  • One of the most common surgeries we perform is called a cystotomy. A cystotomy is the removal of stones or a growth from the urinary bladder. They form most commonly from chronic low grade urinary tract infections. We have put together a short video about the procedure to answer the most frequently asked questions about cystotomies. We hope your pet will never need a cystotomy, but if they do, we will be here to help.**Due to COVID-19, the free lab we typically send stones to is closed. We will send you home with your pets bladder stone for you to share immediately with your primary vet for stone analysis. Stone analysis helps you plan to decrease the chances of future stone formation. It is important to share the stones with your primary vet to discuss medical, dietary or lifestyle changes that may be necessary.**
