When I first cracked them open I was actually quite surprised about the quality, they even have insulation against the solenoid. Those harnesses have connectors that line up with the pins on the main board and there is a main connector that is used for easy disconnect when you have it in a machine, separate the whole lot and you will see one end of the cables go to the board and the others to LED's and buttons with a larger connecter in the middle for easy disconnection. That board shows up in windows as a HID keyboard, technically you don't need it but I use it too keep all the controls in the same place and run the LED's from it as it supply's a constant 12 and 5v.
So the big question I have for you Ralph is are you going to actually build an Aliens Gun Cab? If so are you going to just modify an Arcade1up cab to do it?
These look awesome, the crazy mess of a harness looks intimidating when I first saw it to be honest. But once one finds out where and what goes where, I'm sure that it will be easier. Looking forward to more videos on this set up and maybe you and Kim can give it another go with these new guns. Hopefully she doesn't take all the ammunition and power ups. Haha!
Ralph do this gun have a 24 or a 12v recoil unit? 24v is known to burn these guns out my question is will running this gun on 24volt gonna burn out the recoil unit?
Thanks for the great distraction in my day! Were these originally made for arcade use, or are they made primarily for home use? I was curious because I was wondering if the reason they were wired backwards, was because they were intended to be used on the arcade machines that have the CRT mounted facing up on the bottom and use a mirror to display the screen. That would require the controls to be reversed correct? And maybe that was what all the extra wires were for...different types of arcade harnesses. Just a thought.

Hey .. I think I get it..... the next project .. After the pedestal.... !! One of this install in one camera Tripod like real Machine gun connect to my hyperspin !!
so.. I tried to understand how it works: it just measure the movement of gun to convert its mechanical movement to mouse cursor location. that's all I guess. only drawback is that It doesn't really match where it actually point since it just measure how much gun is moved.. mechanically(potentio-meter). at gun point no signal or any light comes out since it is just.. a gun shaped analog joystick. It would work with any display since it does not interact with display at all.. If force feedback is great then I would use this for LA machinegun arcade..
part of what you do when you set these up is re-calibrate the gun's 'limits' to the screen borders to help it match better. as for the force-feedback, there's probably an API somewhere to make that work on other games, just not implemented.
I personally haven’t tested it with TP but a buddy of mine has and it does work but getting the feedback to work on certain games I believe is a challenge.
I got mine in and they work sweet so far , just need to test the 24V kickback. But great things to come , going to make some cool units from these . Thanks buddy

Just placed my order for them hope they come in soon :) and i dont get scammed man cant wait
Just bought one after your review.......
Great video as always! :)
do the guns show up as rawinputs like aimtraks? so technically this could work for any light gun game correct?
They show up as analog joysticks
@@Brad-D hey brad! Thank u for clarifying! I follow you too, both you and Ralph and Andy from sinden are my favorites . Thanks to all of your hardwork I’m able to get my cabinet up and running the way I want
@@raymonddai 😇
Have any of you guys bought an actual arcade machine from aliexpress or alibaba? There is some insane stuff on there cheap. Who knows what you actually get but it is tempting
can i ask you something? is there a way to bridge the solenoid and the led to the trigger to work with all arcade games?
Great video, does anyone know where you could buy a plug and play (fully assembled) version of these type of guns? Sorry I do not have Ralph's experience or technical abilities.
Got my guns how would i splice those wires tho? For lights and force feedback
are you running this with the teknoparrot version of aliens
No, it’s a stand alone PC image
Hey do the black usb guns work with the other unit you had with the pink and blue guns I want to know if the Ammo counter works with the other system I have bought the other unit and I really want the ammo counter so I bought the black guns as well have not received them yet if you can can you test to see if the ammo counter works
Hello.
Thanks for all your videos.
Please i go to use the pcb inside this gun, to convert an original taito operation thunderbolt to usb.
Can you tell me the value of the potentiometers on your gun.
I buy the spare part electronic you have in this gun, from aliexpres.
Thanks.
Just got my alien guns didnt come with cords?? Just the gun its self
You got to do a T2 fixed gun mod with those guns on an arcade 1 up!!!!!
I am very curious to see if this usb gun would respond on a atgames legend. Would you mine trying it out ????
i have mine today :D
Lol! With the up/down left/right issue you probably only needed to flip the gun around. It was most likely just built incorrectly rather than wired incorrectly Or....you could just resolder it 😆
Damn. Now you're making me want to start a new project.
=...(
Im looking at building a shell for these , like my orginal cabinet its the same shape as these units, be looking at doing kits up.
Looking 4ward to seeing this 🤟👍
Hello, greetings, do you have an update on this kit? I got a supplier with a good price and I would like to buy the pair for my arcade project with pc emulators, have you already discovered how to prepare the board with which it comes? Can you help me make a tutorial? Thankful, greetings from Venezuela
It’s sad that the recoil only works on those two games. Let me know if you figure out a way to make it work on others.
Very cool!
Would this work with coins ops. Or could it plug into the pc and also have your board with buttons also plugged in seperatly. ?
yup
hi do you have tutorial to set up wii mote as a gun on retropie ? thans from france
Aaaafirmative!
It’s sounds just like the T2 guns!!!!
This is Awesome!
hi, can you please share some of you mame sesitivity settings for this? thank.
That’s dope. 🦊👊🏼
✊🏻 Thanks for watching dude!
By the time I get my Sinden’s, I will be at retirement age.
I feel you.
Bruh could please do video for wire this bad boys up very appreciate
been doing some good tests on these , Have you came across any other games that the force feed back works I can only gen aliens to work . These guns are the dogs bollocks ,Im well pleased. Ill be uploading a video tonight of a handfull of cool tekno parrot games running and setup with these.
If you uploading a video why the hell you asking ralph if any other games works?
@@vincentthompson1696 i ment to put the feedback ,on the guns working but i sorted that out through mame hooker and shared the configs with brad in the arcade scene and hes just released a vid , , i was meaning the force feed back dude
oh you deleted your comment , your the guy wanted me to share my mame hooker setup , im glad i didnt now with a message like that, I come across some cool people in the arcade scene what im always happy to help out but there is them few always out for themselfs. I think ill keep my mame hooker setup close and any new developement I do and not share anything out, you know after you posted it I could still see that comment, and your previous comment seemed also crappy. as for the PC hardware I include in my mod is for everything to be self contained , SFF (Small Form Factor) into the control panek for that its exspensive with Mini ITX motherboards, and custom PSUs
It’s awesome
You are correct on movement, however force feedback is encoded for Aliens and Farcry only.
part of what you do when you set these up is re-calibrate the gun's 'limits' to the screen borders to help it match better. as for the force-feedback, there's probably an API somewhere to make that work on other games, just not implemented.
does it work for teknoparrot?
I personally haven’t tested it with TP but a buddy of mine has and it does work but getting the feedback to work on certain games I believe is a challenge.
Pretty damn cool 👍👍
I got mine in and they work sweet so far , just need to test the 24V kickback. But great things to come , going to make some cool units from these . Thanks buddy
Awesome man, glad to hear it!
Hello friend . Do you know what the 1 pin green wire is for? And what to do with it? I’m lost. Thanks
operation wolf
THIS WOULD GUNDAM!!!!! lol
I bought two of these after seeing someones gun pedestal they made. I didn’t know they would require soldering, is there a possible software solution to reversing the directions?
For mame it should be no problem, but teknoparrot there is no way around it. It’s very easy to rewire.
@@raychow5419 Thanks, I’ve never soldered anything yet but this looks like an easy one to start with.
@@heathbass Mine weren't reversed when I got them but one of the wires had broken off the X-axis POT so I had to break out the soldering iron anyway :-/
@@Brad-D Thanks Brad, you’re the reason I got them! I’m glad yours weren’t reversed, hopefully mine will be the same but if I have to learn a little soldering that will be fun too.
@@heathbass Soldering is super fun! :)
