These shots look great, and you did an amazing job of capturing the essence and beauty of Afghanistan. The cinematography is purely astonishing and the stories of all these individuals who never had a voice until now really helps to give insight on the truth about the beauty of Afghanistan and its people. Thank you for this, Ali, you did a truly amazing job.
Coco Bongo lol right, but you know how we say american? I though "afganistan" was appropriate enough. I know now though lol. Hobbit Fan I honesty didn't think about that.
I don't mean this in any was to come across racist. Most of the documentaries I've seen in the last 10 years are all filmed in Kabul. Kabul is now home to the entire Hazara (ethnic Mongol) population of Afghanistan. YES, they are Afghan nationals but the world needs to see other Afghans too. Pashtuns and Tajiks who are the ancient natives of the land are all but lost in these videos. Especially Pashtuns who are ethnic Afghans. Nobody wants to go the Kandahar or Helmand or Ghazni to film cause all the Afghans are being massacred every day. I told someone I was Afghan the other day and they said "thats strange, you don't look Asian" The reason is because a majority of Afghanistan is unsafe for Hazara's at the moment. Kabul has seen over 1 million Hazara people move to the city in the last decade. There really is a systematic genocide taking place in Afghanistan. I think when making these video's people need to be very careful in order to show Afghanistan's diversity. Even if it's hard to do at the moment in Kabul. You can pan through a market and you won't see one Pashtun or Tajik. You have to find them somehow, especially since the 2 groups make up the majority of Afghanistan's population (by a large amount). I'm sure I'll get a lot of hate comments in response to this but it is 100% true.
OMG! those smiles on the kids faces! Make my heart warm! Very excited!
