    I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your video. Without it, I would never have figured out how to remove the radiator from my 2009 Milan. BTW, I purchased my initial replacement radiator from an on line company. They offered several from different makers. I went with the second most expensive. Absolute junk. The dimensions between the mounting posts were 3/4 of an inch off. I returned it and went with the exact Motorcraft replacement. Costs a bit more, but went right into place when I installed. Attaching the condenser was the tricky part. Thanks again.

    Disconnect the battery in order to prevent air bag deployment since their are impact sensors right where the work is taking place. Fifty seconds of prevention is well worth it.

    Thanks for the video. This looks like a lot of fun. I'm tackling mine this morning. I had a 1984 Ford Mustang, and I replaced the radiator twice. Both took about an hour, because the car didn't have AC or an automatic transmission. Super simple. This won't be a quick, simple replacement.

    Thank you so much. I've been looking for a video to replace a 2010 Ford Fusion Radiator because I didn't know how to do it. Your video is exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you.

    You the man Rust Belt Auto! I followed your steps because I had a leak in the EXACT same spot on my radiator. After I R&R it took a gallon and a half of anti-freeze and a very small amount of trans fluid. I should probably change the trans fluid sometime so I didn't bother putting any back in.. Yet.

    Thanks for making this video. I would have been lost without it. Just got the stupid thing out. I said many of the same things you did about the Ford engineers in the process. Turns out there was nothing wrong with it. The problem was a 25 cent nut holding the trans cooler line fitting to the tank. I only found half of it.

    If you're dealing with the intercooler it's a lot easier to take the front end off. Honestly after doing both I think it's easier to just take front end off regardless.

    Absolutely despicable with all the junk attached to the rad. This is exactly why I'll keep my 1994 Toyota pickup around and alive forever... Nothing is attached to the rad but 2 hoses. Simple is SO much better. Thanks for the video.

      Yeah, terrible. I own a few Fords and they are basically junk, although the one is a F350 diesel van, it's ugly but fairly reliable.

      @@RustBeltAuto And it doesn't help that EVERYTHING is some kind of composite plastic, including the radiator support, so even trying to pry the clips off risks busting something else. I am starting to think it would be worth the extra money to just go get the entire assembly and replace it all as one unit.

    • @RustBeltAuto
      @RustBeltAuto  6 лет назад +2

      @@floodx4947 it's a cheap disposable car. Don't expect it to go back together the way it was. Just make it work to last longer than the rest of the thing. Radiators are cheap anyways. Those of us who seek perfection will surely never find it.

      Theres nothing really “attached” to the rad, its more or less just held in place through the rad for a more pleasing/neater asthenic.

      This job is like Lego's, or a snap together child playset. Be creative. Easy is a debatable term. Depends on the person. Usually easiest if a part of your brain doesn't work. Like an illusion.

    Engineers gather around at meetings and the guy with the worst idea gets a raise. This day and age we should not have to get annoyed pulling parts in and out of cars. Today's engineers were brought up in a Lego society so this is what they are used to. They love that snap noise.

    lmaoI. doing the timing chain on a 06 milan. Im with you on the "CRACK SMOKING FORD ENGINEERS"!!!!!! WTF!!!! The hardest thing I have ever done on a car. Everything is so damn tight like virgin you know what. If anyone has any questions on what I had to do holla cause you will get stuck for hours sometimes figuring how to get some of these damn clips and bolts. EXCELLENT VIDEO! Although I don't care for 4 bangers, I think I may consider one when I purchase my next vehicle. NEW OR USED!!!!!!!!! Much easier to work on! BUT....when you have the time and patience to DIY the rewards and knowledge gained is invaluable. Take your time people. "Happy Knucke Knocking!!!"

      @@pmp2559 how many miles are on your Fusion? Our 2009 with 160k miles has been pretty reliable and these model years statistically show to be reliable, but I guess every brand can have lemons, such as my mother's 2003 Honda Accord with 100k miles that burns a quart of oil every 400 miles.

    • @pmp2559
      @pmp2559 3 года назад +1

      @@mrau92me that’s true statement, at the time it had 123,xxx miles. Replacing an alternator on a v6 fusion involved a lot of patience I learned some new words that day. The little thermostat sensor for a/c went out at 109,xxx miles work to fix a $20 item was more than what it’s worth so I bypassed it with a fuse. It’s slightly smoking and burning oil not bad but does have a leak I’m trying to find coming from the sunroof or windshield haven’t found it yet. Have a 2005 Accord 117,122 miles I’m needs all motor mounts replaced. Best one I have is ram 1500 never had problems with it except for occasional driver window one touch not working so have to hold down the button. But I do agree with you on parts breaking no matter make, worse are electrical parts
