Wonderful chat with the lovely Hilda, a name you don't hear too often now. This is how it used to be, people spoke to each other, usually start ing with a comment about the weather, whether or not it was pouring down or bright sunshine. These days its a miracle if you know your neighbours name. Progress? I don't think so. Wondeful lady, God bless her.
That lady is unbelievable made my day quite possibly the greatest interview ever. please try and find her thank her from Me and I'm sure many of your subs.
Nice little walk about .Yeah , moss side used to have a bad name for itself .What a legend Hilda is ! Thanks for sharing your grandads story of him passing from a broken heart, it’s so romantic and sad at the same time !
I really like watching your tours. There's not a lot of historical buildings in the U.S. except maybe in Boston and Connecticut but it seems everywhere you go there are some awesome reminders of history. Thanks.
Granny who's lived in the roughest part of Manchester for 50!! 50 years still has that strong Irish accent!! That's stubbornness at the highest degree 😅😅
What a lovely lady - I grew up in Moss Side and I’m younger than Hilda (in my 60s). The Moss Side I grew up in was a great place it had its problems but the with the area being made up mostly of Caribbeans, Irish, and the Polish that settled here after the war it was just one big melting pot. People got one and we had a laugh together. Also that large glass house was still in the park when I was a kid…it was one of my favourite places to visit…was a bit gutted when it was torn down…
I delivered milk around Bolton and manchester nearly 20 years ago, me and my work colleagues would argue and fight to not do deliveries to some places in moss side, the yardies would rob us at knife point regularly, we eventually got most of them to stop by giving them a few bottles of OJ and milk every time we entered their area.
Old souls like Hilda make bad places good but to be honest moss side looks good if you look past some of the depressing houses lots of diversity and culture more than that meets the eye great video Charlie
Yes that is a 5G mast, but 5G signals are typically weaker than 4G or 3G as they are intended for smaller coverage areas. All mobile radios are non-ionising which makes them harmless, apart from heating if you're within inches of the top of the mast, each foot from the mast is a huge reduction in heating effect as it isn't a linear scale. Your phone has to send to the mast as well as receive from it, meaning your phone has to transmit quite strong signals back, yet people seemingly aren't fussed about using their phones next to their ear. It is all harmless.
Hilda is a beautiful lady, wish her the very best. That mechanics institute did have the freemason symbol on their sign & that model in that house looked like Crystal palace park in London. Great Vid, Thanks Charlie
Manchester has improved loads over the last 20 years or so - been over a few times on business during the last year and it's so impressive now, and the people are infinitely nicer than the grumpy buggers down in London.
I lived between Moss side and Rusholme, within a year I had a dude stabbed under my doorstep one morning whilst I was walking to work, he had to be air ambulance out. On a different occasion I was in the street when a gang had raided a house (known drug dealers) and ran past me with a gun in hand. There were also lots of petty incidents but those two incidents were enough to get me to move. Best thing about moss side was the computer shop man on Yew Tree Road called Salah. One of the kindest men I've met, he's lived in Rusholme for some time now.
Congrats, that ending was epic, doing Manchester the justice she deserves. Cheers from PT, the westermost shores of what was once continental Europe. The City of Manchester has got an unofficial ''cultural ambassador'' in PT, who studied up there, the writer, journalist, rock critic and general thinktanker Miguel Esteves Cardoso, a brilliant bloke, Vini Reilly's friend and ''Joy Division's curator'' in the land of Camões . He must have rubbed elbows with Factory Recs, because ''legend'' goes he officially and duly brought the masters to Portugal, himself, for the PT pressing of ''Closer'', so maybe that's why there's universal consensus that our 1st pressings of the record were absolutely pristine quality. Mancunian music was ever much appreciated down here, from Van der Graaf Generator to the Madchester thing, so i just had to leave this note on the detail. Keep up the truthful work. Don't watch tv news.
Aww the lovely Hilda so known for so many years everyone loves her. CHARLIE let me know if you want a deeper tour of the area I will be glad to walk you round certain parts off moss side where your better with a none face just send me a message I don't want you to stray on to the wrong street
I love love love hilda. She is just a normal woman... I wish everyone was like her, even the young kids. the world might be a lil different if we were all nice ppl and took pride in where we live. I live in a area where it was all brought and horrible for a long time and even then we would hall keep our gardens, houses and even our paths clean.
You can tell Hilda that Cork is still a lovely city. I liked this Charlie, if you stick with this kind of thing I'm a fan. Not into the antagonising innocent people stuff.
Lovely accent. My Mam was born in Limerick until she was a couple of years old, then moved to County Cork, before moving to Salford, Manchester area in early 1960s.
Love Hilda, what a treasure!! Its a shame not all elderly get our love and respect, they can teach us so much and the humility is inspiring
The 'Tick-Tock' generation are ignoring, and missing out on, a huge wealth of knowledge.

Hilda is absolutely amazing. Love her ❤️
Old souls like Hilda make bad places good but to be honest moss side looks good if you look past some of the depressing houses lots of diversity and culture more than that meets the eye great video Charlie
This was a wholesome video. You should do more videos like this instead of covering all the rot and degeneracy in Manchester.
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly should always be displayed.
@@noelward8047 Yes, that's true.
Grew up in Mosside in the 60s really enjoyed this Charlie 🙏
What a remarkable lady!

The non-linear scale is the Inverse square law.

Great video mate. what an insight into Hilda and moss side,
Hilda was a lovely lady god bless hilda the moss side litter warrior ❤
Now that's content, and a great street interview. Hilda is a nice lady.
Manchester has improved loads over the last 20 years or so - been over a few times on business during the last year and it's so impressive now, and the people are infinitely nicer than the grumpy buggers down in London.
Charlie's videos seem to suggest that it has improved in some aspects, but the social issues are worse than ever in the town centre.
@@james-5560 Isn't that normal for most English Town centers now
Finally a "Love Police" style video. No conflicts, swearing or stalking. PRIME TIME!
