Put me in front of anyone in the gym and I’m good to go. They can be one of the pros, have 50 pounds on me, be way better. I’m good. The second you put a date and a stipulation of “competing”, I start getting in my head. Wish I could get rid of that feeling.

Thanks for sharing this. I see the main difference there is a win or loss as an outcome.
Things improve when you focus on the effort you put into your performance (which you can control) rather than the fight decision (which you can’t, unless you stop your opponent).

@@heatrick I see! So it feels different inside, physically and emotionally, not because not because you might win-or-lose per se, but rather because of the fact that a W or L counts a lot more in a pro fight than in a sparring match because fighting is your career, so it matters. The brain normally only reserves this ‘This one counts; the outcome of this fight really matters! Because it’s life or death’ kind of thinking for the streets.

Mr heatrick - Thank you for this so much because I have a tournament coming up and I usually have a hard time with the free fight nerds and this is a lot of how I feel all the time so thank you
My question to you is how do I keep my confidence either building up or built up for the fight because I feel like I want to be confident, but I'm also my own worst enemy in that case
You have something to talks about that or touches on that as well would be nice
