You guys are right when you said international hockey is big in Finland. I remember when they won the worlds in 2019 there were huge celebrations in the street with thousands of people and I don't think that would ever happen in North America. I remember Kakko looked so promising after that tournament too and even though I am an isles fan I respect what he did for his country that year and hope that isn't the last of his professional accomplishments.
Yeah that would definitely not happen in North America. In 🇺🇸 it would not even make SportsCenter or be at all on the radar of anyone who isn’t a very invested hockey fan who actively checks who won.
Bonus round question: name five non-NHL teams to win a Stanley Cup. Taking it back a century! Keep up the quizzes, loved seeing you guys on TV on Christmas Eve
Inspired by Sam: nhl first names quiz Could either be done in an a-z just like the last names, or perhaps where z provides a first name and the contestants have to provide a valid last name (eg. Peter, with possible answers bondra or forsberg) Love the quizzes keep it up!
anyone notice at 8:20 mixed up the gold medal games, the one in the question was against russia, but there was another with a golden goal against sweden
I know we've had strikes in the quizzes forever, but if you call them extra lives or 1 ups at least it'll be easier to keep track of. Love the content, made me a bigger fan of hockey!
Everytime I see something like this it brightens my day keep this up. With that said Jessie keep it up but you have just the dustiest gear and “drip” I’ve ever seen. Much love brother keep up the great vids
Am I working from home on the day after Christmas? Technically Am I actually watching the new Bardown quiz that just dropped? Absolutely Thanks for giving me a reason to be sitting in front of my computer today, Bardown. Happy holidays.
A couple quiz ideas... Hockey Movie Quiz- lots of options with this one. Can show clips of the film, sound bites, read lines, trivia about the film itself. 2.0 on a couple previous quizzes - Goalie Masks, Famous broadcast calls, video games Decades Quizzes- Format might have to be untraditional, but for example for the 90's Top 5 in goals, assists, points, wins etc.
I would love to see some sort of behind the scenes for how these are made, I’m always curious about how they film these and how the guy interact with each orher
here's two for a bonus question. 1.which two teams played the first NHL game ANNND Who won? 2. Who scored the first ever NHL goal? I enjoy all the videos keep em coming boyz.
At last! Quiz that I have waited over 3 years 🤩. Bonus round question suggestion: Rarely an NHL team has to stay away from their home arena during the regular season but 2 Canadien teams had to do it in last 10 years because of natural disaster. Wich teams they were? Also quiz suggestion Rivalry quiz. A quiz about player and team rivalrys like question about Battle of Alberta and question about Tkachuck and Doughty rivalry
Another quiz makes for a great Boxing Day present. I especially love the strike tracker. Unfortunately I know next to nothing about World Juniors so I would have gone out before Sam. Outdoor Games quiz next, please?
5:46 I WAS AT THIS GAME! 2018 in Buffalo! I was 5 rows away on the left side and shaw the medal fly over the boards. Genuinely thought it was a joke, still can’t believe it to this day
21:02 "In your street clothes in a hallway" shows a bit of a lack in understanding how the sport worked back then (and even in the early 2000's I guess). That hallway, I think is inside the same arena where Soviets and Canadians are beating the shit out of each other, and is the hallway to Finnish locker room. The style back then was that if the medalists were already clear, they were all present in the final game of the tournament, and received their medals on the ice, most often leading to pictures of three teams standing on the ice, two of them wearing their hockey gear, and one all dressed up in their finest suits. Finland had secured a medal in these games, but due to the tournament system back then being different, the colour of said medal was to be defined by the result of the last game, and same goes for Canada also. Soviets had no chance of getting a medal, no matter how badly they beat Canada, and actually Canada had pretty much one scenario which could bring them a gold medal: beat the Soviets by 5 goals or more. All due respect to Canada and their roster in those games, I find it hard to believe they could have pulled off a gold from these games. So as Canada and Soviet Union get ready for the puck drop in the last game of the tournament, Finnish team dresses in their suits and takes a bus to the arena to watch the game in their locker room. The players on that team have later recalled that when they shut the lights from the rink and cut the broadcast, it was a hell to live through the wating for the decision from the IIHF about the solution of the game. Once the players from team Canada started to come to Finnish locker room to congratulate them for their gold medals, they realized they had won. So yeah, they celebrated in the hallway, because there was no other place for them to be in. And they did so in what in those days standards were probably the finest suits made in Finland.
Since Luca is a closet leafs fan he should get this, name the last 5 maple leafs head coaches and their years they severed as the teams head coach. Also great vid can’t wait for more quizzes❤
A quiz that is focused on players over 34 years old. The veterans quiz with questions like most points, oldest player to get a shutout, 5 oldest players to play in nhl, etc.
I was there when Kapanen scored the game winning goal in OT and it obviously was a great hockey moment.. Just moments before Provorov tied, fans have had their one battle in the stands. Whenever Russian fans chanted, the Finnish fans responded. And it went on for long. All of a sudden we were silenced, just seconds before we were about to win gold. Some just lost their faith already, as we had a history of just messing up. And then... the wrap around happened. The place went nuts.
Quiz Idea: Take the top 3 goalies from each team and they have to name 1 from all 32 teams. Another idea: at the start they can select 2 teams they don't have to name so you have an even 30 teams.
Man I love the world juniors, so happy you finally did a quiz on it! Also bonus question idea: 12 different players have scored 8 or more points in a single NHL game, name 6 of them.
Forsberg, obviously. Did Naslund do it in that same game? I watched a Russian do it but I can't remember if it was Malkin or Kuznetsov. I don't think a Canadian has ever done it, so now I'm just thinking about guys with big tournament point totals from other countries. Helminen, Reichel, Jagr, Mogilny, and Bure. How many of those guesses did I land?
It's crazy that Shesterkin and Sorokin were the two goalies who got lit up for 5 goals by Canada in 2015, and that they're both top 5 in all time save %
May be an easy topic but to a quiz on NHL themes. Kind of like the goal horn quiz where a theme is played and you have guess which theme it is. like the NBC theme, the TNT theme, the ESPN theme, Hockey Night in Canada, etc.. Again, may be an easy topic but it may be of interest.
The heck is the stark-white-eyes clip at 19:47 from? Sure woke me up Also, looking forward to The BarDown Quiz Special hosted by Jesse "69" Pollock - he's earned it (:
I remember the Captain quiz. In there you mention that just so name every captains would be way to easy. But what if name every Captain AND theres Assist captains
The quiz is back! I love it. If you ever wondered if Z gets his ideas from ChatGPT… here are - according to the almighty AI - the 10 best hockey stats of all time (apparently): 1. **Fastest Goal:** Bill Mosienko holds the record for the fastest hat trick in NHL history, scoring three goals in 21 seconds in 1952. 2. **Longest Game:** The longest NHL game occurred in 1936 between the Detroit Red Wings and Montreal Maroons, lasting six overtimes. 3. **Wayne Gretzky's Records:** Gretzky, known as "The Great One," holds numerous records, including most career goals and points in the NHL. 4. **Miracle on Ice:** The 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team's unexpected victory over the Soviet Union is often referred to as the "Miracle on Ice." 5. **Original Six Teams:** The NHL originally had only six teams (Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks, and New York Rangers) until expansion in 1967. 6. **Bobby Orr's Flying Goal:** Bobby Orr's iconic goal in the 1970 Stanley Cup Final shows him soaring through the air after scoring the championship-winning goal. 7. **Gordie Howe's Career:** Gordie Howe played professional hockey for five decades, setting records for durability and longevity. 8. **Dominik Hasek's Dominance:** Hasek, a goaltending legend, is known for his unorthodox style and won the Vezina Trophy six times. 9. **Maurice Richard's 50 Goals in 50 Games:** Maurice "Rocket" Richard was the first to achieve the milestone of 50 goals in 50 games during the 1944-45 season. 10. **The Stanley Cup's Travel Adventures:** The Stanley Cup has been on some extraordinary journeys, including being used as a cereal bowl and spending a night at the bottom of Mario Lemieux's pool.
Those junior teams fighting in Piestany were stacked. Soviets had Mogilny. Fedorov, Konstantinov, Malakhov, Zelepukin. Galchenyuk... Canada had Shanahan, Fleury, Keane, Turgeon, Sanipass, Wesley, Chiasson, Chris Joseph, Hawgood... Finland played really well. They beat Soviets, USA, Czechoslovakia, tied Canada. Since there was no medal games, Canada had to win Soviets in the last game of the tournament by five goals. Score was 4-2 to Canada, so most likely Finland would have won even without the the disqualification on Canada and Soviets.
BarDown FINALLY has its own RUclips channel! Give us a sub 👀

The cutaway to the Duckworth incident made me literally LOL. Amazing work as always, guys ❤
I rewatched this video after 8 months, LOL'd again, wanted to write a comment about it, only to find out I already have. 😆

That Kapanen goal still gives me chills to this day when I re-watch it, amazing moment

Just a historic beating the Soviet quiz, get the Summit Series in there with Miracle
I would think an Youngblood quiz first then do The Big Brother Quiz after
I love the Alan wake 2 shoutouts the whole quiz, that’s one of the best games ever made easily.
Inspired by Sam: nhl first names quiz

Video was funny as hell especially during the Punch up in Piestany and the edit at 10:10
Z and Corwin are confirmed men of taste, thanks for the Alan Wake nods.
Big fan of the Thomas bit, especially the ending

Jesse saying "Applebee's? Best lemonade in the game today" for NO REASON. I have never laughed harder
Bonus question idea: 6 defensemen have scored 100 points or more in a season, name all 6…
Tuukka Rask is underrated as shit cause he’s 6 in save percentage with playing 15 seasons and is 3rd with a minimum of 500 games. That’s nuts
8:53 - Corwin, wrong year! Ristolainen did score a golden goal for Finland, but that was in 2014!

A quiz that is focused on players over 34 years old. The veterans quiz with questions like most points, oldest player to get a shutout, 5 oldest players to play in nhl, etc.
