Happy new year George and kimb! Great fruits set and since you are near the passion fruit I keep looking for the granadilla vine, how’s she progressing along?
In my opinion, grumichama is sweeter than traditional cherry when fully ripe with a sharp tart after taste. I wish wax jambu would survive here, it's on another level with its exotic fragrance and watery crunch.
Hi George, Happy New Year. I view your channel from Guyana South America. Just a little correction for you on the cold climate fruit trees. You can get them to germinate and grow in the tropics what may be a difficult task is to get them to fruit. Some persons have had success mimicking the winter season by removing all the leaves from the trees and sometimes they will get fruit. I've had success with table grapes, I'm currently nurturing a grafted apple and a nectarine tree, fingers crossed.
Ok, I wasn't precise in my statement, but the bottom line is, stone fruit and apples generally won't fruit in the true tropics. Thanks for sharing the tip that works for some!
I’m new to your channel, really impressive garden, I’m in Adelaide. I’ve recently planted an acerola cherry , is that the same? I got from Daley’s. I’m also hoping the wax jambu takes off, apparently they do well here. Lovely garden, keep up the good work , cheers.
Acerola is a different tropical cherry, it's not as sweet and less cold tolerant then grumichama, Wax jambu is also cold sensitive, it will need protection in winter. Thanks for watching.
It's looks so yummy! I can't wait for mine to grow and fruits I got 5 of these trees and only three are growing well, only been one year in the ground thought.
But you can't compare Melbourne to any climate in the UK, or where I live in Belgium. We get occasional frosts to -15C and have less sun. We can't grow that here outside.
The first large tree that I saw was at a nursery which gave me the inspiration to grow it. It was 4 metres tall with hundreds of large fruit, sadly, it was cut down.
Geez mate, they really take off mid summer! Beautiful
Yes they do! They come on two weeks early with a warmer start to summer.
George is your grumichama north facing in full sun? Or is it grown in part shade?
North facing in part shade.
Another great video! Thank you for the inspiration, I need to buy myself a grumichama tree.
Go for it!
would you say the Grumichama is as cold hardy as the lemon guava??
Both are equally cold proof where I am. Lemon guava would be the winner in a real world comparison.
Happy new year George and kimb! Great fruits set and since you are near the passion fruit I keep looking for the granadilla vine, how’s she progressing along?
I have no granadilla. I have sweet lilikoi which is lost somewhere in the original panama vine.
Happy new year George. Is that taste similarly like cherry? Which one has better taste?

@@RealLifeFruitopia wow, it's so slow then. I bought one from daleys, and after a year in ground it's just have put 20 cm growth. very slow indeed
@@mohsenm.razlighi3976 Yep, they are slow because they do nothing during the colder months.

@@RealLifeFruitopia thank you for the tip. I will definitely look at getting one of the Grumichama then.
Incredible! Do you use any kind of fertilizer for your plants and trees? It's amazing how it's loaded! :D
Yes I do! Premium organic compost at the beginning of spring and summer with slow release pellets.
@@RealLifeFruitopia awesome! and you buy the compost form the store or you make it yourself?
Awesome results by the way! :D
@@Gonzalo_M Compost is from the store. Mulch is mine from chop and drop.
Fabulous crop as usual George, I'd be delighted to get one haha
Fingers crossed you get some!

Using microclimates and greenhouses, some growers in central Europe and UK have had miracles happen.
Нарру New Year❤
Saan po pueding mag order nyan?
Where are you?
I want this plant😊..have you seeds.?.😊 can you send in Ukraine😊?

It's better to get them and eat while you watch tv.
You have the biggest lemon guava I've seen yet, and I watch too many of these types of videos.
