Glad I found this review through your Twitter. It was enjoyable to watch. I had very low expectations for Recollection especially after playing the demo. I enjoyed the DS game, but I didn't really like the Wii sequel. But after playing through Recollection, I was happy with the changes they made with the gameplay and story. I agree though, $60 is a lot for a game like this. I think $40 or even $30 would be a better price. But I'm willing to buy more copies for friends if we can get a Hotel Dusk remake.

Sorry to, but in on this conversation but I have to say if they do remaster Hotel dusk room 215 and it's sequel Last window secret of cape west I'm really hoping they keep it in 2d! The game really thrived off of the rotoscpoing animation and it would be really sad if they replaced that with 3d models... I think the game Chase cold case investigation's art style would really work for the hotel dusk remasters! Especially if they keep the sketch book feel! I'm actually playing through the second for the first time at the moment. I wasn't able to get my hands on it for quite some time since it's pretty pricey but I've finally got a copy and it's really good! It's definitely on par with the first one. I don't really know where I'm going with this reply so I'll just say this: If you enjoyed another code you're going to enjoy Hotel dusk. It's got writing just as good if not better than another code's! This is coming from a guy who played Hotel dusk before another code and I really enjoyed both! They both have a lot in common actually! And another code recollection has a Bunch of references to Hotel dusk in it!
@@mattbattmatt I still have my DS card of Hotel Dusk! If you ever get a chance to play it, please do. You might even agree it's the superior of the two DS Cing games (e.g. has way more puzzles). Maybe. There's also a neat behind-the-scenes video of how Last Window was animated by the uploader, "Tiny Cartridge" if you haven't seen it yet.
@@Shyguy2434 I agree! The Hotel Dusk (and probably Last Window as well) was a great DS game, but I also think rotoscoping animation really offered a unique experience. While I eventually got used to the 3D models in Another Code Recollection, the animation looked very janky at times. I have never heard of Chase: Cold Case Investigation, but I just took a peek of what it is. And now I'm sad I've never heard and by extension never played the game! But yeah, I think its art style would work great for the Hotel Dusk/Last Window remasters since Chase really looks like an extension of the Hotel Dusk world. You're playing Last Window? I'm totally not jealous right now. I played Another Code/Trace Memory before Hotel Dusk. I managed to play an emulator of Another Code R, but didn't have the familial connections to access a Last Window emulator. But I am forever a greater fan of Kyle Hyde's story than I am of Ashley Mizuki Robins's. Though I celebrate both series since they have artistic merit.
@Remendii yeah! I just beat last window and it was amazing! It's like if they really took the time to polish up hotel dusk! The characters are amazing and so is the writing! Definitely one of my favorite games I've played!

I'd be so happy to see hotel dusk return man. Never played it (may soon) but the artstyle there is gorgeous
