Luke was not only a historian but a detective of the highest intellectual integrity. The facts are validated by multitudes of references then written of.

Hi Dave and guys. Always good to see new material from you and Cold Water. I truly believe that you are furthering the Gospel by revealing the archilogical record which supports so much of what skeptics have said wasn't there. But hey, it is! Just like God's word said. So thanks, and for making us smile along the way. Humor is a God given thing too. 😂

Luke 22: 43 & 44 got me asking questions. How did Luke record an angel coming to strengthen Jesus and his sweat was like drops of blood falling on the ground when Luke wasn't even there. Remember Peter, James and John had to sit back while Jesus went in ALONE. I PRAY THE SPIRIT OF GOD HELPS ME TO UNDERSTAND THIS

    • @lukecasul

The spirit of God inspires all writing. Luke did not need to be there nor read other sources. The Word of the Lord is exactly as God told him to. We have to trust that those are the true and right words. All his words must be true and right.

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. for the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:20,21
Luke wrote the account by revelation he recieved from God.

Luke's accuracy of the biblical accounts solidifies his place amongst the greatest of historians. Anyone who doubts the apostle Paul's writings would have to agree that Luke was a fake then. Which he was not a fake but a man used by Yahweh to give an accurate account of bible history.

@3:30 It appears your picture of William Ramsay is the wrong William Ramsay. You depicted William Ramsay the Nobel Prize winner for Chemistry. How can Acts be "a careful record of history" when it leaves out crucial information from that history? Luke omits the bitterly fracturing controversy concerning circumcision. If we only had Luke to rely on, we would know nothing of Pauls experience with the Galatians and the ensuing controversy.
The only thing Luke is "careful" about is leaving out inconvenient facts. How that makes him a historian is anyones guess.

      No.

No independent nation called Palestine ever existed. There was a Roman province called Palestinia-Syriana after the Bar Kochva revolt in 135-138 A.D. The Greeks did refer to the area as Palestine due the Philistines that had lived there along the coastal strip of Gaza to Ashkelon centuries earlier as the Philistines were familiar to the Greeks as the had migrated from the Aegean Sea area. Philistines means 'invader'.
Of course their were at times province under the Ottomans and finally the British Mandate of Palestine but at no stage in history did a country exist called Palestine with its capital being Jerusalem.
Israel as nation state in the form of a federation under Judges existed from about 1400 until about 1050 when Israel became a kingdom. You may have heard of their kings, Saul, David and Solomon who set up a multi regional trade network using Pheonecia ships. Solomon built the temple in 971b.c.
Jerusalem was also referred to as Zion or the City of David.
That kingdom split into two and the northern kingdom was eventually destroyed by the Assyrians and a century and a half later the south kingdom was invaded and the remaining remnant of Philitia was destroyed by the Babylonians.
The Israelites of the southern kingdom went into Babylonian exile in 586b.c
The Persians took over Babylon and Cyrus the Great issued a decree that the Israelites (also referred to as Jews because of Judea) could return to Jerusalem and rebuild the city and then they rebuild the temple which us referred to as Zerubbabel's temple. That's the temple that Herod would do a massive facelift on as well as build up around it The Temple Mount which you can visit today, absent of 'Herod's temple', which had been destroyed by Titus in 70A.D.
God said He would scatter the Jews throughout all the world and then towards the end, bring back the Jewish people and make a nation again in one day. That happened May 14, 1948. Just as the Lord has promised. In times, all of Israel will come to know Jesus of Nazareth as their Messiah.
Jesus Christ is soon to return. Are you ready, do you know Jesus Christ as the saviour of all those who will call upon His name?

There's no evidence to support your claims. Luke is indeed a historian, he doesn't copy Mark however he arranges the eye witnesses of the accounts of Jesus he has received. Some scholars says he is based on Mark. Which possibility is true, but Luke adds additional stories.
At the end of the day the Quran was written after the gospels so we cant say it's true
