Thanks for your video. My RFD900+ is working with pix without no problem. Please tell me what is (are) the benefit(s) of using external power.

well you never take power from the Pixhawk rail. It may reboot the pixhawk. safer to power it externally.

Thanks for the video. Handy if you want a longer cable. I found RF Designs have a cable so you dont have to splice the two cables. There is a 150mm and 300mm: store.rfdesign.com.au/pixhawk2-to-rfd900-telemetry-cable-300mm/

Well I think this connection is crucial not just to have a longer cable but to power the RFD900 externally using a BEC. Note: It is not recommended to power the RFD900 receiver using Pixhawk.

Have you followed the instructions on the arduplilot.org site for setup of SIK radios? you will have to connect with a USB cable, then go to the config page, select SIK radio, and go through the steps, then cycle power and it should work. mine did. I'm pretty clueless about the computer interface, and a I got it working!!

I connected this radio to the external power and changed its setting for maximum power to 30 or 1wt. It works for a while. Now it shutdown simply and does not work. I tried to reset/bootloader but they did not make sense. Please do not waste your money on such a garbage module.
