    Personally I'd had fit the gear and brake disc differently - make a slide-on sheath that you can bolt onto the axel in case you ever need to change either of them in the future. Say you want to change the gearing - because you welded a mount on either side of the gear you'd have to cut things off and re-weld after. It's a minor gripe but if I were building my own it's one thing I'd change. Does look fun though. Well built as usual.
    Lining the battery box wit cardboard is a nice touch - cuts down noise and reduces wear & tear on the batteries. Some of your other projects have given cause for concern when you have the sharp end of screws right next to the batteries. This one is a huge improvement.

    • @SapienAnamoly
      @SapienAnamoly 2 года назад

      Yea. The brake gear could unscrew and slide off after tire removal, I think. But the drive gear is in between two welded mounts, so u gotta point there.

    • @Lordofthegods-te5ek
      @Lordofthegods-te5ek 8 месяцев назад

      True but at the speed that this thing goes I don’t think any part is braking anytime soon 😂 bro made a Toyota type go kart. Super reliable 🤷‍♂️

  • @HunterOrock

    That was just amazing to watch. I just finished both parts. You are truly skilled. And you editing really added to my enjoyment. Well done. I have recently begun training as a black smith and am now hoping to learn welding. And I would love to make one of these for my kids. They just asked for a go-kart last week so I've been thinking of building an electric one with them as a learning project. If anyone knows of a good set of plans for a beginner add to my comment please. I am comfortable cutting and drilling steel and working with metal. This type of smart simple engineering and fabrication is a pleasure to watch. Thank you.

I would very much like to try to make one like yours, I live in Brazil and I don't understand electronics very well and if you specified the items for the construction it would help a lot.
    If I can put the specifications of the items on at least this kart I will be very happy.

    Wonderful build but woefully under batteried...750 watt/hr lead acid pack will never give your 3kw and if they would only for 15 mins till flat, but they can't anyhow. Maybe also needs gearing improved...Bigger wheels! but likely just battery issue. Also fatter cable would be a good idea as you will drop voltage across a long run carrying 55A or so and considering you need every volt you can get.
    Your speedo was measuring metres an hour??? Not km/h surely😸
    Subscribed...Fantastic...But give us more detail on parts. I had to use my projector and blow up the screen to see that battery.
    Edit PS. This comment deserves a heart 😻

    • @martinda7446
      @martinda7446 3 года назад +3

      I don't think the speedo was calibrated at all. It looks like he was doing under 20mph. The gearing needs sorting out. Why also did someone push it at the start?? Surely if its poorly geared its going to have massive torque instead of speed...
      So.. The other thing is the motor requires according to blurb above 60v for its rated output of 3kw, or 4 horsepower. The controller needs to deliver 50 amps or 16.6A per phase @60V rms (these often have efficiency of 90% or so) those batteries are 13 A/h lead acid, so he will have 15 minutes run time at full power. He needs better batteries and likely more suitable gearing. (The battery pack is 780w/h). I doubt they could deliver the required 55A for more than a minute or two and then voltage would droop anyhow so you would never get the 3kw. More sensible would be a kw (one) I'd expect from those at full whack.

    geez. Look at the size of that controller! 60v 3000W.. My scooter is 84V 8400W and has 24 mosfets and the controller is half that size.. Why is that one so enormous?
    Awesome build though, as always.

    lol the thread count on the harness bolts is like 1 1/2 threads on that thin a wall pipe, and your doing it on the most important part. A nut should have been welded on and buckle bolted to that.
