@@213fc No one starts off a master at PvP, takes a lot of time, muscle memory, and real effort in the right places (many people have actual lives and don’t have the time to spare also). People that derive ego from killing players less versed in PvP are losers, seen this second hand. Very often they get an ego kick because they’re either unemployed, or aren’t spending their school years hanging out with friends and going to clubs / school events. It’s their only source of validation, so I kinda feel bad for people that get their ego from this game. Very often means their irl life is pretty miserable. Never known a toxic Deep player I learned more personally about to have a decent outside life. Other than that, enjoy games you play, and enjoy the process of getting better. The only thing in your control is being a better player than yesterday.
I played crim, I played blackout, I have played combat warriors (even when it just came out), I have played mortem and let me say, comp deepwoken is 100x worse.
there are 2 deepwoken players. ones that are nice and not toxic and ones that will dox you if you kill them in a roblox game even if it was in self defence. these people also go killing new players just for fun
I have no idea how i've been lucky enough to avoid this kind of toxicity, since i've been playing since like a month post release, and i've been active in the deepwoken discord for nearly as long and i've never seen this kind of stuff outside of the odd mention of a banned player. Maybe it's because im not a competitive player? Probably something along those lines anyways.
I'm relatively new (been playing for about 2 months now), and I haven't really had any experiences that have been exceedingly "toxic". So i feel like avoiding the toxicity isn't too difficult. I've definitely had unpleasant run-ins with people but nothing that really got me to stop playing, and as I've been getting better at the game I've been able to put those types of people in their place more often. I also try to do my part in making the game a little less toxic, I don't grip anyone unless it's for an oath or voidwalker or smth.
although toxicity is bad, games like rogue only survived because of the toxicity (which created an insane amount of competitiveness). Permadeath games in general are breeding grounds for toxic communites or atleast the one's ive seen.
i feel like the least toxic place/ people is found at starswept hive gate because everyone has the same goal, prog its a really nice change of pace than all the other areas
i dont know why people complain about deepwokens toxicity, yes its toxic, but ive seen WAY worse on roblox, so much so that ive had to QUIT games because i could not stop being constantly harassed, i have met way less toxic players in deepwoken then in some other games and have made lots of friends on deep too! i think that the minority (the toxic people) are causing the mose chaos therefore making it seem like they are the majority of players. (side note yes i have participated and still do take part in ganks and guild wars where as far as im aware thats where most of the toxicity comes from)

video was such an interesting watch, like it a lot. tldr of the yap session: i do also hope the community gets better, in a nutshell. it's such a shame this game fosters this kind of community where people just accept it as reality and tell people to adapt to it, i thought this type of behaviour was properly shoved in a closet for back in like. 2010? 2014? i don't remember anymore, but i had always seen a very clear change in the communities between now and back then, its a bit of a sucker punch to see an arguably worse version of it in a current day community, i really think everyone with a rational mindset to finally start waking up to this type of thing (as well as waking up to realize some very. inappropriate behaviour shouldn't just be looked away or encouraged even as a bit. imo.) plus if things change, maybe ill be more confident to let someone approach rather than log the moment i see someone running after me, it does get a bit lonely just learning the game by myself, but I don't really let that stop me.
I've played both games and I think Deepwoken is worse for toxicity. In Criminality, basically everyone is toxic, but it's pretty mild. Most that'll happen is somebody spamming ez or ganging up on you. In Deepwoken, people will legit hunt you down across servers, and even dox you just because they feel like it? Deepwoken has more nice players, but the ones that are toxic are ridiculous
the only reason why i got into deepwoken was because of videos i didnt like it but when my friends asked about it i said it was hard and some liked that and decided to play so i joined them now all 3 of us are addicted
Blame Uzu and enablers of bad behavior like Paragon. They let their successful projects slowly suffocate from lack of effort, content, and updates then blame their unsuccessful projects on the community and creators like Eclipse. Doesn’t help that Paragon is the ultimate yes man that keeps Uzu from being self critical about his projects. He always needs to make excuses for Uzu, thus learning nothing from his failures.

I’m an OG YBA player that migrated to Deepwoken. YBA is far worse, and a lot of toxicity comes from ego tripping mods/community managers like Paragon. (Pre 2020) Paragon got so angry years ago from criticism deriving from slow/terrible updates that he would pull people into his private server to “run the 1s”. This is a grown ass man trying to wave away criticism by beating children in a Roblox game people. The Deep community is full of abhorrent people and bad actors, but the dev and staff team are fairly tame. You can avoid most toxicity by just blocking people, and the staff team takes the removal of bad actors very seriously. So all that’s really left is toxicity, and people smart enough to be toxic without earning themselves a ban. Just a bunch of losers trying to push your buttons.
