Thank you so much! I've been looking for a double case and stumbled upon the Reunion Blues, as Sweetwater only had the mono. First thought was to look for a comparison review and you nailed it!
Try the mono vertigo, it solves the called issues. I use a gigbag, if I drive with bus and underground train. The top loading concept, big „shoe“ and slim profile is a big advantage in this situation. If I drive with car, I use an hard case.
Great vid! I actually have the RB CV case at home with a friends guitar now, and man this is by far the best gig I've ever had my mits on (compared with Mono, Slickbag, Harvest and others). And as you say, I would have no worries about gate checking with this (as long as you have a fret guard on), they're built like tanks!
Great video. Thanks. Would you ever worry about knocks to your guitar if you put the The Voyager or the Continental gig bag in the boot of a car with amps, stands, sliding about?
Fantastic, just what I needed to hear. Voyager it is for my electric guitar. Thanks so much for doing this review. Was leaning toward the Mono but the the thin profile of the Voyager is great. I have a Continental for my acoustic and it's amazing. Reunion Blues knows what they are doing.
Hi Ian! I literally just tried it again in both bags; it does fit. Now, this video is 4 years old; I believe they have discontinued the Continental series here demonstrated (midnight color), and combined both Voyager and Continental into one name, "Continental Voyager", so I can't speak for the one you got 100%... Are there 2 removable bottom pads you can remove? Also, I have to lift up the top of the gigbag a bit for the headstock to fit, and it works best if your G string tuning peg is perpendicular to the headstock. It's snug, but it definitely fits! Unless the new "Continental Voyager" is somehow shorter or less flexible? Please update us if that's the case. Now, the Mustang is still a bass that's about 3-4 inches longer than a strat.... The Voyager demonstrated here works and, as a guitar player, I find it convenient (it saved me buying a bass gigbag)... If you're strictly a bass player however, they also make a Voyager specifically for bass (RBCB4) in which your short scale should have plenty of space:)
@@iansimpson6553 Good to know thank you! I will add a disclaimer in the video description. I would recommend that you contact RB asking to trade for an RBCB4 (or whatever they recommend). I've always had great customer support from them
Hello there. First of all, thank you very much for delving into a topic not a lot of people have mentioned before. I had a question to ask about the Reunion Blues Voyager. Is this case a long-term investment?
Absolutely. I still own every single RB case I've acquired, so dating back over 6 years now. They're still in top shape. And they've all seen a lot of miles, flights and throwing around!
Thanks for the video Johann! Is your Voyager an electric or acoustic model? I can't find the small body acoustic version on sale in Europe, and was wondering whether you had any experience fitting a classical/flamenco guitar in a dreadnought (or even electric) model voyager. Thanks!
The Voyager or the Continental. I've had both drenched beyond measure when gate checked at an airport during a storm, yet the inside of all pockets was dry.
I've done it with all, honestly. But unfortunately due to more and more stringent airport process (security, gate, in-flight crew, etc) over the years, you've gotta assume that your instrument will one day get checked in... And my faith lies with RB Continental and Voyager products when it comes to that eventuality, because of their superior flexoskeleton. Hope this helps!
I've done it once, between Davao City and Singapore, through Manila. Aka not your safest route...! But my instruments rolled onto the oversize luggage belt without a scratch on them. That said, I'd trust my Continental or my Voyager more.
@@danawakes2001 look up the Expedition, hollow body edition. It fits my full scale 5-string bass as well as my bigger hollowbodys electrics. See my recent review.
There has been some concerns on the newer models and their lengths from recent followers (this video is a few years old). I recommend you double check with RB directly to make sure. Best!
Hey guys, new bassist here. My Sire V3 is about to come in the mail and im trying to decide if its worth it to buy a gig bag like the ones in the vid or should I get a hard case. If I go for a hard case, which one would yall recommend?? Thanks for any feedback.
LesPauls are scary to fly with indeed. I honestly keep mine home or local most of the time. But if there's one case that would handle it, it'd be it. Or SKB iSeries that are basically safes on wheels!
Most people seem to go with the Mono, but the flaws you pointed out would make me favor the RB. Thanks.

Curious why no one mentioned the Reunion Blues RBX Oxford Bag, which has CV lining instead of the loose fabric lining in the RBX.
I don't like the Mono M-80 but i love the mono vertigo.
Great comparison. I have the Mono and it'a behemoth of a bag.. RBX looks great as a dual.
Hi Which model of the voyager fits the Mustang Bass, regular voyager or LP voyager?
Thanks!
The model demonstrated here is the regular Voyager, and it fits it!
Great review Johann, very useful mate - thank you.

Tom Veitch I do it all the time. Never a worry
Is it possible to safely fit a pedal in either the Continental or the Voyager without damage? Something the size of a Klon?
Always be mindful of hardware in an external pocket. No matter the padding, if too much pressure or hit is applied it'll leave some damage

Hi,
Per your recommendation, I bought a RB continental voyager for my mustang bass. It doesn’t fit. I thought I should get it out there.

Johann Frank ok, you might have an older model that was slightly longer, mine just came in and it won’t fit the mustang, even by a long shot.

Can you please do a comparison and include the Gator Pro Go?
Reunion Blues case hands down! Better built, more secure, better protection and a better price! Pretty simple really!
hi awesome video. question, with the reunion blues bags, have you ever not been able to put them in the over head compartment of a plain ?
Thanks for posting, the only video review of the Voyager I've seen
You're welcome

Great video. Thanks! Have you used the Mono Vertigo? I'm wondering how it compares to the RB's Voyager.
I have. I'm not a fan of neither the Boot nor the top loading only features. And they need to change their inside fabric, as pointed out in my video.
Great info man, just Wonder if you can point me in the right direction, which one of all 4 gig bags would be best for water proof protection?
The Voyager or the Continental. I've had both drenched beyond measure when gate checked at an airport during a storm, yet the inside of all pockets was dry.
Awesome, thx.
Thanks...this is exactly what I was looking for. Perfect. - Steve
Which one is save to put the instrument (bass) on the baggage (airplane) ??

@@Johannfrank do u ever know about gator pro go gigbag??
Anw,thx for ur replay n information..
Respect.
If you had to gate check your mono dual would u feel safe ?

Great video, love my RB dreadnaught continental, nice comprehensive review cheers!
Excellent! This is exactly the information I needed. I was wanting to know if the Reunion Blues GUITAR case would work for my Mustang.
Thank you!

Will Jackson I would get a quality gig bag from Reunion Blues, Mono, or Gator. Gator makes some great bags/ cases that are generally more affordable.
Great video! I love my RB Continental. I might get a Voyager in the future thanks to this vid :)
anyone have experience with continental voyager dbl with 2 Les Pauls ? this is where my world gets scary ....

When will you be posting bass tutorials? I would really love to learn Child's Play :) love from PR 🇵🇷
I put gaff tape on my mono up top
Excellent review. Thanks
you can tell when you have spent too much money on a gig bag when you start to worry about the guitar damaging the bag.
Hahahahaha not wrong!
