@@woodcarver Doug is the guy that got me interested in starting carving too. Plus I enjoy his outdoor adventures as well. I was watching this video on my iPad which I don't make comments on, so jumped down on the P.C. to tell you how much I enjoyed this one!
Thank you so much for calling out your dimensions!! It makes it so much easier to try and keep up with you and your skills ! Very few artisans will as your self will take the time to help a simple request as this. Also, my children and I loved watching your daughter follow your video on her first carving ! It was so fun to watch her follow you on the I pad how we have to lol. God Bless and thank you can't wait for your next one. Maybe you could do an original sasquatch or Bigfoot Or Yetti !! 🙂
Thanks for the fun project. I made one of these a few weeks back. Turned out great. I get alot peace and enjoyment watching you carve. Like you I carve a nice relax easy pace as well. One can learn so much using your techniques. Thank very for your time in making these wonderful videos. Means more than you know to alot of us watching.
@@woodcarver You are most welcome as I have had so much pleasure trying to carve many of your fantastic figures. I also appreciate it when you show the painting of them too.
Great video, thank you for making it. This chicken is so cute. I am in the middle of making one now. I am looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Another excellent carving and wonderful and instructing video. Keep up posting your creations and let us admire your master skills. And as others said, giving the dimensions of the blocks you use is very very helpful for us beginners. Thank you so much for everything.
Wow,, this is really amazing! I love what you have created, so full of personality. Thank you for sharing your talent! This is going to be my next project!
Great job!!! I may give this a try sometime soon, I am still trying my best to carve gifts for my family. So far I have carved several hearts and I'm going to try to carve a valentine penguin. Thank you for the videos! Keep up the awesome work!!!😎
Thank you for another great video! I love the character this guy has & can't wait to carve one! One minor thing: I think you meant to say that 73mm = 2.85" not 1.85" correct?
Complimenti per il lavoro. molto suggestivo e realistico. Proverò a seguire il video e rifarlo. Una domanda che legno usi? dai tuoi video sembra molto morbido. Interessante sarebbero anche dei consigli per affilare i coltelli. Ancora complimenti.
Hello! Well done and I really like this project, may I ask you how do you buy basswood as I understand that you live in Korea? I live in Japan and it seems pretty hard to buy! Thank you!
@@woodcarver Thank you for answering! i'll keep looking for it for and there is japanese linden (shinanoki) here, but i find it pretty hard to carve even if I prefer to buy local wood! :)

Probably not a Mora. Scandi grind is not preferred for such detailed woodcarving. I'm a member of the "Mora tribe", meaning that I have about a dozen various (and sometimes duplicate, one in carbon steel, the other stainless steel - depends on the intended use), Moras, which I believe are the greatest "bang for the buck" (not Buck knives, silly) knives on the market - but NONE of them I'd use for intricate work. Most experienced carvers use OCCT knives. Lynn Doughtry has been using a slightly modified Stanley utility knife with replaceable blades for many years.
🌟Your Roosters look absolutely amazing! Thanks for sharing this wonderful video! Just wondering what kind or brand of knife is that, that you are using? Where can I purchase one of these knives? 😊
I really enjoyed the video I have subsided your channel but please get a cut proof glove or try to remember not to cut towards your left thumb. I have to my mistake done it and had almost 20 stitches from the wood falling or me not concentrating none the less it bloody hurt. Good luck.
