  • I am changing my guitar pick in the next 2 weeks. For 2 years I am playing the Dunlop Jazz 3 XL guitar pick but today I take the challenge of changing my guitar pick. From now on I will use the Dunlop Flow Pick with 2mm.
The Dunlop Flow guitar pick is a bit thicker and the edge is not as sharp as on the dunlop jazz 3 xl. Changing the guitar pick is a big mental process and nobody likes the idea of changing my guitar pick because it´s always stepping out of the comfort zone. I take this guitar pick challenge for you and we will see what happens! Backingtrack from www.bensound.com

    Hey, buddy!
    I know the feeling.
I was a huge jazz III guy for a while, then moved on to the 3.00mm Big Stubby's and tried the Flow Picks when I came across them a couple of years ago. 4.20mm and 3.00 mm are my top favorites. Love those!
Wishing you a happy shreddy new year!

I go Flow recently and I am loving it. Rhythm work is excellent and leads have a different tone to it and i love them.

Awesome! This video is a bit older now but I´m still playing the Flow pick. Keep on shredding!

I've tried the Dunlop Primetone Jazz III XL and the Dunlop Flow Standard, and their size and shape are nearly identical, with the Flow having a _very_ slightly sharper tip. It seemed to me that the Primetone had a _very_ slightly better grip to it--but not enough to matter. Both are made of Ultex. The Flow is _far_ cheaper, though, so it's what I would recommend. Personally, I usually use the Dunlop Primetone Small Triangle with Grip (I just wish it had a longer name).

I use flow 2.5mm-4.2mm and the 3.0 Big Stubby’s and Triangle Stubby’s. I play a 6 string bass, so they do wonders for me.

Awesome - thank you for sharing this! That proofs that thicker strings are easier to play with thicker picks

The Flow Pick is a variation of a Jazz Pick. Tortex Jazz Picks actually sound amazing on old Tenor Guitars in GDAE Octave Mandolin Tuning (with for example John Pearse #450 Strings) because it does create a mellower and rounder sound.

Thank you for the inspiration...I have to listen to some Mandolins now :)

I came across this when going to order more Flow 2.0 picks. I switched from the red Jazz III XLs just a month or two ago. Does anyone else have a big bag of different picks from past experiments?

Can’t stand the squeaking/chirping from the flows. The thicker the more squeak. Once you start hearing it on the high strings you can’t stop hearing it.
