up in the forever snow, they seem to be out in the open. Is that because of blowing snow? I'm not a train person; I prefer trains to planes; that's hardly an option now in the US. So a train's eye view of such wondrous beauty is very, very appreciated.

      I think it's to protect from avalanches. I drove a couple of years ago around Northern Italy and they weren't tunnels proper, like reinforced barns. Brilliant idea really. And yes, I'm a train over plane person too!

  • @gtidan

    How fast to you think this train is going at it's fastest? Has to be at least 140kph don't you think?

  • @mickgatz214
    @mickgatz214 7 лет назад

    superior rail network, (unlike Australia's system)!!
    Reason being, Australia opted the cheap way out by replacing the wooden things with concrete ones, but didn't replace the warped iron tracks..... just sayin', think about it. :)
    P.S, by saying this, i speak about the Albury to Melbourne upgrade....

  • @daveincaol
    @daveincaol 10 лет назад

    The use of telephoto gives distorts the view and leads to the speed appearing faster than actual. I calculated the speed of the train through one tunnel to be 48 kph or 30 mph. A super and leisurely journey.

    • @daveeckblad
      @daveeckblad 10 лет назад

      Uhm, this is definitely a wide angle view. And, as such, is why it feels to be moving faster than it actually is.

      I guess Usually 80-90 km/h. But You can find with V=X/T. for Example, at 18th minute Langvannsoset tunnel. İt during 8 second and tunnel 115 meters. So, about 50 km/h. :)
