I had a friend who slowly lost his life after a high-speed crash on a Harley. High speed on a motorcycle is not a recipe for fun. Slow and go…any size…on a motorcycle will save your life. My friend crashed into a commercial truck that pulled out in front of him, he was paralyzed from the waist down, and after about five years his body gave in and quit. Motorcycles are fun. My first car was a motorcycle. Keep it slow and stay off the gas. You’ll save your life.

I had one of theses, rode it everywhere. I agree with you about cafe racers and cutting up valuable bikes to "create" one.

I have always wanted a Rebel 250. Then I found a 2005 Rebel 250 for sale for $2000. It had 2000 miles on it, never wrecked, a garage queen. Its really beautiful, it has what I call a burnt orange colour. I love it. Like you said, its not a racer, and thats PRECISELY why I bought it. Im an old man , so I got all that outta my system 40 years ago.Again, like you said , 45- 50 mph is its sweet spot. I dont do highways, I prefer back roads. Much more scenic!
A million years ago, I had a Honda CB750. I paid $850.00 for it. I waish I still had it, they are worth a lot more than that now. But they were heavy.

It's more fun to ride a "slow" bike fast than a "fast" bike slow!

I agree. Feels good hitting gears and feel the " fastness " of a small bike than just hitting 2nd gear and get over 80 mph on a bigger bike

I just sold my Kawasaki Vulcan 900 and replaced it with a Honda CB 300 R because the fun factor is so much higher. I have a blast on smaller bikes.

I agree. And with small bikes you can fill your garage with so many more bikes. I can barely fit 5 large touring bikes in my garage.

I definitely know how much fun a small bike can be, but I can't imagine having any fun on a crotch rocket no matter what size it is. I tried to ride one once, and the pain after 20 or so miles was unbearable, due to the super low bars, high rearset pegs, and no real seat. I was still in pain the next day. I wouldn't own a Vulcan 900because it is computerized. But I do have a Vulcan 750 and absolutely love it. I also have a carbureted Sportster 1200 and love that as well. But no crotch rockets. Big or small.

The one thing I don't like about the rebel 250 is the riding stance. I am not tall (5'7") and even I feel a tad cramped. Otherwise, I LOVE my rebel.

I have one of these in the UK . A 1998 model . I don't get the vibration you mention . None on footpegs or grips . Just a little through tank at 40 in fifth. I cruise all day at 55 . Above that it seems to rev pretty high . I am an older rider and the weight and seat height suit me fine . I also find it very comfirtable . It does need plenty of choke on cold days but I think that's normal . Happy riding mate .

I have owned one of these little jewels in my past and dearly loved the bike. What I did discover in the time I owned one of these is that once peaked out on the tuning that there was absolutely never any reason and no gain in cutting or removing the mufflers. And there is and never has been any scientific evidence that loud bikes save lives... it doesn't! These bikes run as good as they can run right off the showroom floor fully muffed and never need any modification. This little rant is not for Motard because he does testing but for everyone watching this video don't waste your money or the time trying to mod this bike away from factory because with a big whopping 18 horsepower nothing you do is going to make this machine any better than the factory setup and tune. Great video though, I did enjoy watching it!!

Do you think the carburetor would work in the extreme cold? I like to ride in December, january and February in iowa when it gets down to like 20 degrees farenheight. Itll get a lot colder than 20 but 20 degrees and up and im riding!

    • @abrahamsnyder7538

Carbs can chug on just fine in Iowa winters. The problem is roads. Don't go out unless the asphalt is dry. Go slower and dress warm. Fewer drivers in winter. Semi-trucks are your only friends. Sand and salt drive slow. Nobody likes riding in winter. Too cold. Only the strong survive.
