    I once tried to remove the reservoir tank and like you said, it was very difficult and I gave up and used suction like you did. But then later I found the easiest way is to remove the hose that comes in to the very top of the radiator near the cap. Then you remove it from the straps and you can drain it in to the bucket. That hose attaches to the very bottom of the plastic reservoir so it drains it quite well. you can then pour the water in at the reservoir cap and flush it out really well.

    Hey Nathan really appreciate all these videos! I'm actually getting a 1098 soon. It just needs some TLC to getting in tip top shape!

    Did a coolant flush on my '15 Multistrada... (May 2019). It's as easy as an oil change. Used a pressurized tank (herbicide sprayer) to flush (distilled water) and fill (Engine Ice) the cooling circuit and overflow tank. The sprayer nozzle had a 45° bend that alowed me to get it into the tight space where the Rad filler neck is... worked great... 😁👍
    Thanks for sharing your vid... 🙂👍

    Hi Guys
    From an old Grey Biker
    FYI coolant usually is good for at least 4 yrs.
    You change coolant based on Ph value . Use coolant Ph sticks to determine acidity .
    Prestone Violet for euro. cars is a good choice . The corrosion package is meant for Hi Performance European cars
    Cheaper alternative .
    Better to flush with new coolant than with water , your diluting the new coolant with pure H2O lowering the boiling point
    Done thanks

    My 2015 MTS/S has the original coolant... 2 years overdue... 😖 It's unbelievable how time flies... Will have to flush it out this w/e...

    Nathan love the video and your other ones as well. Does the Engine Ice need to be diluted at all and how much did the bike take? Thanks.

    You could have used the same technique from the overfill on the radiator.
    Sucking out the residue radiator fluid on the bottom of the radiator
    before you went with the flush., by draining with that extraction pump.

    Great clip man!!! Where did you find that pump that helped you get the fluids out. Your clip was very well narrated. Are you self-taught or is this a profession just out of curosity.

      Francis Chan thank you. there is one hidden fastener under the nose directly in the center of the fairing I used a standard Allen wrench. All the other fasteners are visible.

    When you are running it to get the air out, do you leave the covers on or off?

    • @brotheus6310
      @brotheus6310  6 лет назад

      If you mean fairings you don't need them on while your running the bike. Radiator cap of course is on while your running the bike.

    • @MindlessMilitia
      @MindlessMilitia 6 лет назад

      Brotheus I meant radiator cap and overflow cap. So leave them on?

    • @brotheus6310
      @brotheus6310  6 лет назад +2

      Tommy Toca yes yes! The radiator is under very high pressure when the bike is running!

    • @MindlessMilitia
      @MindlessMilitia 6 лет назад

      Brotheus this may sound stupid but, how will the air bubbles bleed out if the caps are on?

    • @brotheus6310
      @brotheus6310  6 лет назад +2

      Tommy Toca you aren't bleeding the air your pushing out the air pockets in the radiator. The air then travels to the top of the radiator you than top off the radiator.

    Keep the old coolant and get rid of the motorcycle! I hate the desmadromic valve train on ducatis....they were designed in the 1950's And ducatic is just to lazy to join the rest of the word.

      Chuck Duh! you cannot be for real, why should Ducati follow the rest of the SHEEP?
      That's why we ride Ducati's.
      It's a love affair not a ride.
