It can be a great venue, and it can fish really well. Gets a good run of tide, and there is always water there, just wasn't to be this time. Access is super easy too John. 30 seconds with your gear and your fishing 👍🎣🎣

Better luck on the next one it's hard going everywhere fished chesiel yesterday same as you dogs and straps no more big Conger but you have got to be in it to win it,🤞👍

Still catching though Phil, so not all bad. I'm not a fan of Egypt if I'm honest. It's super tackle hungry, worse than fort Victoria, but it is deep, and there are some big rays down there. You could probably catch anything down there. Maybe I should give it more of a chance. Now I'm talking about it, I fancy giving it a go again😂😂👍🎣🎣

another excellent watch, sign of a good champ, get on the board first match and pressure eases a bit. i thought it was more informative on bait, tackle, tactics etc... this time, whether it was because bites were few and far between and you had more time for the cam. cheers.
Thanks Mick, I do try to show rigs, and bait etc, maybe more so with the comps, I think it's probably because I'm voicing my thoughts, and the desperation to catch a fish 😂😂. I hope you enjoyed though mate👍🎣🎣

It looks like you tried almost everything there Dylan. Going back to your previous video with the big conger taking the small one I’m surprised that you didn’t sacrifice one of those tiny straps and put a section on a penned. You tried everything else, you never know. At least you weighed in. Good luck for the next one 🪿
Do you knock me mate, that never crossed my mind, maybe I should have😂😂, I felt like I tried everything. I don't feel that bad though, as noone really had loads. Definitely a hard one that time, thanks mate🎣👍👍
Hey Andy mate, we don't have a weigh in as such, on the night. We roughly know how we did, by chatting at the end. But we don't find out until the following day. Keeps the anticipation levels up😂😂👍🎣
Nice one Dylan, just a question? I only freshwater fish and you have to be very quiet so you don't let the fish know your there. When you use braid the noise from your reel is very loud that has got to travel down to your lead ( like the two tins and a length of string telephone) letting all fish know you are there? Just a thought mate.
Thanks for that John, that does make perfect sense. I'm thinking with all the other noise in the sea, I'm not sure it would make that much difference though. Lakes/ponds etc, are super quiet, but there is a lot of movement in the tide. Who knows, that's definitely made me think though👍🎣🎣
What braid were you using and what thickness? 👏👏👏 you’re smashing it! I wish RUclips was around when I was learning (I still am) it’d saved SO many blanks LOL. Tight lines bud 🤞😂👍
Hey Iain buddy. One thing I've found since I started, is I don't think anyone knows all there is, and for me certainly is a huge learning curve. The braid is a 50lb 8 strand generic one from eBay. Cheap and cheerful. And is use a 60lb leader bit tapered, so I can try and pull out of most stuff. I have bought a 70lb 4 strand to go straight through no leader, but I haven't used it yet. Hope that helps mate, and glad you are hopefully getting something from the vids👍🎣🎣
Thanks dude, I'm just happy to be outside mate. I love fishing, it brings a lot of joy, and frustration sometimes, but it definitely drives me to try harder😂😂. I use the Sony zv 1. It's a dedicated blogging camera. I've been messing with the settings lately to try and get it a bit better. I still only film in hd 1080. The size of the files is just too big for me in 4k, and to be honest, I don't think it's hugely necessary. I'm lazy when filming though mate. I just plonk it on the tripod, and let it run for the whole session, I have it plugged in to a battery pack so I don't need to change batteries etc. By the way, I like your videos as well mate, I like your style of filming, you're natural, and not trying to be something like a few others. They are a good watch buddy, so keep at it👍👍🎣🎣

Hi David, our club rules are 2 rods, 4 hooks pennel counts as one, if it's a one rod comp it's 3 hooks, pennel still counts as one. I've only ever fished this club, but I've fished a species comp with another club, and that one as the same, pennel counts as one. Depending on the distance between the pennel hook and the main hook most clubs that I've looked at count it as one. I guess it depends which club, where you look etc, a couple of the clubs here, are 2 rods 3 hooks. I think some of that is to do with national records. Like if I caught the heaviest bass, it would only count if I was using X amount of hooks at anyone time. Or I could be completely wrong😂😂👍🎣
@@FrugalOutdoors that's fair enough your club makes it's rules as it see's fit. You will find nationally, in Competitive Opens and Sea League's, rules are only one rod rigged up in use per angler at any one time. With a maximum of three hooks, in any configuration of your choice, but a two hook pennelled single trace snood is classed as two hooks. Also a single treble is classed as 3 hooks. Most of our clubs in North East England over 30 years ago, even reduced this too Two hooks maximum per baited trace in water at any one time. Reasoning was the fish, mostly flounders, whitings, eels, codling were getting blitzed in treble shots every cast for 4 hour comps, by big entry numbers of anglers and destroyed the local stocks. Anyways it is what it is, you carry on the good work.
