This really has a feeling of denial as it degrades more.

ikr, like the melody is desperately trying to claw itself out of the void it's being dragged into.

I think that's the beauty of this music is it transcends its original purpose & to the listener becomes relative to his/her memories etc. Amazing!

Absolutely amazing music. These tracks don't end. They just die in unbelievable agony. Basinski fascinating as always.

It's strange that some people see this track as inspiring or uplifting, while I think it's the saddest one on the entire collection. For me it's the way the phrase repeats itself, never fully resolves, and just crumples to dust with time.
It reminds me of dealing with a horrible trauma that you never truly heal from. Like ruminating on all your past mistakes, regrets, and losses when you're depressed and completely hate yourself, and the only way you can cope is drinking it all away.

This feels like EATEOT, as the track slowly gets worse each minute. In EATEOT, songs get worse as it progresses. The sticky-shed syndrome (tape distortion) you can hear in this song is like a memory that's progressively being forgotten.
