I love the fact that Jason took time out to do an in-depth behind the scenes video with you. His openess and honesty in this industry is refreshing. Would love to be able to afford a pair of those Tyrs.
Being in engineering and manufacturing I very much appreciate these "how they are made" videos hosted by Jana. It makes me lust for some of those presses and CNC machines. Looking forward to John's review of the Tyr. Schiit monoblocks. Oh yeah, tacos can do that to you.... ;-) Seriously loved the sticker, "Skilled labor isn't cheap; Cheap labor isn't skilled". That axiom bears repeating often.
I've owned lots of expensive Hifi from all sort of high-end brands from around the world, and I've never been as satisfied as my experience with Schiit products. Been running a pair of Vidars with a Freya + for years every day - zero problems and fantastic sound. I'll look forward to trying the Tyr out someday. Great video and very nicely photographed - thanks!
I love these inside tours that Jan does for your channel. It give us, the possible consumer an understanding of how these pieces of equipment are made. It is really a dance where by everything has to be in place. Thanks
This is High End videomaking. A real pleasure to watch. And for dadjokes, though i am a dad. I don't know Schiit. But I own a Vali 2 which is great, with hopes of getting more Schiit. Thank you for making these high quality, entertaining and educational videos. Regards from Sweden.
I have been watching audio related videos/ reviews for many years. This is one of the best videos I have ever seen… such a unique aspect of audio production ! Long live the good Schiit!
I really like that you are doing these videos. It is great to see the products we use being made. Also, the dexterity and attention to detail of the employees always amazes me. Thank you please keep these videos coming :)
Finally someone who knows how to make good factor tours. I hear people saying no one watches them, that’s because usually it is made poorly. This one is outstanding!
By far!!! The most charming fun to watch aesthetically pleasing factory visit video I've ever watched Bravo Jana !! My hat is off to you Jason too , , , you're a natural at everything you do. And geeze-Louise.....a choke-filtered amplifier! Who would have thought that Schiit would happen?
Jana, your video making skills are top notch! This video has made me an even bigger Schiit lover and proud to be the owner of several of their products. Thank you!!
Thank you for sharing this video on how things are done at Shiit Audio. We got a lot out of it and also learned about the company. In the long run, we think it’ll go a long way to endear the company to consumers. Hope there will be more videos like this coming.🎧
I went to my proctologist and he asked me to bring him a shit sample, so I brought him my Tyr, he said that’s the heaviest piece of Schiit he has ever tested, but it sounds amazing. Loved the Video…Jason is an incredible innovator.
Thanks Jana & Team Darko for another fascinating, slick & fun vid hit. Fortuitous timing with the latest streams and hoping some new S400MK2’z will blend well with a Vidar and some other Schiit just ordered.
Bought 2 pieces of Schiit this year, a Lokius and a Lyr headphone amp. I'm no noob and own lots of gear from lots of different manufacturers. Astounding performance, best of the American value first companies.
Absolutely FASCINATING !!! Gives me goosebumps to see consumer audio manufacturing being done in the US of A ! Jason and team must be commended for it and for making it relatively affordable. 100% Made in USA is almost impossible especially with hundreds if not thousands of individual parts and associated IP. Well done Jana and John ! Need more of Jana for sure ! Thank you ! Salamat !!!
Just watched this for a second time, it is a masterpiece! Anyone interested in "Made in America" should be familiar with this video! Great music choices!
Jana killing it with the production quality. I thought they had moved to Texas. My gf is from Valencia and I've always wanted to go to The Schitter. Looks like I may not need to bring toilet paper next time I'm down there.
Quality content I never knew I needed! I also never knew Jana's talents include film making but I'm absolutely here for it. ... Lastly, I'm not above making the observation that this film featured Schiits and giggles.
Man, I love this visiting factories series very much, it's great to see this stuff, I just wish Schiit shipped to South Africa but they don't so far. But fingers crossed it will be soon, I see Abyss now does ship to SA. Thanks guys for bringing this series to us, it is well appreciated.
A great British detective once asked me to get him some top shelf audio gear, but sadly because of import tariffs, I had to tell him "No Schiit Sherlock."
Being resident in Europe is almost impossible to get Schiit products, locally available and in stock and reasonably priced. The European retail distributor is not really helping in this regard. If you order direct from Schiit in the US, as I have done in the past, you are faced with insane shipping costs, local import taxes, local VAT, shipping company warehouse expenses etc, making the whole process a nightmare and very costly. I would suggest that Schiit, since at least in the US they are adhering to the direct to consumer model, to have a look to what some Chinese and Canadian companies are doing with European logistic centers that allow for in time warehousing and processing of orders from countries like China, and get on board. There are a number of these companies to choose from, based in the Netherlands, Belgium and other countries and utilizing their services significantly helps reduce the end European consumer price since it bypasses the local European distributor margin, and offers large scale economies for shipping and customs processing etc. Sometimes US companies forget that having a great product is not enough to assume great sales in the rest of the world, and make very little or no effort to investigate alternative direct to consumer distribution options available in this global economy.
I feel your pain. Living in Belgium, have bought from the EU distributor in the Netherlands and from US directly. First didn't have the new products in stock for a very long time, second option cost me a whole lot more in taxes and customs. Both are not ideal. Contacted the EU distributor and they said Schiit didn't have enough product to meet US demand, let alone ship products to distributors around the world. So I guess we'll have to wait until stocks can be at a higher level. And that won't be soon I guess. Still, I love their products and the vision behind the brand.
@@jean-paulschweitzer6211 All the Schiit products I have are CE certified. The logo is on the devices. Otherwise it would be illegal to sell these in the EU. CE certification is a one time cost for the manufacturer per product of about €1000 / $1000. So that's not too expensive.
Been following Jason and Mikes company ever since I first read mikes book on how schiit audio happened. It's a great and inspiring read for those wanting to read about good America success stories and in our small nitch hobby as well. Loved Jason's anology of his company to Chevy corvette. Couldn't agree more!. These manufacturing interviews are pure gold! Please make more! Only regret in this video is not interviewing mike Moffet. That guy is so fun to funny to listen to. A legend in the industry. And when you get Mike and Jason in a interview together schiit happens! Thank you!
What succes? They only succeed to supply the American market. They have not the skills or manpower for global market delivery: Europe no stock, Australia no stock!
I own a Freya S, Vidar, and Modi Multibit and am thoroughly impressed with their sound. Schiit should be applauded for its commitment to high quality sound and affordability, especially considering the amount of hands on work required as shown in this vid.
This is fascinating, and I so appreciate the people in the factory who do this precise work. The automation is amazing! Now, if Schiit would ever reply to my many emails asking ONE specific question about the Try. Grrrrr. They are almost impossible to reach to speak to a human with technical knowledge. Very frustrating-I am a seriously interested prospective buyer of the Tyrs.
Awesome video 👍. I currently have the Schiit Freya + pre amp and the Gungnir DAC. Both are great components. Going to check out the TYR at the Schiit Valencia store. I think they will pair nicely with a the Klipsch Forte IV.
I've gotta get my Schiit together and start building out my dream listening room! Jana, nice work! John - looking forward to your review of this Schiit!
@13:49 I just ordered 2x Tyrs and good to know MPlab IDE v8.92 is used with ICD 3 to probably program a PIC MCU? (arm chair EEE guy, known to cause magic smoke in the lab...)
I will never forget how I ordered the Schiit Vidar in the 230 V Version to germany, waited 6 weeks for it, received the 110V version without noticing and destroyed it in 2 seconds. Boy, what a fun day that was!
According to my wife, I don't know Schiit about anything, but I tell her that I didn't do Schiit. But really, I do know about Schiit.. From the majestic video from Darko & Jana. I now know a lot more about Schiit. And a lot more about Schiit that she does..
Just got the TYRs using with Rag 2 as preamp, Nordost cables, and Magnepan LRSs: it's GAME ON! Great transients and percussive attack at all levels while being clear and clean. Great headroom so no need for gain level 2 or 3. Plenty of power. Highly recommended since tonality are very similar to tubes.

Calm down there big boy

Hey! What's up Steve

"Skilled labor isn't cheap; Cheap labor isn't skilled". True. Love that one. Often, clueless people wonder why one is paid higher than some.
Jana’s field trip videos are the best! Keep them coming.
Wow! Bravo Jana! That’s as good as any episode on The Discovery Channel of How It’s Made, produced using a big crew and budget.

Love the 2 device one hand soldering technique. kind of like chop sticks.
i love these videos because I don't feel so bad about spending good money on gear, knowing how much work really goes into building it.

Ariel, my thoughts exactly. We rock.
Fascinating job Jana! Looks like a great product.
Another fantastic video, hard to believe you do it solo!
Thatnks for this guys! Schiit is one of my all time favorite companies and this was a real treat. Also wonderfully shot and edited!
What’s the other ones?

Incredible video Jana great
work!
Great video Jana! I have grown to enjoy interviews with Jason from Schiit.
good schiit Jana - lovely work
I love that Jana is like an audiophile Mr. Rogers. These videos are so cool. Now if we can just get John to do the occasional puppet show…
I went to my proctologist and he asked me to bring him a shit sample, so I brought him my Tyr, he said that’s the heaviest piece of Schiit he has ever tested, but it sounds amazing. Loved the Video…Jason is an incredible innovator.
I’m just about to purchase my first Schiit product and after watching this I am doubly excited about acquiring it. And I concur; Jana rocks.
That was really well done Jana! I'm enjoying the series, and your excellent camera work! Excited to get a pair of Tyr for my listening room!
Thanks Jana & Team Darko for another fascinating, slick & fun vid hit. Fortuitous timing with the latest streams and hoping some new S400MK2’z will blend well with a Vidar and some other Schiit just ordered.

Jana, your production is wonderful. Warmest wishes for your continued success.
Jana killing it with the production quality.
I thought they had moved to Texas. My gf is from Valencia and I've always wanted to go to The Schitter. Looks like I may not need to bring toilet paper next time I'm down there.
They split their time between both places.
Good job, Jana.
Beautifully shot Jana! Love it.

I'm proud to own 2 Modi 3+ in black, will be buying more in the future.

This is good schiit ! Thank for these exciting videos Jana!

Great analogy indeed with the Corvette... great bang for the buck..
Another great video. I’ve got a few Schiit products and it great to watch the quality and effort that goes into the production process.
Love this tour with Jason. Have just purchased 3 x Tyr mono blocks. Best saying is: "The power of Schiit".
Thanks

Nice work, Jana! Great video.
Thanks Jena and thanks John. As amazing video as the Schiit company who does magic in this crazy world.
Good stuff Jana!
I just gained a Shitt ton more respect for this company. Thank you for the amazing content Darko
I own a Freya S, Vidar, and Modi Multibit and am thoroughly impressed with their sound. Schiit should be applauded for its commitment to high quality sound and affordability, especially considering the amount of hands on work required as shown in this vid.

Jason and Mike need to make a $99 Corvette. 🙂 Love Schiit! This is one of the better videos showing their process.
JANA KEEPS TOPPING OFF HERSELF!!! 💪
