This episode spoke to me since I, too, have visited the ancestral town of my paternal grandparents. While I have returned 3 times, nothing compares to my initial visit when I actually saw my grandparent's home and church. A very emotional experience, to say the least
That is great Bernadine ! Where are your ancestors from ?
Wow how wonderful, had the same experience 20 years ago when we went back to our parents home town, Santo Pietro prov. Messina, not many people left in the town, I still have a cousin living there. Many tears shed then and now with your wonderful video. My father left for Australia back in the mid thirties and left my mother behind with two young children, was a long way to travel by ship, he was going to see what Australia had to offer. War broke out and they were separated for about 8 years. After the war my father went back and saw that there was no future for his family there and migrated to Australia, how courageous. Thanks again for your wonderful channel.😘
Just got back from Tusa where my grandparents came from as well. I am going to move there. I felt exactly as you describe to reconnect with roots. I brought 3 of my five kids and sister as well. 10 days. It was amazing
What wonderful scenes from Tusa! Yes, how I long to go to visit where my ancestors came from!
We are waiting for you Craig and Beth!

I am back in Tusa this week to rediscover my Grandfathers roots ( Surname Purpura) He immigrated from Tusa in 1908 to USA where he also settled in Lawrence to raise many generations of our family. He started an electrical service company called Purpura Electric in which he serviced all the residents of Lawrence, Mass. A lot of the times he did work for free to assist the townspeople who couldn't afford to pay. I understand there were at least 3 different families with the last name of Purpura from Tusa, when I visited Tusa 2 years ago. This information was given to me from one of the locals by the last name of Grillo. His mother's maiden name was Purpura, from Tusa. I would invite anyone to contact me if you would like me to so check on anything while I'm in Tusa this week. By the way I loved the video and it shows exactly the town as I remeber it. Ciao
Hi my grandparents were from Tusa and went to Lawrence. Family name Mugavero
Be sure to visit Bar Franco, my cousin Nino’s place enjoy
