That's the ironic thing about the split between union and league over a century ago. It was stupid. Most league players didn't earn anywhere near enough money to be really professional until the last four or five decades. Until then, most had day jobs. They weren't any less amateur than many amateur athletes in America playing various sports on company teams. And union players could be professionals in other sports. Famously, Tony Ward played professional soccer in Ireland while being an amateur international rugby union player for Ireland in the 80s. Some cricketers the same.

What are u on about? Rugby League players don't earn millions of dollars the highest paid player in the world only gets 1.2 million a year the average is only around $300k

If you have played for two years and are being paid 1.2 million a year, doesn't that add up to millions? Fair bloody dinkum.

@@rodneyolsen1888 That's the highest paid player in the world, if you're a good player you get like $600k, shit ones get like $250k.

@@joelwawrzyniak280 Yes and if you are good enough to have a decent career that last's for 10 years, that's 2 million dollars just being paid the lowest wage for a 1st grader. The lowest paid right now are all being paid 70k at least and they havent even play 1st grade yet. So million does come into it these days.

@@rodneyolsen1888 Yeah and I said Rugby League players don't get paid millions of dollars like soccer player meaning I mean't they don't get millions per season

@@joelwawrzyniak280 for fucks sake, if u earn 3 million fucking dollars over 5 years, it's millions you nit picking boofhead. Of course sokka players get paid more, they play a weak game that anyone with two functioning legs can play. Rugby players are big men, thus you only have a certain percentage play it as most men these days are sjw soyboys.

after watching multiple levels of rugby league i still cant seem to find as good as Union??

    • @ldfreitas9437

I would agree, except that union now looks a lot like league. I miss real rucks and recent law changes have made mauls a moving violation of obstruction. Unfortunately, goons liked to stamp on players at bottom of rucks instead of rucking the ball. So, no more real rucks but these phony ones.
