I went with the cps-60. I love the vintage look of the Gretsch Jim Dandy but couldn't get past the fact that it's made from laminated whitewood (very cheap). The solid spruce top made the Fender a no brainer choice for the same price range. It was on sale for $160 during black friday, quite the bargain for a solid top guitar and less than the laminated junk wood gretsch.
I don't particularly favor the Gretsch, and IMO the Recording King Dirty 30s single 0 is far, far superior, but I wouldn't call it junk; I've tried the fender and the Gretsch is as loud and IMO sounds a good deal better than the fender. As far as this video... =/
@@SkipPlaysStrings I'm very happy with the Fender after changing the nut, saddle and tuners. The tuners are junk. I replaced them with stewmac economy open gear tuners and they are lightyears better. The high e on the nut was cut a hair low causing some buzz so I changed the nut and saddle with tusq. I would have probably done that eventually anyway. This guitar sounds amazing and as far as volume, it's too loud for a late night couch strummer which is why I bought it. It will be a great for campfires or sitting on the porch.

Wonder what they sound like? 🙄
Nothing like a Best Guitar list video where you don't get to hear one guitar. WTF. Huge waste of time
robot narrator is the worst!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
