well after 2 hours of trying to get my A2h address in with NO success i found you video and BoOoM got it within 5 mins cheers mate your a star , now to try to get the 5500 linked to it lol
I have a question... if you use say PO-101 which has a downlink on 145 and the switch to a satellite that has a 43x download is sat PC switching properly for you? for me the RX(top) vfo stays in the145 band
Dat noise floor, daaaang! Soooo jealous! Can't even fathom having a zero noise floor on VHF like that... (Mine is always +5 or worse, sadly.) Also, my com port is also the higher, not the lower. Not surprising considering how windows assigns com ports.
Hi Daniel I'm running a registered SatPC32 with the same version and I don't get Icom 9700 as an option in the drop down menu. I also do not get 155200 baud rate from the drop down menu. How is this possible?
Double check which update you have. They have released updated versions without updating the version number if I understand correctly. One update was specifically for the 9700.
Hi Daniel- Great videos. Thanks for taking the time to focus on the 9700. I got mine in October of last year when the prices went way down and just love the thing. Couple of questions for you: 1) Have you noticed the drift problem some people are complaining about? I have not, but I'm not using mine for 1296 MHz EME or 70 cm WSPR. 2) Are you using external, mast-mounted preamps? If so, what kind and how are you powering them? Just subscribed. Keep up the good work. Cheers, Karl // KD9LTQ
Karl Krogmann , thank you for the kind remarks. I have not noticed any drifting issues with mine, but I’m not running EME at the moment. I mainly use the rig for sats, 2m SSB, 70cm SSB, and 23cm SSB right now. I am running a SSB SP200 2m mast preamp and a SSB DCW 2004 B VHF Sequence-Controller run to the accessory port from a homemade din cable I made up. IMO Icom kind of dropped the ball not including a proper accessory plug like they usually do with their transceivers. Overall I’m very happy with the rig. It’s been an awesome addition to the shack.
