@chefvld I'm 52 and my latest lab work was all great! Cholesterol is the best it's ever been. I follow the 80/20 rule though - 80% of what I eat is nutrient-dense foods.
I found my mini-Dash at the local St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store for only $3! That same day I also scored a Cuisinart waffle iron for a mere $5. Neither of these appliances appeared to have been used so it was a great day! I'm going to try all the recipes! I bought a recipe book while visiting Lehman's Hardware, in the heart of Amish country in central Ohio, that features a lot of neat ideas for waffle creations, too. It's like using the waffle iron like a panini press! What fun! My favorite is using savory stuffing to make a 'bread' for sandwiches or as a neat side dish. I also use my mini to create my own "Eggo's". They freeze great and are a lot less expensive than the ones from the store.
Love the stuffing idea!!! And you got a great deal on your Dash! I LOVE Amish country! I grew up near an Amish country in NY. Loved going to their stands.
Not competing, but I found my mini-waffle maker new in-the-box for $2 at my local thrift shop. These recipes look great, and such a nice change from just toasting sandwiches. Two nights ago I cooked cake batter with pineapple, brown sugar, butter, and marichino cherry, to make a mini pineapple-upsidedown-cake.
Aww...I really appreciate that, Rose! And yes!! Ideas is what I hope to give people. Just take what I share and make it your own. I actually did a "no meat" what I eat in a day video a few weeks ago. That's not the norm for me. ;) And wow!!! Great job on the weight loss. Keep up the great work!! 😊
I had no idea on how many things you can make with this little waffle maker! I just got mine for a Valentine's Day present. 😊 I can't wait to make some of these!! Thank you for sharing your recipes with us. I hope you have. a nice day. Ashley
Mission also makes these in ZERO CARB! There are several flavors too including sun dried tomato & basil. I use those but not in the Dash, just open faced in the toaster oven. Pizza without the guilt!
Love these ideas! I have been procrastinating starting WW because of lack of breakfast ideas. I’m a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit McDonald’s gal. I have a Dash waffle maker. Yay! Thank you!
Thanks Lynn! Oh yes!! So many options you can do for breakfast. I do just regular bacon, egg, and cheese muffins for meal prep sometimes - throw them in my freezer and throw in my bag before work! Or use those high fiber wraps and make a breakfast burrito. I think I have recipes to both of those on my website, planningushealthy.com :)
Wonderful demo. I come here for inspiration, like how u tell # of WWpoints and I received a Dash today. tuna melt is excellent. make w the sm. tortilla, put 1 scoop tuna salad, piece of cheese, and tortilla on top. interesting little sandwich. you can tuna the way that u want it .
I’ve never seen cottage cheese cooked with eggs…interesting…I’ll have to try it. I just ordered my mini and I’m watching videos with all these great ideas. Thank you for posting! 🙌
Thanks Sherry! And that's a great idea! My husband and I were just talking tonight about how much we miss our camper and going camping! So many great memories when our kids were little!
i made "waffles" this morning. 1 egg, 1 tbl. sweetener, 2 tbl. almond or coconut flour, and a splash of almond milk. added nutmeg to mine...yummy and had my coffee. can use same recipe but ,leave out sweetener and add spi ces to make a savory 'waffle ' then i use those for sandwiches
I am going to start using my dash more. I had forgotten how easy it is to use and I love how the food turns out. Thanks so much for the video, I have really been off track for a while. These will help me get my focus back.
Glad it was helpful, Brenda!! It's great because you can even make little desserts on them if you're craving something but that way it's a small portion. Hmmm....maybe I can work on some desserts!

I used it today but used pancake batter. The first one was a test but later they came out good. Thanks a lot for your easy to follow instructions. Stay blessed.
Loved your video. I'm with your hubby, I don't like egg whites showing in my scrambled eggs. When I was younger my brother & I split hard boiled eggs. He ate the white & I ate the yolk. How funny is that.
I like your ideas for wafle recipes on the wafle maker. Most of them, but the potato one are safe for my low carb diet. My low carb allows me up to 50 grams of carbs. I got the device, and I love my almond and blueberries waffle. Thanks for the ideas!
There are mini griddle would work good for that. I also bought the mini griddle because I bought a Hamilton Beach sandwich maker and 3/4 of the time it cannot make the sandwich without leaking the egg out around the bottom so I got the mini griddle to cook the egg in and I’ve got the rest the stuff go on in the sandwich maker.

Just the egg and cheese looks so yummy. I have a little bit of shredded hashbrowns I may try It in the morning with turkey bacon… 😁 I usually have hashbrowns, eggs and turkey bacon so changing it a little in looks won’t be too bad and add some 🥑 😋 thank you sharing
I love your meal ideas - so fun, easy and delicious! I may have to get a Mini Dash. My husband says "Thanks Kristi, just what she needs - another kitchen gadget" LOL 🤣🤣🤣
I just got my dash today and I'm so excited to try it out. What brand of cooking spray do you use? Every time I use it on my pots and pans, there is always a sticky residue left on it.
Hi Marla! I hope you love it!! I like to use regular oil that I put in my Misto sprayer, but when I'm all out, I just use a generic store brand of cooking sprays and I haven't noticed anything. I wonder if it depends on the pans that you use or something.
For the first recipe I would use the Dash griddle. I bought the larger one for sandwiches and tortillas. Some of the stuff isn't keto/low carb so I assume your on a different diet.
I'll have to check out the griddle! I don't have that one. And yes, you're correct - I follow the Weight Watchers program. Some of the things I eat just happen to be low carb, but mostly a mix. ;)
Thanks so much, April! I just added the Amazon link in the description box, but I just checked them and they are currently unavailable. I do see other ones they have as well though. :)
Mmmmm your recipes look WONDERFUL!!! BUT, I don’t like corn tortillas…I’ve tried and tried to like them to no avail. So I researched flour street tacos at Walmart and found these: La Banderita Carb Counter Street Taco Flour Tortillas, 16 count, and according to my WW points finder they’re zero points!!! I’m going to try them…wish me luck!!! 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸 New subbie here too!💕
Ohhh, good to know about those tortillas! I'll have to look for those. Let me know how they turn out. And thanks so much for subbing! Welcome to the PUH family!! 💕
@@PlanningUsHealthy I made the flour ones for dinner tonight. Two ways: 1. In my Dash mini waffle maker with tortilla on top and bottom and toppings inside. Better this way if you have small children…less messy. 2. Crisped up one tortilla in waffle maker, added toppings, and popped into the microwave until the cheese is melted. Both were very good. Hi Andrea. I have never tried to freeze these, but I wouldn't see why you couldn't. I'm not sure about the pizza one though. I know there are several people who make and freeze egg muffins, so I'd think these would work too. Worth a try! :)
I just double checked. Make sure you are using the corn ones, not the flour. For the corn ones they are 2 points for 3. I think the flour ones are higher.
Walmart Carrie’s these for zero points. I haven’t tried them yet, but they’re on my list to try: La Banderita Carb Counter Street Taco Flour Tortillas, 16 count
I signed up today and am trying to understand how it works. I love your channel and all the detailed information you provide, but I am confused. Am I supposed to check/count calories or keep track of the points?
Hi there! No, if you signed up for WW, I would suggest only doing the points. I only share calories because I have some nutrients I have to keep track of for my doctor, and plus I share calories because a lot of my viewers don't do WW, so since I track them, I share them. But no, WW does the science for you so there's really no need to log calories too. Hope that helps. :)
@@PlanningUsHealthy, thank you so much for being kind and getting back to me; I genuinely appreciate that. You definitely got another subscriber. Thank you for doing these videos. I am glad that I stumbled on your channel!!
It's just something I've always done even with nonstick. I've had some things where the food still stuck to it, so it's more out of habit now. But you can definitely try it without the spray. ;)
They don't have to be. You can make two of the waffles and then depending if you're making a sandwich or whatever, you can bulk them up to your liking! 😊
You break the egg directly into the waffle maker, then break the yolk and say your hubby doesn't like the yolk. Why don't you just whisk the egg for a while before you cook it? Then have an omelette instead of an egg with white?
I don't track carbs, so I don't know what they are when I film. But I do give links to the recipes, and that has all the nutritional facts listed there. 😊
Hey love. Just go keto and stop giving your money to Oprah...she has enough. She insulted keto for years also and NOW IS GOING THAT WAY, IF you haven't noticed. Good Luck.
Thanks! I cant do keto for medical reasons. The way I see it, I just pay for the use of an app. I also track calories and macros though. WW just happens to be a tool I use.
Absolutely. I actually just had a doctor's appointment and I am in my best health - lab work has all improved substantially. I don't do WW or count calories anymore. I'm following the 80/20 rule now and learning to just listen to my body. Health doesn't show up in someone's outward appearance. Someone can be thin but not be healthy. ;)
@@honeybadger... What does healthy mean to you? I'm asking that as a genuine question because I'm always wanting to learn more and hear different points of view. I am 50 years old and post-menopausal but have still lost about 50 pounds so far. However, after I took my nutrition class, I started learning about intuitive eating from two registered dieticians (one who specializes in gut health since I've had UC for 19 years - diagnosed when I was considered "normal weight", but by no means was I healthy at that time). That's when I decided I didn't want to focus on points or calories anymore, but just listen to my body. The thinking is that when you listen to your body and eat for health, the weight loss will come naturally as a side effect (at a slower pace than some people care for though). But I am open to learning all I can learn from anyone.
@@PlanningUsHealthy thank you for a genuine response! Healthy is a balance of positive thinking and positive doing..we're taught to allow others(professionals) think for us and that instills a false belief that our own knowledge and intelligence is limited. I was in a place where I lived paycheck to paycheck and getting help from a health professional was inconceivable, hearing people around me talk about medical bills - turned out a blessing in disguise, because at 38 I began limping and the alternative offered was a surgery. It was precisely that attempt to limit my experience by a doctor that pushed me to find a way to health and I began experimenting by balancing food groups. I went 4 months without processed food, everything whole, natural or lean. Then, I went vegetarian for a week and exactly a week later I finally understood that only combination of plant-based, unprocessed food can cleanse and properly fuel our body to clear mind, energize the body and decrease stress, organically - no doctors, dieticians, neighbors, friends, social media, news can replace your innate ability to derrive common sense. Common sense that animal fat does not dissolve in water, but plant fat(i.e. avocadoes) does...imagine-people use detergents to wash the fat from the plates offl, but we don't chase our meals with detergent to wash the fat that cloggs up our arteries and covers our organs. People think of food as entertainment instead of fuel to energize - it became a drug, therefore to rid ourselves of the physical addiction we can learn what we eat, why we eat that and how we eat it on our own. The unnderstanding of food and eating has to happen in you first, only if all else fails you can turn for help of a professional, but once you create a spark and desire to be healthy, wow...I guarantee it is a life changing experience, because using your mind and intuition is genuine, rewarding and absolutely free!
@@honeybadger... Thanks so much for sharing. You have definitely raised some valid points and food for thought (no pun intended). I am so glad you found what works for you and are living your best life! As I am continuing on my journey to health and wellness and finding what works best for my mind and body, I appreciate hearing what works for others. I am anxious to continue learning by listening to my own body and mind to see what the next 50 years bring me. I'm happy to hear your point of view. ;) I wish you nothing but good health, happiness, and lots of laughter! 😊😊
Thanks! 😊 I have actually taken a nutrition course and made many personal changes since this video. But I always say each person has to find what works for them as we all have different needs.
Your title is completely misleading. These aren’t chaffles. Chaffles are CHeese-wAFFLES. - low carb, high protein. Hash browns are practically pure carbs. The LAST thing you made was the only actual chaffle in this whole video.
Hi there! I'm sorry you feel my title is misleading. That was definitely not my intent. I do not believe in "clickbait" titles at all. That's why I did not use the word keto anywhere, nor did I put the word chaffles at the beginning of the title. I put dash waffle maker ideas, using the word waffle. I then put chaffles and more, meaning chaffles were one of the things I made, plus others. I certainly did not mean to imply at all that these were all keto-type recipes, as my channel content is not keto at all.
I'd love to hear some of your favorite things to make on the mini waffle maker! Please share below!

I just double checked. Make sure you are using the corn ones, not the flour. For the corn ones they are 2 points for 3. I think the flour ones are higher.
@@PlanningUsHealthy Ahh. Wish I had checked points in the store!! I got the flour one! Thank you!
Walmart Carrie’s these for zero points. I haven’t tried them yet, but they’re on my list to try: La Banderita Carb Counter Street Taco Flour Tortillas, 16 count
@ 9:37 don't just scrape the melted cheese out, EAT it. Caramelized cheese is amazing.
Ohhhhh very true!!! 😋
These are quesadillas not street tacos ! :) cool recipes tho I will definitely try them out
Thanks so much! 😊
You're so welcome! Thank you so much, and welcome!! 😊
@@PlanningUsHealthy 🥰🥰🥰
I didn't know there was such a thing as street taco size tortillas!!
Aren't they awesome? We made little mini tacos on them a couple weeks ago. Makes you feel like you're eating more than you actually are.
Your nails are pretty!
Thank you! 😊
why do you spray if this is Non-stick? wouldn't the cheese be enough oil??
It's just something I've always done even with nonstick. I've had some things where the food still stuck to it, so it's more out of habit now. But you can definitely try it without the spray. ;)
@@PlanningUsHealthy thank you. Im trying to find healthy keto.. im kinda dirty keto. But enjoying your videos. Thank you for responding 😊
Some great ideas but children's portions.
They don't have to be. You can make two of the waffles and then depending if you're making a sandwich or whatever, you can bulk them up to your liking! 😊
👍🏻👍🏻
Salt and pepper in the eggs
Yes, any seasonings you prefer work great!
🥰😍
😊😊
French Toast Waffle?
Ohh, yes! YUM!!!!!
You break the egg directly into the waffle maker, then break the yolk and say your hubby doesn't like the yolk.
Why don't you just whisk the egg for a while before you cook it? Then have an omelette instead of an egg with white?
I do it both ways, depending on my mood. I actually like the egg white so sometimes I'll do it that way and sometimes I'll do it like an omelet. :)
@@PlanningUsHealthy I was suggesting the omelette option for your hubby, then he won't see the white 😉
@@DeeTeeCat2023 Ohhh, LOL! You know what's weird though - he loves deviled eggs! Go figure!
Forget the points and please give the Carbs.
I don't track carbs, so I don't know what they are when I film. But I do give links to the recipes, and that has all the nutritional facts listed there. 😊
@@PlanningUsHealthy good t know.
Points??
Points are for those counting WW points instead of calories. ;) Sorry - I don't think I explained that in the intro on this one.
The title doesn’t say KETO anywhere. 🙄 It says “Chaffles & MORE”. Sheesh!
That's correct. These are not keto, so I wouldn't put that in the title.
What's the point of counting calories when all you eat turns into fat?
I no longer count calories but thanks.
I did WW years ago before Oprah was involved. I know the program now and no need to go back. 💕
Or maybe YOU can mind your own business and let people do what THEY want to do. 🙄
I agree. @altheamc….. should mind her own business. Hater.
@@PlanningUsHealthy can’t go keto because of medical reasons? That comment makes no sense
Do you ever imagine yourself healthy?
Absolutely. I actually just had a doctor's appointment and I am in my best health - lab work has all improved substantially. I don't do WW or count calories anymore. I'm following the 80/20 rule now and learning to just listen to my body. Health doesn't show up in someone's outward appearance. Someone can be thin but not be healthy. ;)
You believe doctors over common sense?
