Such a great video! I loved how you've included inserts, cards and shopping lists etc. I wouldn't have thought to do that. I've never been into journaling or scrapbooking before but this has really inspired me to collect and record some memories :)
Thank you for sharing your album. I really like the 12 idea. I get the studio calico kits as well and like that you use the cards and embellishments loosely but incorporate more photos. I always try to use more cards which I think may slow down the process. Very inspiring watching this.
+Diane Martinez thanks! I tend to see it that photos take time before you work on the spread while journaling takes time during so it probably all evens out. 😍
Fabulous, loved it :) loved the idea of printing a larger pic and using it over a few pockets for a week where perhaps you haven't you taken a lot of pics (I'll be pinching that idea if that's ok hehe), and I lol'd at seeing the metal word embellies as it reminded me I have those up in the craft room too! Must dig those out!! Thank you, fab process video as always xxxx
+Kerry Barrell while working on my studio tour I realized I have so many making memory embellishments. I wonder if those old supplies will come back around?
Love seeing your album flip through Amy! The genealogy album you did (the photo you showed) was that a template and if so where did you get it from. My mother In-law has given me all of her ancestry family photos as she knows I will appreciate and do something with them. At the moment I look at them and just don't know where or how to start.
+Debbie Clark it is a daunting project. I'd be happy to show you how I organized it all. The pedigree chart you see is something I made in indesign. Not complicated but it did take time. If you're interested in seeing more message me.
Hi Amy! I love your projects, especially your approach to PL. I am wondering how you managed to fit a whole year of spreads (assuming 52) plus inserts into one album? I did the same approach last year, and my album is bursting and this year I’m only up to June and have had to start a 2nd album. I’d really like to stick with one per year. Any tips or suggestions? Thanks!
I actually have 2 albums per year. I did have my first couple years in one album, but with so many inserts I'm not able to fit it in to 1 album. The albums are just barely big enough. I wish someone would come up with a album that's just a wee bit bigger. It would save so much room.
Loved the flip through. I was trying to figure out where you got the geotags that had numbers (from your week 46) but don't show it mentioned in the supplies (that I can see). Do you remember where you got them from? Thank you!
I enjoy watching you do your pages. I love simple! I began PL with year 2015 and have only got 6 months into an album so far and though I like doing my spreads weekly I found that doing it weekly is hard because I take anywhere from 20-40 pics in a week (not very often at all do I take less than 20). So, I have a question, what do you suggest when taking large amounts of photos per week? Should I go to monthly title cards, or keep the weekly, but make tiny weekly cards that do not take a whole pocket so I can make room for more photos? My week usually takes up about 2- 2 page spreads. I do already cut pics down to less than 4x6 when I can. I also do a lot of 3x4 pics instead of printing them 4x6 as I can. Thanks for your input. Kimmer
+~ Kimmer I know exactly what you mean as I usually have anywhere from 50-150 photos a week😱. Seriously! I have recognized that not every photo needs to be shared and so I'm really picky. I choose the photos I feel best represent our week and then don't feel bad about what doesn't get in there, after all I will still have the photo just not in PL. Sometimes though if I just can't decide I do an insert. Definitely travel i will. It's a tough decision, but this is what works for me. I approach story telling the same way. I know I can't tell it all so I try to get what I think I'll want to remember most. Maybe monthly would be better for you and then it wouldn't matter how many spreads you had. Good luck! What ever you decide it will be right for you.
Thanks so much for your response. All your suggestions sound perfect. And luckily I like simple, so more room for photos. For some reasons I kept forgetting about doing inserts, so I will make sure I do those. Again thanks!
loved it! Great work. You are inspiring.

Where do you purchase the tabs for your inserts? I can't find them in stores. I love your process videos!
+Paula Trafton I heard they were being discontinued. I can't believe that is true. Try amazon.

Thanks for the video. I suscribed around Christmas so this was a nice catch up on the first months of 2016 :)

+Tianne Patten I got them from studio calico. It was a few year ago though.
Thank you Amy! I will make sure to keep my eyes open for those. So many possibilities!
